Hosur is not Bengaluru's competitor but its companion. They have to go hand in hand.Let's think of India as a whole.Parochialism and regionalism have to be shown the door and concentrate our energies on the development of our country.

Forget about airport and railways; what about water and pollution and roadways. I think these three factors are the most important focus points that the government should take up.
At present what we can say throughout Hosur is just 'unruly' development. In the name of development, people are just going like crazy to build houses and layouts.
Water: Just about twenty years ago, water used to be not this bad. But today TDS value of Hosur's ground water is so high. For instance, Every household is dealing with salty pipelines that needs to be acid-cleaned once in six months. This is because the water table has gone very low due to high usage and thus has caused the TDS increase. If this continues, Hosur's ground water will be undrinkable in just another 5 years. What are the plans from the government to supply good water to Hosur residents? Hogenakkal water? Cauvery water? I dont see this happening. Further, the water canals throughout the town, that carries waste water are all clogged by garbage and plastic and house-wastes and construction debris. How will the waste water flow to the destined lake or collection area? If this trend continues, they will start overflowing and garbage will be found everywhere - on the roads, pathways, market place, shopping areas; which is already happening. What is the action by municipality to streamline waste management? How are people going to be disciplined in the way they discard waste?
Roadways: With this rate of development, how are roadways going to be developed? Even the roads that are busiest the entire day are full of potholes, patchwork and poorly laid speed breakers that can only cause accidents. The ESI ring road for example is still risky to take during nights. What about the narrow roads and lanes in the main shopping area of the city near the Gandhi statue? Is there any strict regulations happening to manage the traffic there? No..!! Is this what is development? When are we going to wake up?
We are already late and caused enough damage. We should be acting soon. We should be learning from other better managed cities like Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Mysore, Kochi or our own Pondicherry or Trichy. Otherwise, the city will become unmanageable in another decade

Moved here from Bangalore a year ago. Liked the change to an extent initially but I've grown to detest this place over time. Hosur isn't the place to be for anyone who grew up in a metropolitan city. They call this place a city but trust me when i tell you it isn't. In many ways it's still largely backward. People think the industrialization is going to bring change to it but that has been going on for decades with the change being bare minimum. Lacks basic amenities. Not the place to be. Stay across the border if you have work in Hosur. Better than feeling stuck here.

I wish they made more pleasant buildings as opposed to looking like a giant slum. If they get it right when the city is still small; it will grow into a beautiful city afterwards. Otherwise, more concrete jungle; more roughness; overall poorer quality of life.
