Great looking bag. The reason I got rid of my last 5.11 bag was because of the all the branding. If you want to sell a “covert” bag….make it covert. If they want to play the marketing game, I’ll look for another bag. I can’t be the only one with these thoughts. James please relay this to 5.11
you are able to hide all logos on the covert bags as such. or maybe its called the lv. but all tabs on the outside of the 4 5.11 bags ive used are able to tuck away into their own seem
That is a legitimately cool backpack. I've been looking for something of that kind of size for a while, not necessarily to carry, but a nice quality bigger ruck that isn't all camo all the time. Karl seems like he'd be the coolest dude to hang out with at a barbecue.
I had been looking for something around that big, not to put a gun in but just as a backpack for a while because I travel so much on the weekends. Ended up buying some slightly oversized 3 day assault pack which has been really good.
I have so many bags and this makes me want another. This looks sweet. Honestly the best use of space I've seen in awhile. The design makes it seem like its smaller then it actually is. It breaks apart the length very well
Man, I love Karl Brugger. Very rarely do you see the head of a company so involved like this; actually at the shows and interacting with people. Also great to see two of my favorite companies working together. 🙂
I remember the gym bag that had instead of the shoes space in the bottom a cut out for the Sig PE90. It was meant for competitive shooter and it was super cool with the gun in it
That prototype backpack looks better than any other bag 5.11 has put out. 5.11, Don’t go and make it look like the rest of your bags. We want low pro not an over branded tacticool bag.
with the climate around firearms in the us, it would be nice if more companies would come out with more discreet rifle bags. i hate going to the range and everybody who may possibly see me loading the car know exactly what i have.
I got this bag for carrying my bullpup. It works for that and not much else. Like Karl said; it’s good for a range bag. It’s not a ruck, there’s not much room in the 2 front pockets but enough to carry some mags, cleaning kit, ear pro and a back up pistol and mags….. maybe a few other odds and ends
I'm missing Stuff to attach magazine pouches, so that the loose Magazines don't rattle around in the bag compartment like prepared molle areas in the smaller sub sections or the inside of the flap for modularity if you don't want to narrow the magazines down to much with prepared pouches. Since you can't run around in a loadbearing vest or a small rig depending on your covert clothing choice. You could probably stuff a lightweight vest in there but meh...
If the zipper was to be larger and with option to put locks would make the bag awesome. Should not carry gun bags walking around without locking it? Hopefully the next edition have larger zipper with locking options on the zippers.
Looks like a nice bag. Personally if want the bag to not look different would add a daisy chain or two on the outside to hang things from or perhaps a ghost tube to simulate a water bottle tube. Put the colors in more of a passable bag will pass all day long. Please send me one.
I could see using this with a broken down AR, though I already have two Bulldogs and those look pretty incognito. I'd love to talk to the guy who designs bags for 5.11, I daily a Covrt18 1.0 and have a bunch of feedback for them.
This bag is far too big. The Vertx Ready Pack 2.0 should be the maximum size for any EDC bag. Although I think the Vertx Commuter Sling 2.0 is the ideal size, albeit, _not_ a sling bag. Sling bags are a gimmick and should be avoided. Manufacturers should aim for sizing between these two models of bags in a _backpack_ form. Nothing too wide, tall or deep. Of course, it should go without saying that the design should avoid all tactical appearances. Unfortunately, the ideal covert bag still does not exist. Stay classy my friends.
What? I carried a giant bag way bigger than this just to carry groceries for years in the MN metro area, even on public transportation. It may not have had a gun it, but I got very few questions and only from people that knew me anyway as to why I was carrying such a big bag everyday. Unless you leave the bag unattended places for thieves, which means the size is irrelevant anyway, no one is going to make any efforts to see what is inside of it.
Karl and his company just rock! From personality, mentality, values, quality, and involvement (suing the feds stateside), they’re doing it all right! Herzlichen Dank aus den USA, Herr Brügger! 🇺🇸 🇨🇭
I think that big is anything but low visibility. I see a dude carrying that in the city, it will definitely yell weapon. What's funny is that you can fit an MCX in a regular backpack and look normal as hell.
Wise man, everyone knows cameras steal your soul and send you to damnation. Take James for example, poor guy has aged 30years since he started doing TFBtv and poor guy is only 28.
Hey Ssshhhtyr! Nice rifle, but please don't put the SN so prominently on the upper receiver right above the lower. It looks silly, but more importantly, it will give the anti-gunners a new idea. You might think appeasement is the best solution to keep you out of the battle. As an American I can promise you, it never works!
Maybe it’s just me… but I would sure as hell think someone’s got something in there they definitely don’t want people to know what it is… ESPECIALLY would think it’s a compact rifle…
I don't think so. Most people are either oblivious or don't care. Even in cities, people carry all sorts of gear all the time in all kinds of big bags. Sound equipment, sports gear, gym bags. And in a city you always have tourists with giant travel bags and backpacks. This would totally fly under the radar. It's more about what you wear along with the bag. If you're dressed like an actual normal person, you won't get a second look. If you're dressed like the CCW tacticool cosplay version of a normal person, with a 5.11 polo and pants with too many pockets and Danner boots and a Suunto watch and Oakleys, then yeah, you might raise some eyebrows.
@@its_clean maybe among other people, but law enforcement definitely pays attention. We even see sports bags and musical instruments cases as a red flag
@@its_clean I live in New York, the biggest tourist area in the U.S….you walk around with a bag this big and you are going to draw attention. We are still on alert from 9/11
@@scotopicvision So what you're saying is that no one should make any attempt to make discreet rifle cases then? Because the design of this bag, and a few other low-vis rifle breakdown cases, is reasonably low-profile and nondescript. It's just the size, and you physically cannot make the bag any shorter and still fit a normal broken-down AR upper. Period. This is an attempt at a partial solution to more discreet carry of a rifle- it cannot violate the laws of physics to shrink a rifle down into a briefcase. What did you expect?
@@donh1572 So your answer is: just give up on ever attempting to carry or transport a rifle anywhere in a city ever, because there is no conceivable container that will make it discreet. Am I getting that right? Because the bag cannot possibly be physically smaller than this.
Anyone with 1/2 a brain is going to know what youve got inside that walking anywhere outside of a hiking mountain haha rifle bags are never discreet. Theyre HUGE every time because thats the nature of the beast
Oh man... This bag is one of those things that's just going to stick out to EVERYONE. So bulky and awkwardly shaped, and doesn't resemble any work, school, or hiking backpack out there. People are going to look at you, and be like "What the hell is in that bag?" Definitely not stealth. Real question here. Do guys that are into "gun culture" not realize how much they stand out to the general public? Are you just so deep into this stuff that you think you are being covert, or do you just not care? All the fellas walking around in "tactical" pants and 5.11 stuff, carrying a 5.11 backpack with molle all over it. You're wearing a patch hat and shirts with flags and "patriot" crap plastered all over them. Then you get out of your truck with Sig, Browning, and AR15 stickers all over it... Do you realize how NOT covert you are? You stick out like a sore thumb. You SCREAM suburban operator.

Yeah, skip the Velcro and mollie horse hockey. Also not interested in a 5.11 logo on the outside of the pack.

@@JustCLEB yeap in the Lv line.

This looks like a well thought out bag, but I have found that a light color for the interior of a bag makes things easier to find.
ya hopefully they have different colorways
Love the dynamic between you two
These two need too make a road trip movie, or better yet backpack across Europe.

5.11 is putting the overt back in covert. Low vis is James Reeves Hem line on his shorts, 5.11 take notes from james!
With the compartment, it can also comfortably hold a notebook, a sweater and all sorts of goodies! Seems really good for international travels too!
Finally, this solves my problem of what to do with all my B&T guns.
Just exactly I have been looking for. I need my rifle with me. Perfect, thanks

I love this. I love staying LOW PROFILE.
This is low profile???
What is the length of the large compartment? Hopefully 29 inches ;)
This is definitely a covert bag. I just wish someone would make an EDC sling bag that can hold a 20in total length pistol/rifle/pdw.
The best covert rifle bag is my jansport that makes me look like a college kid.
Looking forward to this one!
Looks like they hit all the key points.
Do you know what the maximum internal length it can hold is?

What's the length of that large interior compartment? Is it long enough to fit a 16" ps90?
I can’t believe you haven’t shot the apc 308! I’ll send you mine to try. Unbelievable manageable recoil. 14.5 pin weld haga acr stock. Next level.
James are you going to review the B&T APC? Seems like it’s up your alley, in the lords caliber, European, expensive, classy AF.
If the zipper was to be larger and with option to put locks would make the bag awesome. Should not carry gun bags walking around without locking it? Hopefully the next edition have larger zipper with locking options on the zippers.
Please provide length both normal and extended mode for the pack. Thanks!

Will it fit a laptop with a large format pistol? And be secure/padded enough to not worry about laptop damage within reasonable use?
I don't think anyone lugging that bag around is being as "covert" as they think they are. It looks like a very well designed bag though.
I could see using this with a broken down AR, though I already have two Bulldogs and those look pretty incognito.

Make it where it holds one rifle at a 45°. Or. Corner to corner. And shorten up the bag a touch.
Here's what I got out of this video: an APC308 Review is overdue.
My apc308 with 14.5 inch barrel has less recoil than my 16 inch scar 17.
The apc series is the best series of rifles I own.
James what kind of watch is that you’re rockin??
Have they released this? Can't find it on the website
In the opening, James looks like an excited school boy talking to his big professor.
I need this now!
Pro tip - A MP5k fits inside those small hydration backpacks perfectly ❤
Where can this be purchased?
Everyone loves HK, B&T owns my heart

Karl is one of those people you could listen to all day.
Soooooo the name of the bag is called?
What is serial numer/sku or name this 5.11 bag .
Is this bag waterproof?
I can attest to the APC's low recoil. Best gun in Call of Duty today 😂
You could really carry one rifle with like a cheast rig for a covert response bag
Seems like a dope bag
Darn, I just bought a backpack, yet this one is far better than what I got.
Its nice but still needs to be smaller.
Great video
bag is big as hell, but maybe it could pass of ass some big ass hiking pack and not look suspisicious. Should be fine in most packs.
It looks like a skateboard backpack
I keep my truck gun in a tennis racket case. No one that plays tennis is stealing anything and no one that steals wants a tennis racket.
So... I can ride my motorcycle to the range now ;D
There should be ALOT more of these backpacks... brings the price down!
Hell, Someone" could fit a .22 takedown in that Bag, with all other needed arms!

Nice bag for the range but it’s as covert as carrying low ready in a bank.
Not gonna lie. I see 5.11 and i immediately think “trash”
Any bag in the same size can have 2~3 PCCs in it, and a lot cheaper in general cases.
The tuff products revelations 2 is more covert than this. The 511 is a cool bag but damn, it just draws attention.
karl the goat
