I second this that'd be awesome. Maybe have some sort of hole you can get into to get to underground levels, maybe like a sewage door or something, or just go all out into fantasy and have portals at certain locations in the city
I have an idea, what if we use the city as a tutorial to get the player to be more familiar with the mechanics, then add a manhole the player can go in to end the tutorial, also I do feel like a street and some decaying trees would be nice to set the mood a bit y'know
that looks way better but i think it looks more like a desert/ abandoned athmosphere (like with sand etc..) instead of a futuristic look aaaand make the buildings taller and the windows smaller i think
I like the idea of different amounts of space in the levels. It's like how in ultrakill the levels start out cramped and small when you only have a pistol but as you unlock more weapons and movement tech, the rooms get larger and give you more freedom to use those weapons and movement to the max.
Yep, it'll be one of the main themes of the game! The more you progress, the more cramped you'll feel, and the less freedom you'll have. This also fits with the story of the game, though I'm not quite ready to talk about that part. Interesting that Ultrakill uses a similar concept, I hadn't known about that!
With the lights in the sewers, the game feels kind of like the backrooms, where it looks man made, but has odd geometry and there's nobody else around... I really like it.
Ayyy thanks for the high praise! The sewers are meant to look like the sewage system of a kind of bizarre futuristic city, seems like that fits the vine youre taking about!
You could add a slippery surface that players side down when wall running and/or you could add sections where you have to be going above a certain speed to get to
Add some pipes with smoke coming out of them. When you are in the smoke you arent able to see very far so you must remember the level. That would look really cool!
I think it would be cool to add some yellow light/emission to some of the windows, i think it could make buildings stand out slightly more in the fog and possibly guide the player without compromising the atmosphere, and you could tweak the amount of them lit up if you want it to feel more uninhabited
Hi ! here's my idea : So you know how in real life, black holes kill you ? well you could make the same thing : when you touch the black hole, either you straight up die, or maybe you juste take damage, or it just slows you down or smth like that. So then you'll have to place the black holes even more strategically, and you can't just put black holes in front of you. Like you would have to pass right next to it but not directly in it.
The city backdrop and spiderman ps4 footage made me think "superhero", which gave me an idea. What if there was boss fights against supervillans where you had the choice to either do a cool and fun chase/fight with them or just instantly obliterate them with your black hole power for an evil option. If you don't use that idea I'm 100% gonna use it.
Small thing I have with the sewers specifically: The spikes kind of blend in with the walls, so I imagine it may be hard to know where they are until it's too late. Although this is a guess and I have no idea how it actually feels in-game, but y'know. Other than that, fantastic job on this game so far! I'm having a lot of fun watching this game grow, keep up the good work!
You didn't mention the arrows :( That was a huge improvement !! The grid texture levels would work super well as end of game challenges, kinda like dustforce ^^
try using cubemaps for the windows to add fake rooms without actual geometry. also add different styles of buildings, not just the regulat glass and steel skyscraper. maybe add a DEEP ABYSS that kills you if you get too low.
The new city looks a lot nicer but could definitely be improved with more detailed building models which would look epic also idk why but I love the lights that u added to the sewers they just make it look so much cleaner
If I’m gonna be honest this nast brown dirty atmospheric look your going for seems revoking and not very cohesive with the rest I love the retro look of the others I would love to see you incorporate it in other parts of the game and maybe make it feel a little more lively but keep the lonely feel your going for to keep people in longer you should really look into color and atmosphere effects on people and there implications❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Well it definetly looks nice… I just hope no singularity riders get lung cancer or something like that with all of that pollution XD Also, a cool level could be some kind of meteorite field where the player can go not just between the meteorites but also under them, in a way that makes it feel that there is no up nor down, like at real space
Know Myself by Patrick Patrikios and Subway Dreams by Dan Henig. The music from the intro is a part of the game's OST, which will be available once it's closer to release!
Not exactly a sandbox, though I'll probably add that as well. Generally the city levels will be normal levels with a start and an end, except way more open.
i think it would be cool if you used the city like how Splatoon uses its overworld, as an area to get into the levels.
I second this that'd be awesome. Maybe have some sort of hole you can get into to get to underground levels, maybe like a sewage door or something, or just go all out into fantasy and have portals at certain locations in the city
Or like how portal 2 has that interactive lobby in multiplayer?
One word: Wormholes
Idea: title screen is kinda like a small parallax (like the black hole moves with the cursor)

Using a manhole as a transition into the sewer levels is an awesome idea, I'll see what I can do!
that looks way better but i think it looks more like a desert/ abandoned athmosphere (like with sand etc..) instead of a futuristic look

Dark? You mean MUSTY, DUSTY, GRIMY AND POLLUTED!
Edit: make a level you can just play around in! You can just use the city!

Really cool concept!
Reflection maps make a world of difference
The reflections are BEAUTIFUL
I would add trains to the hole buildings

Thanks so much! I'll see what I can do about the spikes
Looking good!
Also, just make the buildings larger so that they FEEL like a building, mainly because the windows are small compared to the character.
You didn't mention the arrows :( That was a huge improvement !! The grid texture levels would work super well as end of game challenges, kinda like dustforce ^^
Yeah, the high tech area is the third and final area of the game
neat
i would recomend some vertex painting onto your walls with a slightly altered texture to give some veriaty to the environment

very good idea!
Congrats on your wallrunning vid blowing up!
Wish Liste now on Steam❤
buildings look siiiiiiick!
I like the original synthwave look!
Wait sponsor already?????!!! This channel is growing fast
The new city looks a lot nicer but could definitely be improved with more detailed building models which would look epic also idk why but I love the lights that u added to the sewers they just make it look so much cleaner
Most underrated chanel
For the closed out levels It would be nicer if there was less edges so it looks cleaner
epic slap bass riff in that intro
Agreed! I've got an awesome producer, that track is an early version of one that'll be in the game's OST.
@@nivmiz0 very cool, I hope the grid and sewer levels will have an equally exciting and compelling sound track

Nice
When white hole that push?
Well it definetly looks nice… I just hope no singularity riders get lung cancer or something like that with all of that pollution XD

Great video. music used?
Know Myself by Patrick Patrikios and Subway Dreams by Dan Henig. The music from the intro is a part of the game's OST, which will be available once it's closer to release!
Make a practice area for people to zooooooooooooomm around in
bro im so fucking confused? I sent you that sample THIS MORNING 0:25
is the city map gonna be like a sandbox mode in the game?
Not exactly a sandbox, though I'll probably add that as well. Generally the city levels will be normal levels with a start and an end, except way more open.
Cool
Maybe put something on the bottom of the city
Good idea, I'm planning on it!
What is the main objective in this City game?
To get to the end, and maybe collect stuff on the way. They'll be more open though, so the path you take will vary.
Wow
Gaw dam Mogorian break down mah shitty wawl!
damn well... i was late to this vid
First comment fr, this looks so sick, keep it up man
FYI, it says the game is "minecraft" Just so you know ^^
Lol TH-cam doing TH-cam things
Now it says karlson LOL@@nivmiz0
obligatory comment for exposure
Personally I wouldve just turned out the lights
Black holes overrated. All my homies do holeless runs
