TH-cam has a way of doing that. After fighting the decline for two years I had to pivot my efforts for earning a living. Thank you for your concern and kind words. I enjoy sharing the world. Our house is in Alaska so we’re eventually going to get up there again. The idea of living in Seward’s rainforest doesn’t sound appealing. The other side of the peninsula gets a lot less rain, we are happy there, there’s more land and it’s cheaper.
The youtube algorithm just isnt a way for genuine storytelling. I am glad you will keep telling your story. If youtube decide to promote it, great, if not, it will be treasures for you to look back on for the rest of your life.
It seems that TH-cam pushes horrific thumbnails and titles even when I have no interest in that over and over again. Thank you for existing. I’m glad that by chance the TH-cam algorithm suggested your channel to me. I hope that you continue and that TH-cam realizes that some of us don’t want to be watch horrific videos.
Hi Ben and Rebecca. We (Andy and Sherry and our 2010 Mitsubishi Fuso named Walter) will be at Overland Expo PNW and we would certainly enjoy meeting you in person. One of your earlier videos was very influential in our decision to go with the Fuso platform many years ago. We were at the PNW Expo 2 years ago and because our truck was torn apart and in the early stages of the build, we had to tent camp at the Expo out of our little Honda Fit. Fast forward 2 years later we are wrapping up our extensive journey of building our custom travel vehicle on the Fuso platform, selling our home and 99% of all our possessions and launching our new life of full-time nomadic travel. We just returned from an extensive backpacking excursion throughout SE Asia, so we get the fatigue of always being "on" while in a foreign country. We will be in the showcase section of the show. @@outliersoverland, at this stage we plan on the spending the shoulder seasons in the Balkins where we have a base and travel around Europe for four to five months of the year and spend the winters back in warmer climates. The prices have certainly skyrocketed since we first started thinking about what we wanted. The $100K USD truck build like you guys managed back in the day is now a pipe dream. We're opting for a truck camper which will be great for the amount time we will be on the road and also offer us a daily driver for the time we are not mobile.

One was a 1964 24" Avion travel trailer that when fully loaded weighed 4100lbs.Had it's own Bathroom ;), a shower Rebecca could stand up in, but sorry Ben you could not ;( full kitchen. They are easy to remodel if needed. The older travel trailers are much better made, and weight is less. Just a thought for towing with your 4Runner.

Sometimes I get tired and discouraged about our channel, but then I remember that I am doing it for our own sakes, to remember our trips. Whatever comes with it is a plus.
Thanks for still being here. We originally started videoing for memories and art, then it started earning an income which one gets accustomed to. Now we are back to making videos just for sharing, not the algorithms.

I struggled to keep the channel alive but eventually had to redirect my efforts and that meant less videos. Maybe it’s a blessing….time will tell. Enjoy your time in Alaska. I miss that place sometimes.
The change in the algorithm has been slow and steady but gradually over the last year the content being recommended has gone away from what I used to like. I went with it I guess and just realized right now as I saw this video that I wasn't watching videos that I used to and following channels like yours anymore. Personal stories and good feeling channels just don't seem to get promoted anymore. All about the action and drama now. Glad to see you guys again. You guys are hilarious. I mean, you share all the good and the bad but your senses of humor! I had wondered why your views were dropping so quickly. It sounds like you have a plan that will work well for you. Until it doesn’t lol. As to your trailer situation, I get the needing your own bathroom, including a shower. It’s the 39:56 regular Queen that’s going to be an issue in something that small and light. You’ll def need a north south, not an east west and that’s where the extra length is an issue. Good luck! as far a a great small camper....have you looked into the casita? i owned one for over a decade and was able to sell it for one thousand over purchase price new. the liberty would allow for a 60x80 queen bed configuration and its the model i had. good luck and safe travels!

You both are doing fine, 8-10 years ago there was way fewer TH-camrs creating content and also less subscription services for people to watch. It is definitely harder now to get views and subscribers, I have seen that most popular channels only get views from 10-20% of however many total subscribers they have. Keep doing what makes you happy and you will be winning :) 😀
Great to see your channel again, I lost track. Curious why wouldn't you opt for a larger campervan, like a 159in WB Promaster? No need for towing, and less space to store at a friend's place or storage facility. It can go anywhere a 4-runner and trailer can go, perhaps more with the ability to turn around and park in cities. Anyway, we have gone this route with a 136in WB Promaster to give us a "home" while in the States for 1/3rd of our nomadic year. GL to you!
It’s good to be back. After living in Denny’s 13’ habit for so many years we would like something more spacious. The GeoPro 19fbs looks promising for a mass production trailer. We also love the capabilities of the 4Runner to get to more remote locations. After traveling Europe I have discovered what’s really special about America. It’s the wide open vast expanses of nature west of the Rockies. If we have a roof top tent and travel trailer we could go remote camping in a lot of places and return to a comfortable trailer after a few days.
@@outliersoverland Yup, if you value space and remote locations, I suppose a truck/trailer would work best. We intend to spend 50% of our USA time in big cities and driveway surfing with friends and 50% remote, thus the small van. GL!
I have found on a lot of the channels I watch I was suddenly unsubscribed . I have had to resubscibe multiple times. I have no ideal why TH-cam keeps doing it. Maybe that is what happened to most of your subscribers as I had to resubscribed to you. I enjoy your videos and have missed you guys.

I was able to tow a 22 by ft Winnebego all over the US with a Dodĝe Durango (2013) that had a tow capacity. Had full bath! Good size fridge, queen bed, I'm thinking of selling the DODGE as it's a bit too big for my needs now _ only 78 000 miles, in very good condition if you!re interested. Have fun and relax a bit as you re-group.
There’s two things I’m highly suspect of. One is the fact that we changed our travels from America to Europe. The other I just can not mention, but if you go to settings on your Studio app you’ll see something that could have happened.
I loved watching your videos filmed in the US. I’m not interested in Europe, although I appreciate it was your dream. I stopped watching and unsubscribed when you went to Europe. TH-cam needs at least 1 vlog a week 12 min+ every week for a while to get you back on track ( could make content and edit and que maybe 6 vlogs then you could probably take 2 weeks off filming every now and then ).

I’m trickled to see that you’re back! I got a weird email canceling my subscription! I of course resubscribed. BTW, I own a 4-Runner and have for 11 years. I tell people that you’ll get tired of it before you wear it out. Live your lives! I’ll be here whenever you post something. I’ll track you down. Life’s way to short to stress yourself out! Oh, and lots of folks like their Winnebago EKKOs. They come in gasoline and diesel versions now. The down side is that you’d have to trailer Denise. Another option would be an Airstream Bambi or Caravel. I think the GVWR would fit.

I wondered what happened to you guys. You really did seem to disappear from my TH-cam listings. I am glad you are back in the US and back on the screen. I enjoy seeing the world through your eyes but understand that you need some regular downtime, off-screen. Please do what is best for you. Your viewers completely understand. Have a lovely summer in the lower 48. My husband and I are going to Alaska for late summer and early fall. We are flying up and renting a truck camper instead of towing our Airstream all the way up and back.
I struggled to keep the channel alive but eventually had to redirect my efforts and that meant less videos.
Maybe it’s a blessing….time will tell.

The change in the algorithm has been slow and steady but gradually over the last year the content being recommended has gone away from what I used to like. I went with it I guess and just realized right now as I saw this video that I wasn't watching videos that I used to and following channels like yours anymore.
Personal stories and good feeling channels just don't seem to get promoted anymore. All about the action and drama now. Glad to see you guys again. Blessings and good wishes for your future endeavors.

You guys are hilarious. I mean, you share all the good and the bad but your senses of humor! I had wondered why your views were dropping so quickly. It sounds like you have a plan that will work well for you. Until it doesn’t lol. As to your trailer situation, I get the needing your own bathroom, including a shower. It’s the 39:56 regular Queen that’s going to be an issue in something that small and light. You’ll def need a north south, not an east west and that’s where the extra length is an issue. Good luck! And so glad you updated us. I check your channel regularly. Back when you were on your original channel TH-cam dropped you from my subscription list. So I know to check!

as far a a great small camper....have you looked into the casita? i owned one for over a decade and was able to sell it for one thousand over purchase price new. the liberty would allow for a 60x80 queen bed configuration and its the model i had. good luck and safe travels!

We’d like to see a couple Greek islands and ferry to Turkey one of these days.
You both are doing fine, 8-10 years ago there was way fewer TH-camrs creating content and also less subscription services for people to watch. It is definitely harder now to get views and subscribers, I have seen that most popular channels only get views from 10-20% of however many total subscribers they have. Keep doing what makes you happy and you will be winning :) 😀

Great to see your channel again, I lost track. Curious why wouldn't you opt for a larger campervan, like a 159in WB Promaster? No need for towing, and less space to store at a friend's place or storage facility. It can go anywhere a 4-runner and trailer can go, perhaps more with the ability to turn around and park in cities. Anyway, we have gone this route with a 136in WB Promaster to give us a "home" while in the States for 1/3rd of our nomadic year. GL to you!

After living in Denny’s 13’ habit for so many years we would like something more spacious.
The GeoPro 19fbs looks promising for a mass production trailer.
We also love the capabilities of the 4Runner to get to more remote locations. After traveling Europe I have discovered what’s really special about America. It’s the wide open vast expanses of nature west of the Rockies.
If we have a roof top tent and travel trailer we could go remote camping in a lot of places and return to a comfortable trailer after a few days.
@@outliersoverland Yup, if you value space and remote locations, I suppose a truck/trailer would work best. We intend to spend 50% of our USA time in big cities and driveway surfing with friends and 50% remote, thus the small van. GL!

Several channels i sub to & watch regularly have disappeared from my feed ... including yours.. and i get a whole load of vids im not interested in. You. both look relaxed and happy.
The algorithms do not make sense sometimes.
I was able to tow a 22 by ft Winnebego all over the US with a Dodĝe Durango (2013) that had a tow capacity. Had full bath! Good size fridge, queen bed, I'm thinking of selling the DODGE as it's a bit too big for my needs now _ only 78 000 miles, in very good condition if you!re interested. Have fun and relax a bit as you re-group.

They are making creators pay to have their CH advertised in front of eyeballs.
There’s two things I’m highly suspect of.
One is the fact that we changed our travels from America to Europe.
The other I just can not mention, but if you go to settings on your Studio app you’ll see something that could have happened.
I loved watching your videos filmed in the US.
I’m not interested in Europe, although I appreciate it was your dream.
I stopped watching and unsubscribed when you went to Europe.
I check in every so often to see if your back in the US and enjoy those videos.
I really don’t mean to sound unkind, but traveling through Europe doesn’t interest me.@@outliersoverland

TH-cam needs at least 1 vlog a week 12 min+ every week for a while to get you back on track ( could make content and edit and que maybe 6 vlogs then you could probably take 2 weeks off filming every now and then ).

i noticed you rent cars and, it looks as if you rent in one location and return to another. i have needed to do the same but, when i check into it the cost is prohibited. is there a secret to it i am not aware of? should i call the rental agency instead of trying to book online?
The additional costs are unavoidable.
We could fly on to Wichita but that’s more time for travel time for Lucy so we rent cars.
