I can’t seem to find the video of you actually being in the water with the lights on great video. My son needs to replace his. I’m gonna definitely show him this one.
@@kelley867 Thank you captain and I made some videos afterwards but you have to look for them at night time
I think the lights look better without the cover.A much cleaner install and better coverage.Good job!
Yes i agree and no future rust cap.👌
No silicon in the holes of the screws before, good choice in putting some now and putting a bit on the top of each screw! Fantastic! Can't wait to see in the near future these lights, installed in my favorite best equipped adventure machine. Thanks a lot, Cap. Props Clear!!! Let's go!!! Merry Chirstmass for you and your loved ones and for sure a happy new year filled with blessings and new adventures.
You are awesome buddy thank you and yes having silicone cover the screw is extra protection for the lights from rust ,thanks for being a awesome viewer of my channel for this past year cap. And from the Crooked pilothouse Prop Clear !!!
That's exactly the way I did my installation---decades ago. Tight lines and good fishing, Skipper!
Thanks cap. And hopefully they can last longer then the old ones 👍⚓️🛥
@@OutOnTheReef Yep
Looks great and good thinking on the covers. Looking forward to seeing them in the water.
Thanks cap. And soo i will show them to you ,thanks for watching 🛥⚓️👍
Hi Capt.... nice, clean installation...I look forward to seeing how they shine in the clear Bahamian waters!.... I was surprised to see how thick your transom is. I've not yet drilled any holes in my transom (it's about the only place I haven't drilled!), but after seeing how nice yours look I might add this project to my 'to-do' list.... but then, that list is long enough already! ☺
Hello cap. And the light can help you at night fishing specially if you are shrimping at night and im sure you will do a better job cap. Thanks for watching ⚓️ 👍👍
Looking good Cap! When I know I'm going to use a sealant around the fixture I like to use tape and tape off about an 1/8 on an inch away. Mount your fixture, smooth out the sealant squeeze out, then pull the tape. Makes a perfect sealant line around the fixture and no mess.
I needed to do that cap. Great suggestion 👌
Nice job Cap, Looking forward to the next trip!
You and me both! cap. thanks for watching and see you in the next video cap.
Very good and clean mount. Now you will be able to see all the mermaids swimming around looking for you. Wait wait wait I mean All the fish swimming around the looking at you lol Capt Crooked
JT 🇺🇸🇺🇸🐟🐠🎣🌴
Lol cap. My wife will break them with a hammer if ahe finds oul😁👍⚓️🛥
Another nice project Capt I agree with you no guard I can t wait to see how they look in the dark of the ocean.
Thanks cap. And soon i will show you how it will look on the water and thanks for watching cap
You're going to blind the fish...🤣 Nice job, Captain.
Lol 😁Thanks cap.
That a nice upgrade Cap can't wait to see it on your next trip.
Thanks cap. I hope i can get more out of these ones, soon i will show you how they look 👍👍
Great job capt, clean installation, but I think the metal shields is for added protection on the fixture itself & screw holes when tightening, just my thought, like always great job & keep the videos coming, complements to the season.🙏
Very true cap. But so mutch silicone that light is going nowhere, thanks for watching and see you in this new year cap.
I have a pair of these and it was a great tip about leaving the stainless off, when I install them I will do the same, cheers Capt, Have a great Christmas and New Year
Thanks buddy and yes is better lighting without the shield and no future rust👍👍⚓️🛥
Very nice Cap. And if you are out at night and there is too much light shining up out of the top you can always put a piece of black electrical tape over the top half of your leds to keep the light from being too much at the top. Electrical tape is easy to remove for a temporary light adjustment. I hope you catch the big one!!!
Greatvidea cap. I will keep that in mind, thanks 👍⚓️
Good job captain, I second deep blue channel, the only light I would install are the lumitec. They truly are some of the best also.❤ keep safe, prop clear
Hello cap. And yes you both are right but the price was way too high 😢
I just wanna to thank your for what you do..
Thanks cap. I love to share the little that i know and thanks for being part of my channel cap
Thanks for your video Cap! I was just about to install the same lights on my boat and definitely I will throw away the covers.👍👍
Awesome cap. They will look more transparent 👍🛥 thanks for watching cap.
You’re having problems with that left light because it’s not a Lumitec😂
Nice clean job and Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Thanks so much buddy🤗 for this awesome year and you for being part of my channel cap.
Hi cap. Do you have a video showing how you wired these lights? I’m looking to re-wire my 20 yo Edgewater 265 CC. I like your channel because of how thorough you are and it seems like you aren’t afraid to try new things. I currently have a breaker panel aft with a starboard and port perko battery switch(1,2,both,off), and a blue seas on off switch for my house battery that was added later. I’ve had a couple windlasses added since the original and also a “new” chartplotter and Furuno fish finder, both of which need to be replaced. I don’t know if you’ve ever had any electrical work done by someone else on your boat, but I’m amazed at the foolishness that has occurred. Wires cut and not removed. No wiring diagrams. No labeling of wires. Splicing, no suspension of cables, lack of fusing, and on and on. I appreciate you cap. Thanks
Wow cap. Some previous boat owners dont think of future buyers and in my underwater lights the wire ringing eas tgere already but is not that difficult take the lights wire to a dash switch and take the power from the fuce bar and you will be ok ,thats the way i would do it and thanks for following my channel cap. See you on the water👍👍🛥⚓️
Good job Capt!
Thanks Randy 👍
I agree with you on the look and functionality of no cover. In Texas we have lots of floaters in the water from the rivers. I wonder how much strengthe the covers give the lights if you accidentally back into a submerged log. Just a thought.
great point cap but in the Bahamas or Florida Keys that would be rare , thanks cap. for watching
Heat shrink
Isn’t enough.
Use double sided sticky tape. And then heat shrink. Then paint it with liquid tape.
Wow cap. That a better choice thanks cap.
Very clean, quick question What kind of sealant do you use is it labeled a permanent hold strength?
yes cap 5200 but is better to use 4200 because is semi permanent
Looks great capt!
Thanks cap. I still need to try it on the clear water of bahamas to see how they look , Thanks for watching captain
Looking good !
Thanks cap. Ready for my next trio
Nice job 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks cap.😉👍
Nice install Capt. We had underwater lights like those installed before we redid our transom. We’re looking to put new ones as well. Still not sure and which style, round or rectangular. Either way, if they come with a cover we will leave it off as you suggest! 🤙
awesome cap and this ones ware cheap, i did not wanted to go with the lumitek they ware to high price and as you know we are in a budget cap 😂👍👍😉
@@OutOnTheReef budget boating cap! 😂
@@perfectfitboating boating or go broke 🤣👍👍
Going to look good cap👍💫💫💫💫
Thanks cap i will try it soon on the water, thanks for watching ⚓️
@@OutOnTheReef nice, ill keep a lookout for the upload when you get back on the water. Happy holidays 🎄🎇🎄🎄
Very nice
Thanks cap.👍🛥⚓️
Nice job. Me gustan las azules.
gracias capitan y si se ven asul como el color del aqua de las bahamas 👍😉
Lights look wayyy better. What happened to your grill Cap?
Hello cap. And the grill still there and thanks for watching soon i will try the lights on the water👍⚓️
Hello Capt.
I'll be doing something similar at some point. I opted to go with IPX8 RGB LEDS.
Just a suggestion, put a UV protectant on your LED to prevent it turning yellow from the UV rays assuming the casing wasn't made with UV protectant material. Most of the hardware stores that carry spray paint will have the clear UV spray. Or you can get a UV protectant solution and spray and wipe dry. If you go with the 1st option, I would still spray the solution on them every once in a while.
Hopefully you used 4200 or the equivalent.
Season's Greetings to you and your family.
Cheers 🥃
hello cap i used wax on the lights that protects but yes i will get something to protect them thanks for the suggestion cap. and i used by mistake 5200 and i did not read it was permanent i should have used 4200 3m, i will have a rough time wen it comes to replace this ones one day lol 😂💪
@@OutOnTheReef Hello Cap,
Good move with the wax 🤙
So long as you learn from your mistakes it's all good 😂😂😂😂
Hopefully you won't have to replace them soon. That 5200 will pull everything off with it. It works that well 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👊
@fungus4758 wow cap. I woul probably if i need to remove ot i would use a sharp blade so i dont jave to pull it👍
@@OutOnTheReef 5200😯. Man. I have a t top and leaning post glued on with that stuff. Maybe the old fishing line trick will work to get them off when the time comes.
@@OutOnTheReef Not sure if that will work well. Let me know when you do. I'm thinking the blade will dull extremely quickly. Could always have a beer in between blades 🥃😎
Nice job capt. On a different note, do you have a carbon monoxide detector on board? Although your generator is outside, we lost some deck hands years ago sleeping outside in calm conditions. I have a combo fire/carbon monoxide det. Take care
Hello, captain. Yes, I do a have a carbon monoxide and smoke alarm on board. Thank you for looking up for me, captain.
So I have a question about your ice maker that you use on your boat. How much water do you use making ice in a day and about how much ice does that make? Which one did you choose.
Hello cap. Is about 40+pounds per day, The small one that I had before. It was 26 pounds per day. So this one is almost doubled the production and it takes just the same amount of ice for water
Good job captain! I have the same problem, one of my light ain't working! LOL... I may do the same, thanks for the great video! Tight lines! Can you tell me the brand, make and model of your new underwater lights, please? Thanks again, Cheers!
I got them at amazon and they are 29$ but they dont have a brand they are easy to find cap
@@OutOnTheReef Thanks Captain. Are you happy with them? Do they light up well? How many lumens, please? Thx again.
@floridaoutdooradventures8981 i haven't use tem yet but soon i will
Hi! I would like to ask you about the placement of your front underwater lights. I’m building a new boat, i have bought 2 transam lamps already but i am also thinking about to fit another 2 somewhere under the bow. Would love to hear your comment or suggestions. Anyway love your channel. Greetings from Slovenia
Hello, captain and I do not have underwater lights in the front. I just have a spotlight. Thanks for watching and hopefully you find your lights that you need.
Fill the old holes with epoxy, new screws with 5200. Silicone is worthless
great suggestion cap. thanks for watching cap.
Great idea! What is the brand of this lights?
Larianzs cap. And thanks for watching my channel cap👍⚓️🛥
I'll never do this. But..... I wanted to leave a comment. This is a comment.
Thanks
Lol thanks cap. For taking your time to comment 👍🛥⚓️
Nice job Cap! I’m thinking of adding lights like that to my boat. What kind of silicon you use? 3m 4200?
great idea cap they look awesome at night and i use 5200 witch it was my mistake because is permanent , I should have used 4200 3m but hopefully they will be there lifetime lol cap, and have you use 5200 before ?
Hey Capt. What software editing program do you use that works for GoPro and the drone?
hello cap. i use Adobe Rush cap.
There was no 5200 on the old screws?
no the manufacture screw up cap even on building my boat Crooked 😂
What brand was the light you installed? Also what lumens?
