    **CORRECTION** at 6:50min that breaker bar is 1/2 inch for the belt tensioner pulley on my 2017 and not a 3/8inch

    • @rwebbfsu
      @rwebbfsu ปีที่แล้ว

      Isn't a special tool needed that holds the pulley in place while you loosen and tighten the crank pulley bolt? Or can this be done safely without a Jaguar-specific tool?

    • @SuperSportMTL
      @SuperSportMTL  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rwebbfsu As long as you are limiting the rotation of the pulley to clockwise and keeping it to a minimum, there are zero issues. Yes there is a tool made to lock the flywheel, which keeps the crank from turning.

    Looks like I’m here early before you posted it on the forums haha! Thanks for the video. More impressed with your hood having no fender and bumper gaps!

      @SuperSportMTL  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya it lined up pretty good from factory but I still had to losen the hood latches to improve the alignment. It's very frustrating to align after you've loosened them. About 1.5 hours of trail and error opening and closing the hood a dozen times and making slight adjustments between the rubber ''bumper stops'' and the latches...

    Thanks for the detailed video. Deciding whether I will do it myself but it definitely seems doable over the holiday break. Your workspace and toolset is goals!

      It is very doable. Just a bit of a pain in the rear end lol Thank you for watching! Enjoy your holidays and JAG!

    What year is your F-Type? Is it still under warranty? If so, I have read of issues of warranty claims being denied due to modification of tuning and alterations. How did you get pass this concern in your decision process? Also, have you come across any seat covers? My 2017 R has less than 10,000 miles and has already started to show some wear on the drivers seat back from getting in and out. Just ordered the weathertech floor mats. Thanks!

      Great questions, unfortunately I do not daily drive my F-Type or even weekly drive it for that matter so I could not tell you that I have any concerns with warranty (over in 1 year) and I'm very careful getting in and out of my cars. I try not to drag my body over seat boulsters. Other than transmission or motor failure, the manufacturer will cover parts and labour under warranty. Just make sure you have a good relationship with your dealer. If you think they are already a bunch of AHoles, change dealership to one that you think will have your back.

    how did you get that belt on, it is impossible for me to make it fit

      I actually had that problem and was able to get a Hutchinson belt… one of the last European made belts for Velocity … shhh 🤫

    What was the total "do it yourself" hours for the crank pully installaton?

    • @SuperSportMTL
      @SuperSportMTL  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      With the correct length flex head ratchet probably 4 hours total

    Do you remember the part number of the first belt they sent you? I think they sent me the wrong belt also. 😡😡

      The new belts that are supplied are not the same. I got the last batch of the French made Hutchison belts

    Thanks for the video. I think the black pulleys all had red loctite but silver ones had blue. The red was terrible to get out.

      This ratchet with either a very short extension and your Torx head. You will also need this type of breaker bar (minimal head) for clearance issues to manage the tensioner:

    Just came across your channel and subbed. I know this vid is over a year but wanted to ask you a question. I have a 2015XKR, have done the tune and upper pulley and now want to do the lower one. I didn't see that you added an intercooler with that mod but maybe it is because you dont have the upper pulley also that I noticed. If you dont have the upper pulley then this might not answer my question if I really need to add the intercooler. AP says that in the UK I'd probably not need one, but in the US it would probably be a good idea with our Temps here, just not looking forward to removing the front bumper to do it properly. Sorry for the long comment, appreciate any advice you could give me, sick car my man. Also watched your downpipe vids and another expense I'm heading towards...lol

      Thank you for subscribing and watching! If you run a dual pulley setup you should increase cooling capacity as you are now going to run into heat soak issues in hotter climates like southern USA. I personally wouldn't run a dual pulley setup because you are now at the limit of the supercharger RPM range and motors capacity to handle that amount of boost. I just don't think the added strain on the motor and heat soak is worth the 20 crank hp... Enjoy buddy! You are better off doing light weight wheels and light weight bucket seats. Yes, more expensive but a lot more performance gains.

    • @Beemernow
      @Beemernow 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SuperSportMTL yeah I hear that, and if it really is only 20hp to the crank, then definitely not worth it, although, I thought the lower pulley added more than the top and the top was rated at 15 to 25hp at the wheels? If you don't mind me asking, why did you choose to replace the lower pulley vs the top one? Seems the top would have been way easier. Man, decisions decisions, there is another YTer I follow, Racer69 and he's got the double pulley set up with an intercooler, I'm sure it works ok, but like you said, how much do I want to push the limits. Supposedly the 5.0 can handle a little over 700hp in stock parts internals, but yeah, would be kicking the shit outta that SCer, lol
      Anyway, great channel and thanks for taking the time to reply. Living in Utah in the US, out of the two XK's I've owned over the past 5yrs, have only seen three and that doesn't help much for getting to ask people what they done to theirs...

  • @foam27

    Why not just change the lower pulley?

  • @cobras559

    Great video man. You sealed the deal for me though, if I do get the crank pulley I am not doing the work. Looks super annoying!
    I wish you can get my bonnet/fender gaps better for me. I took it to a garage, paid them a couple hundred bucks to improve it and it was only a slight improvement.
    You near upstate new york - would gladly pay you to get my gaps right.

    • @SuperSportMTL
      @SuperSportMTL  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LOL ! It's annoying but not difficult in terms of complexity. I'm sure I will be happy once completed. At least I know I'm getting the most out of the stock motor and supercharger! Once this COVID thing is over I'd be MORE than happy to get a little F-Type owners drive in upstate NY going and I could possibly help adjust the hood. Each jag is unique in the sense that I got lucky my front bumper and fenders are installed straight and all I had to do was fiddle with the hood latches adjustments and rubber hood bumpers to get a great alignment... I got lucky on that one but not so lucky with the crank lol

      Cool man - looking forward to part 2 of the install video. Also that sounds good man - would love to come down and see if you can get my gaps better. Where are you located?
      I am familiar with messing with the bump stops under the hood, but what do you mean by messing with the hood latches to correct the alignment? Can you explain that part more? Maybe I can tinker more with it if I know exactly what you mean by messing with the hood latches.
      Thanks man - appreciate the reply.
      * By the way I am (Jaguar550) on the jag forum. Gave you some props on the VAP tune thread!

      cobras559 I watched your videos! We both love supercharged V8s lol I had a Whipple Supercharged 2013 Camaro SS with rough idle cam but wasn’t filming that much at the time... Had the Cam done at Jannetty Racing in CT. Did the rest myself. I’m in Montreal, QC. A couple hours away! Shit hole place to live but tied with business here.

      @@SuperSportMTL I had my 2013 ZL1 done at Janetty's. Made 626 whp. Before that I had a 2013 Camaro SS
      1/LE with a rough idle cam, tvs supercharger, full bolt ons. Car was and animal and dyno'd at 661 whp.
      Yea I have had a ton of american muscle and was huge mustang guy - had 10 of those, shelby's, cobras, etc......
      This JAG is my first exotic and I love it man. Don't thing ill ever go back to american muscle now. The F -type is the complete package - refined on looks and raw in Performance. Its such a value for what you get.
      Stay safe in this messed up world now, maybe one day will meet up.
      Great chatting dude!
