Picked one up some years back before the prices went crazy. Most disappointed with this model. I was so tight/stiff to the point where it was difficult to open and close. I purchased micarta scales for it and went to work trying to free up the action. Checked the assembly fit for improper liner alignment, pin placement, etc. I managed to improve the action quite a bit. The knife never did drop shut as it should. The Shaman was over rated in my book and never would consider buying another.
same, have two and have never been able to get the action to be as good as my other spydies no matter what black magic I try. Always stiff with some blade play and the pivot screws constantly back out unless you drown them in Loctite
That’s what one of mine look like with matching backspacer and clip.mblack blade with this fat carbon fiber is a nice look, arctic storm or whatever t f it’s called . My other one is an avocado shaman and has to stay stock but the blade color is dope imo. I got it from Mitch Bolig channel . He had one sitting BNIB for a few years and I asked and he said I promised whomever asked first would get it for what I paid and he made it happen so thanks to Mitch for hooking ol hungry bird up with an avocado .
Dillon’s have you tried making the spyderco scales ? They can be done by hand with a mini router . Build to fit then mini router . Easy to not be perfect on the inside for me 😂 but I try
Overpriced, got a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 in S45VN black blade and camo G10 handle scales in my pocket right now. Same spine lock. Can't remember what I paid exactly, but it well under $200.00.
It is dlc. Any of spyderco's usa made knives that are coated are dlc. Those scratches are usually not scratches. Its material transfer. And wipes off. But imo spydercos dlc is not very good and thats why it has the matte finish look. But that doesnt mean its not real dlc.
Yeah, that dlc is the one applied with a PVD method (yes, it's a thing) - which makes this particular dlc not having a glossy texture, being a bit thicker and uglier, since it consists mostly of sp2 bonded carbon, hydrated. Sp3 type is the way to go, it's applied with plasma type methods, creates a nice, thin and glossy surface and is way better and harder. Also, the scratches can be the loss of material, seeing that the surface is layered with lower hardness material. That's why polishing will make them disappear.
Calling a spade a spade is racist? Try looking up the term again, maybe you will actually understand it? It is what it is! You must be a millennial who doesn't understand the term? I am a minority myself so please stop! 🤣🤦🏻👎

For a tactical hard use knife, It's hard to come up with anything that compares.
Yeah the prices went up the last couple of years. They where at 180 -200 back then. Great knife but nothing really special.
Spyderco usa models are definitely dlc coated. None of mine have ever scratched, I dont think I've ever seen one scratched off.

Yea saw this one… i will purchase pay day, Shaman is my favorite Spyderco
I am not a Spyderco fan, but I love my Shaman. That poor thing you're looking at has been abused. . .
I’d love to have a Shaman. But for the current price? Not a chance.
I understand that
Ive wanted a shaman for awhile but they keep going up in price and I dont actually need one.
