Quinn Sullivan, 8 year old guitar prodigy, tears it up on the B.B. King classic, "The Thrill is Gone" with Terry Sullivan on drums, Tommy Sousa on bass, and Chris Waters on rhythm.
holy crap this kid is gonna be AMAZING when he's older. I'm gonna follow his career just to see what he ends up sounding like when hes 16. He's already incredible!
This kid is the future. My little brother started playing the bass when he was 8 and now he is 19 playing for churches and groups here in Georgia. I couldn't believe my baby brother could play the bass and nobody taught him. He asked for a bass on his 8th birthday and taught himself how to play.
10 yrs after this, and yes, he has become what we knew he would after watching this. He is amazing, and I got my tickets for his show on the 28th of this month in Buffalo NY. Been following his progress since I 1st stumbled across him about 8 yrs ago. Amazing talent. A true natural. I remember watching a 12 yr old kid playing in a blues bar named Cheers in Ft Lauderdale years ago. I thought he was amazing, and he was, but not in the same league as Quinn. That other kid, was Derek Trucks. He has grown into a great guitarist as well, but still..Quinn rules!
This boy is awesome. I'm a fifth-generation musician - my dad was a Vaudeville star, and his dad played 1st Trumpet with Sousa - I've been around talent all my life. Take it from me, this kid is the real deal. I hope his parents continue to nurture his talent, keep him practicing and keep him grounded. He will go far.
While sounding like a young Michael Jackson, vocally, and showing more poise and dexterity than B.B. King ever could, this kid is destined to be the next big thing.
My Thrill was gone Until I heard Quinn & Buddy Guy perform at the Elk Creek Winery!. They were there 6-13-09 on Sat nite!! Their concert was Overwhelmingly, Unbelievably Amazing!! That lil Young thang had me Singing, Dancing Clapping my Hands & Stomping my feet . Whu Hu for Quinn. Honnie, the Thrill is Back!!!
anyone who says this kid isnt a talented singer is just looking for a reason to hate on his abilties..this serves as a reminder of the genius in this world
The kid is cute! I love how he tossed his hair, flicked his hip and smiled as he was actually having fun. All children have to have some music in their life. It helps them learn analytics and socialization. They don't have to make it a life long commitment. But they should be given the opportunity.
Oh what goodness this child brings. On his web page he said that he wanted to be on Americon Idol. Quinn honey, you're way beyond that. Just keep happy and enjoy your life and music. You are the next Rolling Stone, Beetle, whatever you want to be. You Are.
If he's this good at 8, he'll be so lights out at age 10, forget the teens and adulthood. ....he just made those age groups null and void with his playing.
I couldn’t ever wish this young man any grief or pain but how can a kid that never felt pain , or lost love ever seriously contribute to this song and it’s message , it’s terrific his technical perfect version but the soul I don’t see i nor feel it maybe I’m wrong
i got to say he is good now and i can only wait and watch him as he fills our ears with his joyful muisc in the years to come, keep up the good work and i know you got me as a fan, 4-ever, got to love this kid
first child guitarist i ever heard play on youtube a couple of years ago. love the sound of his guitar and his use of the distortion pedal. and so skilfully played. also just love the accent on that tv host guy and his smooth comments.
This kid is amazing. He started to play guitar and sang when he's just 6 years old. I think he plays and sing better now. he will be guitar hero someday.
Saw this l'il guy at Bluesfest last nite - OMG! - kudos to Buddy Guy (the master) for nurturing this amazing talent - WOW! It's hard to BELIEVE the blues from a 12-year-old - but make no mistake - this kids got SOUL baby! The thrill is gone???! Just wait kid!!!
This kid is a legend, this will be one of those clips they look at in 40 years time showing the early years of Quinn Sullivan before he became one of the all-time greats. U ROCK QUINN
thats best sounding squire iv heard. kid rocks. so many kids rockin these days.. 10 year music is gonna be interesting.. lets hope the these kids can make good music become top chart material again.. he is gonna have a good voice too. as he grows. you can just get the feeling listening to him. influence by the beatles.. rock on.
I would have never had the discipline to do this when I was this young. I was out having to much fun. Keep up the great work your a child genius in my eyes.
I love it......when he says ''you know, you've done me wrong...and you'll be sorry....someday''......I crack up.......cause he is 8 years old!!...Thank you for sharing this.
Fantastic ,Incredible. What i like he said he likes the Beatles and when he plays at times he shakes his head just like Paul McCartney use to do,when the Beatles were younger.thanks for the video
Even at 8 years old he was a B.B. (Blues Boy) natural born. Mama Sullivan announced to the world " he is born..hand him that baby Strat now!" ! Even B.B. King never started playing that early in life.
He has amazing timing and talent, oh and he is an amazing blues player, you can tell he really feels the blues, he has so much ahead of him, respect and praise for him 😎👌
Here's what I don't get. Many people on the comments toot their own horns and say oh I can do that just as well, or better, and I'm not on tv, blah blah bullshit blah. Yet how old are those people? 20? 30? 40+? This kid in this video is 8. Considering boys usually develop a little later than girls, he's had what, 4 years, tops, to really pick up what talent he has? So stop being jealous that he gets some shine for this. If you want it, go earn it, and stop bitching.
We now KNOW the next generation of BLUES is safely in hand!! You GO young Master Quinn!!!
holy crap this kid is gonna be AMAZING when he's older. I'm gonna follow his career just to see what he ends up sounding like when hes 16. He's already incredible!
sooooo whats the verdicts pal
He certainly hasn't disappointed anyone with his talent today.
This aged well
He is becoming a legend.
He is so polished, he doesn't even look at his hands. An old soul in a boy's body!
He's now working his way to becoming a legend
This kid is the future.
My little brother started playing the bass when he was 8 and now he is 19 playing for churches and groups here in Georgia.
I couldn't believe my baby brother could play the bass and nobody taught him.

that sound is as good as it gets and we need to thank God that he still knows to put happiness and thankfully for this young talent..
This kid proves that the blues will continue to go on.
Awesome
Thank heaven for that!
While sounding like a young Michael Jackson, vocally, and showing more poise and dexterity than B.B. King ever could, this kid is destined to be the next big thing.

Feed your kids Beatles and blues from an early age...and be wowed by the results...
It’s just amazing to watch such a young kid play a guitar like this.
It sounds like shit
Normally, I hate those videos of "OMG baby plays 100 notes a second!!1!" but this is great. He obviously has a lot of talent.
anyone who says this kid isnt a talented singer is just looking for a reason to hate on his abilties..this serves as a reminder of the genius in this world
For eight years old play like this? Man this kid is so talented keep the blues alive kid, damn this kid is so good his dad must be really proud of him
Great guitarist I don't play but when I grow up I want to be him I am 67 lol great
The kid is cute! I love how he tossed his hair, flicked his hip and smiled as he was actually having fun. All children have to have some music in their life. It helps them learn analytics and socialization. They don't have to make it a life long commitment. But they should be given the opportunity.
perhaps but there are so many amazing musicians who don't make a comfortable living from their talent.
Oh what goodness this child brings. On his web page he said that he wanted to be on Americon Idol. Quinn honey, you're way beyond that. Just keep happy and enjoy your life and music. You are the next Rolling Stone, Beetle, whatever you want to be. You Are.

not only is his guitar playing sooo good. his singing is absolutely amazing, some of the best ive ever heard of all time.
I couldn’t ever wish this young man any grief or pain but how can a kid that never felt pain , or lost love ever seriously contribute to this song and it’s message , it’s terrific his technical perfect version but the soul I don’t see i nor feel it maybe I’m wrong
He is great. . I am overwhelmed. .
Kid is light years ahead of his age on the guitar. Vocals still developing.
This is true, but if he can play like this the vocals will come after his voice changes.

also just love the accent on that tv host guy and his smooth comments.
