Transfer case failure in the Pajero

- I blew the transfer case in my 2009 NS Pajero (Gen4) and being a Manual gearbox finding a spare transfer case turned out to be a mission.
With time against us and only one weekend to get the transfer case repaired and fitted, we tackled the conversion needed to make the auto transfer case fit our manual Pajero.
Disclaimer…..I’m no mechanic and this is not a “how to” video, just a doco of two weekend warriors giving a transfer case rebuild a go!!

Is this also a problem for autos? Am considering a pajero auto and need to know!
No it’s not a common problem on any Pajero, the gearbox and transfer cases are very strong. I’ve just worked mine really hard. I like to show off what the Pajeros are capable of so try the tougher stuff. The only thing to keep an eye on is the chain in the transfer case. Good service intervals and replace when needed and you’ll be good for many kms! I’ve got 362000 on mine already
The manual is not so common so if you’re looking definitely go auto.
