SURPRISE EXTRA VIDEO! Thank you all SO much for 20k subscribers here on youtube! I added this video in this week as hopefully a nice surprise and thank you! I know this scene has been largely requested, so it was a way for me to give back for all the support you have shown me! Thank you again!
@@racerx3654 I hate that, personally. The plot is stupid and will definitely rely on cameos rather than unique storytelling, granted the scenes look pretty good. I also don't like the Star Wars Theory after he bashed Andor.
I love this version of the scene! As much as I love the original, this scene really reflects the anger Vader has for Obi-Wan, the man who left him for dead.
@@sofreshsogreen Agreed. I found the two videos at the same time and it helped to bring a whole new understanding of the conflict between Vader and Obi-Wan at the time of A New Hope.
It still cracks me up that Vader pokes the robes with his boot. All the emotion of the proceeding scene, and then he's just like "What the hell was that? These trick robes or smth?"
This edit was so great in how they used the score of "Anakin's dark deeds." Playing....it really brings back tears to how tragic the fall of Anakin was.
This may be my favorite fan-made video for Star Wars. That means a lot because there are a _ton_ of fan made Star Wars things out there. Some of them are really great and some of them are..... less so. I'm really really glad that you reacted to it. 😁
It's great to still see new reactions to this masterpiece. The choreography isn't only bumped up to the level you'd expect from these two, but the emotional weight this adds that wasn't present in the original (since at that time Anakin and Obi-Wan's relationship hadn't been developed, so it wasn't acted/shot/planned with that connection) makes it so much better. Even tear-jerking.
Remember watching this when I came out a few years ago and just being mine blown. What the writers of this scene thought of write down to that little treat at at the end when we see Darth Vader take kenobi'' lightsaber. Chef's kiss.
After watching a bunch of your Star Wars reactions (specifically Andor), I realize I very much need a gif of Emme saying “get wrecked” and “let’s goooo” for active rotation in my online interactions
I'm not just subscribing because your energy is so but also because you yourself are the most beautiful woman your smile radiates the earth with each grin you make ❤❤❤ I wait for the day of your million subscriptions
Congrats on 20k, Emme. I knew your channel would grow fast, and I'm happy I get to see it happen from its beginnings. This is an epic scene, and I wish this is how it actually went down. But I know what we did get back in '77 was state of the art at the time. They did the best they could with technologies they had just pioneered. With this image in your mind, though, could you imagine what they could have done with Luke and Vader's final battle in RotJ?
Love the SC38 Reimagined. Should be a much more intense fight scene. All of Vader's pain is due to their original fight. He blames Padme's death on Obi-Wan. Vader is Rage personified. Every swing is meant to kill. And when he isn't using his saber, he's punching Obi-Wan.
You're not as "late to the party" as you think. Yes, the franchise is 45 years old, but this year has been amazing as far as Star Wars content coming out. The Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, Bad Batch, Kenobi, Andor..... and we've got more coming! A lot of people piss and moan about it, but I absolutely love it! New fans are joining with us, and that's always good. Then we get little pet projects like this one that come out of nowhere, and just blow us away. Yeah, I've seen this, and I'm one of those who recommended it to you. So, I'm really happy to see you do it. One of these days, I'm going to edit that scene into a copy of the full movie, and see if it fits as well as I think it will.
I've thought about doing the same thing someday. I'm absolutely certain the video itself would fit smoothly into the movie, it's the music that has me a little bit worried. Of course it's not like I have time to actually work on it or anything.
I love how Vader "heard" Obi-Wan telling Luke to run, literally giving Vader Luke's first name. Adds another layer on top of everything else. I love this and wish Disney/Lucasfilm would purchase it, and clean it up, and add it in as the "extra special edition" - but that's wishful thinking. But of course, we'd still have the original version as well.
He didn’t say “you should not have come back”. And darth vader walked towards the blast door after luke shot it. In the original film he walked away from the door! Awesome pawesome
In my headcannon this is what Obi Wan sees when ever he looks into his future, so when the time actually comes he sees no need to go through the whole fight and instead just holds Vader until the proper moment.
I was excellent. I never seen that video before much better much improved and much better by that’s obviously move after the Kenobi series. thanks for the fun until next time.
This clip is the best thing "Star Wars" I've seen since the original trilogy ended. Anybody writing, producing, or directing anything in the SW universe going forward should take notes from this(looking at you Disney). Whomever created this(hats off), GETS what Star Wars is, and what it should be and did these two amazing characters a great justice.
I've never seen this until now. THIS is a proper Vader, the way they set him up in the prequels. Sidious wanted Anakin as his apprentice because he had one very unique quality: You need not tell Anakin "how", you need only tell him "what". He will find a way. He always does. Dooku went into his duel with Anakin thinking it'd be a breeze, only to find that Anakin was part Sith already, and just didn't know it. Anakin was pure, unbridled determination to win. He is the Jedi General that always led from the front. He's a one man army. He did have to adapt his fighting style when he was first in the suit, because his mobility was restricted, but he focussed all of that into a more Darth Bane style brute rage. THIS is a much more accurate depiction of Vader and Kenobi at this age.
If you ever want to do something similar there is a fan film called "vader shards of the past" it is really good and there will be a second episode to it.
I know I'm a little late but I just watched all your Star Wars reactions and loved them. I'd love to see you react to a TH-cam video called "Obiwan has PTSD".
Vader episode 1: shards of the past by Star Wars theory is a great watch. It takes place some time after the formation of the empire and is a really entertaining episode
Unpopular opinion, I hate that Edit. Yea it kinda looks cool, but for me it destroys all the magic and meaning of the original fight. And the shiny look of the walls, does not match with the original fottage. I think it's a good fan film, but for me it's not even close to the original scene. And atleast for me Fanfilms are cooler when they write there own stories. Anyway cool that your reacting to Fan stuff as well. Congrats to 20K, Have a nice day.☺️
Since you are starting with fan-made thins now, I hope you would consider reacting to Auralnauts' parody of episode 1-6 once you are done with the main Star Wars series!
While I am one of the people who wishes Lucas had never altered the originals, beyond digitizing and enhancing the graphics for HD. If he was going to add to it, I wish he had gone this route and not with just adding a ton of obvious and irrelevant CGI characters, that did nothing to improve the story. At least with this scene, it would make sense, since the original was plagued by so many issues, from Vader not being able to move in the original costume, the props breaking constantly, Alec Guiness's age and health, swordplay being a bit of a lost art at the time, and of course just not having the time or budget to fix those issues.
I actually agree. I do like some aspects of this though. It does make sense they would have more attuned movements and the use of the force and emotion in the fighting that is clearly present in this. I would be totally down with a more muted update to the fight in the movie.
If you're interested in another fan-made film, you should absolutely check out Darth Maul: Apprentice! It's definitely one of the best fan films ever in my opinion.
I thought this was well done, but recommend it to people to watch only after they've seen the first six movies. Ideally I'd recommend to see the despecialized (original) versions of episodes four thru six then the prequels then watch the digitally enhanced re-release versions. You'll catch other little things with multiple viewings. It was interesting watching your reactions to the OG trilogy with having watched in chronological order. You miss some reveals that are spoiled by foreknowledge or the scale of some things already being taken for granted. The opening scene in episode four with the Star Destroyer wowed audiences world wide in a way that younger people today may not understand since there have been movies inspired by this 1977 movie and it's groundbreaking technology and imagery, that have done as big as or bigger scenes. Soon you will have to do a SPACEBALLS reaction. You still have come through with a positive StarWars spirit. MTFBWY
Apparently Vader was terrified and filled with paranoia after this scene (or rather the original scene), Obi-wan was the only person to defeat Vader (which we now know he did twice), which is why he was so determined to kill him, but he didnt understand how it was possible for Obi-wan to have died and vanished and still be able to sense him, for a while he thought Obi-wan had tricked him and could spring a trap on him at any moment.
I love that this fight really ends with Vader looking around and checking Obi-Wan’s clothes like “What the fu- He was right there! Check the security cameras.”
@@emme Thanks a ton for answering. : ) I'm really sold on it. Great colors too for a white shirt. Thanks for all the uploads! I love how you had R2's back during the entire run. You're pretty darn good at this reacting thing. Keep being awesome Emme
This is awesome. I dont know if anyone has mentioned it but there is a Vader fan film called "Shards of the Past" by a TH-cam creator called STAR WARS THEORY. Easily one of the best fan films out there. The fight choreographing in this is top shelf.
Its funny, of all the changes to the OT this is the only one I don't hate. Ironic and sad that this one never made it into any of the "updated" versions of that film.
Seen a lot of people watch in timeline order just to be let down by the fight scene in a new hope... Its like yea they didnt have as big a budget and the light sabers were actual practical props they didnt want to break they couldnt go all out with it like they do in the newer films. It is hard going from rogue1 to a new hope being a feeble old man
While the original Death Star duel was fine at the time, especially considering the available effects, after seeing the lightsaber fights in the prequels, the OG fight really seems like a letdown and doesn't look like two very skilled combatants with a long history of conflict. This reimagining does an excellent job of bringing this duel up to date and better fits with what we saw in the prequels.
When A New Hope was released, there was not much that truly spoke about about the strength of the force. Yes, we had a force choke, and Vader of course looked awesome Tarking ran the show on the original Death Star. And then you see, an honest review, a very poor lightsaber duel. If the Vader vs. Kenobi was cut like this, damn… Imagine Luke seeing just a preview of what it means to be a Jedi. The cut we are watching now would have been monumental to the audience. You can’t really fault the actions and direction in the original scenes, consider it a learning for all involved. Still, if Vader showed his power and the force during that duel. Amazing and probably cranks the excitement for the next movie even more.
This fan film is incredible on a technical level, and it is obvious that the creators care deeply about the Star Wars story and characters. I don't want to take anything away from what they achieved with this, but personally, I don't think this scene fits A New Hope's story very well. By this point in the timeline, Obi-Wan is much older and more reserved his focus is on Luke and ensuring his safety. He and Vader already had their big flashy fight the Kenobi series. Granted, that show didn't exist when this was made, but now that it does, I think it's a much better place for it. Obi-Wan should have already come to terms with everything that's happened with Anakin, so there's no need to dreg up those old emotions again. The fight serves two purposes in the movie: 1, to distract Vader so Luke and the others can escape, and 2, for Obi-Wan to sacrifice himself because he knows he can guide Luke more effectively in spirit form. A New Hope is Luke's story, jamming Obi-Wan's big emotional climax right in the middle distract from that.
In a vacuum and without context I thought this re-imagining was a very cool fan film. Seeing Vader and Obi-Wan have a lightsaber duel in a more modern, fast-passed style is neat but…. the filming style/cuts/action don’t match the pace and style of ‘A New Hope’ and cutting this scene into the movie would be totally out of place. Having the experience we have now with lightsaber duels from the prequels/sequels I think this is the Vader/Kenobi fight we all wish we had gotten in 1977, however the original ANH duel is still my favorite lightsaber fight of all time. Luckily the duel in EP6 of the Kenobi show on D+ gave me the updated Darth Vader vs Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber fight I wanted. So I do think this scene is cool, but not as cool as the saber duels we’ve actually gotten from the official movies/shows.
Great reaction! And congratulations on 20k! Next up I recommend the also relatively short video: ⭐BATMAN vs. DARTH VADER⭐ th-cam.com/video/u3tC8TPh9oQ/w-d-xo.html
This scene could not be done with the original actors, they were too old for this intensity, this is why it's cool. The original, if you remember, was much slower, this is why the guys who reimagined it made it like that. It's cool, but my memory is with the OG...
I LOVE THIS VIDEO!! I wish that ther was a version of the full movie with this scene included. I recommend this video to every reaction channel I watch that enjoys the star wars movies, glad you like it Emme.👍
I just wanna know why the Ewoks were in the script, just seems like it lessens the costs that the final showdown should of felt like. But either way still better than the sequels

Story? At what point do the show that they care about story?
you should watch TIE FIGHTER its really good
In a vacuum and without context I thought this re-imagining was a very cool fan film.
I think we can all agree that this version of the fight is canon
Great reaction! And congratulations on 20k!
Next up I recommend the also relatively short video:

Yesszs 🤩
If get a chance, watch Darth Maul: Apprentice
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This scene could not be done with the original actors, they were too old for this intensity, this is why it's cool. The original, if you remember, was much slower, this is why the guys who reimagined it made it like that. It's cool, but my memory is with the OG...
This version of the fight is canon for me :P
I LOVE THIS VIDEO!! I wish that ther was a version of the full movie with this scene included. I recommend this video to every reaction channel I watch that enjoys the star wars movies, glad you like it Emme.👍
I just wanna know why the Ewoks were in the script, just seems like it lessens the costs that the final showdown should of felt like. But either way still better than the sequels
When you get the chance, react to the Bad Lip Reading Star Wars videos. They're all great. If you have already, I apologize. I'm using a crappy and broken phone. lol.
