      Thanks. I still need to edit up the follow-up video to this for the 2024 Pro solo. Spoiler. I did a little better.

    This is great! You really know how to tell a story. I'm glad you were able to count your blessings on the way home.

      They say no one cries in a Ferrari. The Lotus is similar. No crying. But anytime there's racing, there's always whining of some sort. Just listen to those F1 drivers. LOL.
      I've set a goal for myself. Now I'm looking forward to next year's event. I already have a performance upgrade in the car - cold air intake video coming soon!

      My pleasure! Exciting to do. The Evora loves to dance around cones.

      Glad you enjoyed. Lotus is a perennial underdog. The do-more-with less attitude is what we like about them. This is just the start.

    I'm REALLY happy to hear you didn't get kicked out for sound. I was also worried about my Plack Exhaust also... and its been one of the reasons I haven't done a pro solo so far.

      Nope. Just made it by a few decibels. Locally we have somewhere in the 96 to 98 decibel range and they sort of give me a nod to pass most of the time. I've been sort of given warnings that I'm a couple of DB's over the threshold. But the pro solo decibel range is 100. And that threshold is okay. I actually brought some silicone turn downs that I thought I might have to use. Luckily I didn't have to use them. Because I don't actually think they'd work long term because I was worried they would melt. Lol.

    The irreplaceable glass 😭 Ive got a couple small chips and one deeper crack I got filled by safelite. Victory Lotus of NJ quoted me 3k for a new factory replacement (and I think that was before the labor to get it in)

    • @GoodmorningGoodnight
      @GoodmorningGoodnight  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahh. Yeah. I'm trying to keep my glass safe. Even the highway is dangerous. Lol.
      You must be in NJ. I'm sure we'll cross paths sometimes.

    OMG the Kia Niro EV in the line up. I wanted to lower and track my former niro EV. How was it?

    • @GoodmorningGoodnight
      @GoodmorningGoodnight  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That Kia Niro turned tires to smoke faster than any other car I've ever seen. Dude. Was doing full send and absolutely shredded the tires at every corner!
      I honestly don't know if it was fast. It certainly looked unwieldly at times. But it also looked like an absolute blast.

    With how difficult and expensive it is to replace the clutch in these cars, those clutch dump launches terrify me.

    • @GoodmorningGoodnight
      @GoodmorningGoodnight  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Bad news. Expensive and hard. Lol. Engine out for the clutch replacement. That's why I was trying to slip the clutch with a revving method the first few times until I saw it wasn't working. The clutch replacement will be a job I'm not looking forward to. But I'm biting the bullet. I'm going to enjoy the car to its fullest and when it's time to repair I'll guess I'm going to learn a new skill. At a minimum I'll document how many miles we have until the clutch goes. Wish me luck.

      @@GoodmorningGoodnight I'm doing mine now, with the uprated KomoTec one (bigger diameter too). The clutch slipped already for a while, but it failed in another way. One of the damper springs of the friction plate came loose and sat stuck under the springs of the pressure group. It's a hell of a job (in hours).. Just every part of the job is a lot of work, so many heat shields, rivets, bolts, clamps.. but it's doable and not very hard, it's just a lot of work. As the engine is out of the car, I'm changing my headers (catless), thermostat, supercharger belt, engine mounts etc. and a global check. So in the end the car comes back a lot stronger and better :)

    • @GoodmorningGoodnight
      @GoodmorningGoodnight  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@benniekerkhof wow. I'm impressed. Good luck. Smart to do all the little things while you have it out. I may need to do engine mounts at some point too. But for now I'm going to enjoy. And see what happens.

    • @GoodmorningGoodnight
      @GoodmorningGoodnight  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@benniekerkhof what headers do you plan to use. Putting back the third cat so you have at least one? I'm told the car is insufferable loud with no headers.

      @@GoodmorningGoodnight this is my thought as well. I bought this car to enjoy, drive, and autocross... and I'm going to do exactly that. I'll learn how to take apart my car when the time arises. Thus so far, every repair I've done has been very doable and just takes time.

    I would like to get involved but have no idea how this works nor how one scores higher or lower than others.. You mentioned Go karts, people are brining shifter karts and compeating with cars ?

    • @GoodmorningGoodnight
      @GoodmorningGoodnight  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. There's a variety of classes for just about every type of vehicle. And every type of modification to a vehicle. And there's usually a progression. If you start with the stock car and then you add different types of things like sway bars, suspension, turbo racing seats, wider tires, things like that. Obviously you don't need to do any of those changes if you don't want to, but there are classes for it is what I'm trying to say. Check online to see if there's an SCCA region near you. That's the sports car club of America. And see if you can attend an event. They're usually free to watch. You can talk to people there. Or sign up and become a member right away. And ask someone class your car should be in. Then go drive!
      And yes. Depending on the track, sometimes the shifter karts are the fastest ones out there.

      As far as the scoring goes, they multiply your raw time for the course by a modifier. If you have a more upgraded car, you're expected to run a quicker time to be competitive. Slower cars have better handicaps as you would imagine. How the handicaps are created? That's a whole different story I won't get into. But they'll do the math for you and though give you your raw time and your handicap time called a pax time. (performance auto x)
