- The Boys is famous for many reasons; 1) it parodies the most-popular genre of entertainment in the world today, 2) it has Emmy-worthy performances from Antony Starr and Carl Urban, and 3) it gives us a rather realistic take on what superheroes- sorry, Butcher, Supes- would be like if they were treated how they are in the pages of Marvel or DC, in the real world. What also makes it such an enjoyable watch for us, personally, is the countless show-exclusive Supes that Eric Kripke & Co. created because each of them has a fascinating origin story, superpower, and purpose within the overarching narrative of the series. For example, within just a couple of appearances, we found out pretty much everything there is to know about Payback members the TNT twins; they’re twins, they blow stuff up by joining hands and yelling TNT detonate, and they’re both as depraved as the other and probably hate each other as much as they hated Soldier Boy back in the day, which ends up catching up to them inevitably. By contrast, Cindy is one of those show-exclusive Supes that we know nothing about. She barely has 5 minutes of screen-time, and yet, she has become one of the more popular enigmas of the series. So who exactly is she? What purpose does she serve within the story? And how exactly can she beat Soldier Boy and Homelander- two of the strongest Supes in history- with relative ease? This video will try to answer all those questions and more; this is Cindy’s Origins - Explored.

Cindy isn’t even close to Homelander/Soldier Boy level. Especially Homelander. They’re all but invulnerable (several times stronger than steel) and are massively strong. She’s not coming back from having her head punched off. If Cindy was such a threat, then Vought wouldn’t be keeping her doped in an asylum. Remember, Homelander is so strong, they kept a nuke next to him as a child.

You are thinking about this the wrong way.. She doesn't need to "crush his body". She just needs to focus and pinpoint that force. "All but invulnerable", "stronger than steel".. Stormfront got her eye plunged by a knife wielded by a human.
What is stopping Cindy just yanking Homelander's or SB's eyes out? Or choking them out, squeezing the arteries in their neck. Imagine using everything she had to grip their balls? I don't care how super you are.. None of them are THAT invincible.
I like this character, and was wondering if we'd see her again? Hell we recently saw Love Sausage so I'm hoping she'll return in a big way.

Me too but I feel like they are building her up to make her seem so powerful then homelander will pop in and kill her so easy that we are left to rethink our life choices
I would like to know what kept her in her cell. Her cell must have some unique properties to be able to contain her. It doesn't seem like anyone at the facility except Stormfront is capable of subduing her. Lamplighter is visibly afraid when he sees her exit her cell. So he's well aware of what she can do. Which means she's probably tried to escape before or killed several people who insulted her.
Only reason stormfront took Cindy down was the fact it was a suprise attack. Cindy's power is effective within visual range. I think she could've injured stormfront.
@@TheRadical459 They maybe true. But Stormfront would be aware of all her "Subjects" at the facility. Especially the more powerful ones. Since she studies them. And Stormfront showed no fear of her. Simply shocking her until she fell. Like she's done it before.
She may not be able to kill Cindy but she can easily subdue her with her lightning.
But I will agree that Cindy has the power to maim, purhaps even kill Stormfront. But Stormfront is more durable than the doors of the facility.
I just feel like people are over hyping her because she tore off some doors and popped a human.

Vic and Homelander played right into Edgars hand, he has gotten himself out of the way after setting the board with Starlight, Homelander, and Vic all poised to discredit the Seven and bring down the Sups. Right now he’s completely detached from Voight and all the dirty shit is going to land on Homelander and Ashley. He told Starlight how to use her real power against Homelander and weaponize her own rabid fan base against Homelander. He insisted that Stormfront be on the Seven knowing that it would destabilize and radicalize Homelander into doing something stupid, which nearly happened at the rally. Then he fired A-Train sending him right into the arms of the Church of the Collective where he could find the dirt on Stormfront shattering the illusions of “all Supes are good people”
I think that look on his face when Vic betrayed him was pride, that all his hard work grooming her paid off, and that he was able to enact the final step of his plan without actually initiating it himself.
The next time we see Edgars he’s going to be clean as a whistle while all his pawns are covered in shit.

Cindy is really most powerful with their psychokinetic abilities but I still think Soldier boy could take her given on all the experimentation and augmentation he's had over the years since he was captured by Russia plus he would be vaporized an entire city block
naw, all of the boys is pretty much skill based. even if homelander was a block away with all his strength, if the situation favored someone like cindy, like if homelander couldn't sense she was there, she could just crush him. you can be superman, but if you get ambushed, it's a totally different ballgame.

For example All-Star Superman when powered up lifted 200 quintillion tons with one arm and said he was warming up.
Cindy can ambush All-Star Superman all day and I’m not only positive she wouldn’t crush him but whatever propels Superman to fly would over power her telekinetic powers hold and he’d quickly knock her out.
Now Homelander is fairly confident his strength and durability is too high for his head to be popped with a person’s mind power.
And as we saw with Herogasm, Homelander is actually stronger than he thinks as it was probably the first time he had to push himself a little.
And they bring up Jean Grey who in X-Men Lasts Stand wasn’t strong enough to break down adamantium when she could pull apart everything else.
But to be fair Superman could only bend a thin sliver of adamantium in the DC/Marvel crossover.
Soldier Boy and Home Lander would both crush her like a beer can.
@@noahknight4039 if the theories about head popping and crushing being related powers, where one explodes and one implodes is correct, cindys implosions might do the trick. one of the heroes i cant remember the name tried jumping in someones mouth to kill them and butcher put them in the bag filled with coke. if it's true you can hurt the organs and inside of a hero like homelander to kill him from the inside out, the implosion crushing might kill homelander regardless of durability because it's attacking him from the inside technically rather than an explosion which is outward force. its possible she can just suck him into himself.
It's strange how no one has theorized that Cindy may have already had her powers when she was transferred to Sage Grove. She can be the biological daughter of some other major Supe, kidnapped and contained by Vought as insurance. If this was the case and Lamplighter was aware of it, he'd definitely want to be her friend, considering how he was thrown out of the 7, and probably still has a grudge against them.
StormFront knocked her out with lightning and minimal effort. She isn't as strong as you think.
Exactly and Vic has what I would consider a similar power.
They all have a weakness.

I am a voice from the future, Cindy is just a Game of Thrones level plot hole.
I dont think Cindy would stand a chance against Homelander. We've seen Stormfront absolutely anihilate Kimiko's brother, who also had telekinetic power and whilst he might not have been as durable as Cindy, it cost Stormfront almost no effort to subdue Cindy for a while. And as we all know Ryan, who probably still is far off from being as powerful as his father didn't need a second to strongly wound Stormfront. Even Victoria, who already showed that she's powerful enough to blow up Supes, didn't even try to harm Homelander, because she knows she wouldn't stand a chance. I think if all, people in these comments are underestimating Homelander. Against Soldier Boy though, I think the matchup would be more even, unless he was to use his laserbeam.
Victoria didn't blow up Homelander because she's not an idiot, not because she's unable to. She needs Homelander to remain the face of Vought, as that is the only way for Vought to remain financially viable. Victoria not only has financial interests in Vought, but also needs Vought resources to control the US government, which will not be possible if Vought goes belly up.
If we consider Victoria's power as flesh manipulation, there's no way she can't defeat homelander. She just kept him alive for her own gain.

Rewatch the episode where Edgar and Victoria where they talk about Homelander. Edgar revealed the reason Homelander isn’t allowed to be killed by Victoria is because he’s the face of Vought. This means if he allowed their strongest hero to be killed outside parties would not care what they have to say cause the one they feared the most which is Homelander is dead. Victoria doesn’t like the idea but deals with it cause she feels the person who she views as her father, who is Edgar, is right. That same episode Homelander visits Victoria and reveals that she was just his weapon. You might be asking weapon for what? His weapon to deal with any supe in emergency measures such as Homelander. Shes given compound V which she then gives to her daughter. Why would Victoria do that you ask? Victoria stated that same episode she’s scared of what Homelander may do to her daughter since she had no powers. But taking Compound V gives that girl and anyone else on it insane durability. Victoria still agrees to partner with Homelander due to him making her come to the realization that she was being lied to and used by Edgar so she betrays him. In the latest episode 7 Victoria steals deals with Homelander crap like him choking her because he’s now the head of Vought since Edgar got taken down and also Homelander is still the face of Vought meaning she cannot kill Homelander since that will ruin her partnership as well as ruin her being able to use Vought secretly which she was once doing with Edgar.
Edit: Also you mentioned how Homelander felt confident that she couldn’t pop his head. That wasn’t what he was confident about. He was confident that she wouldn’t do it then because he knew she would want to know what he had to say additionally he made a deal with her already for Compund V vile that was in the black envelope. So, he was just toying with her cause he also knows if she did pop his head there she wouldn’t get to know the information, where he got the file, and why he even had the file.

I wouldn't be surprised if they kept Cindy off the radar until the very end. We watch Victoria slowly move up the chain unopposed while everyone is busy with Homelander, and just when she thinks she's reached the top Cindy shows up and reversals the ol' head pop.

The wiki/fandom sort of describes Neuman’s powers as accelerating the speed of molecules to a point where they explode, like a microwave essentially, it requires direct line of sight and is described as tentative (her childhood friend who was a supe covered her eyes with his hands, making her unable to implode him temporarily during their brief scuffle) I don’t believe the two are meant to be closely related because the “explosion powers work a little differently scientifically than Cindy’s “implosion” powers, which is essentially just telekinetic crushing. I think people just saw implode and explode and ran with the theory even though their powers seemingly work very differently

I'm willing to bet that Cindy's power is telekinetic. Doesn't matter what the material is, she can crush it without touching it. Since she's been shown doing it to living tissue and solid metal it rules out magnetic powers. Another theory I've had is gravity manipulation. If you can locally increase gravity you can crush things quite easily, everything has a breaking point. Though, if if it was that human bodies wouldn't explode and the doors would have crumpled into orbs instead of folding in half. Gravity draws everything to a central point. Probably telekinetic. I'm also thinking the people she's killing tried to rape her or something. The general gist of the show is that human behavior is what drives a lot of the supes misbehavior and problems. Granted some people are just bad but for the most part all of the supes with issues have something in their past related to how they were treated. Either it's a trigger point or they just say fuck that noise and use their power to deal the problem. A lone female with a shaved head and clothing that looks poor or mental place-ish. Yeah, the world is full of men who'd try some shady shit.
For all we know though (as was shown), Cindy's only ability could be just to crush/crumple things...there's no indication she moves things or anything else. Its kind of limited
Cindy was number 5 on my Most Overpowered Superheroes in The Boys video. The extent of her powers haven’t been fully flushed out so it’s hard to say for sure but the other 4 entries on my vid would definitely put her to bed

@@Leviathan_Arthomelander took a nuke and he left unscratched. Since the bullets that hit Cindy pierced means that she isnt bullet proof and her skin is vulnerable. She is no where near Homelander level. Homelander as a kid was put through many hardships, as a baby he was dropped a H bomb, he was put on acid containers and lava. She isnt even bulletproof, the pressure of a bullet is obviously weaker than a nuke. You guys are the one that are overestimating a character.

When I first saw Cindy's character I thought she was going to be a WAY bigger plot point than what they made her. I don't know if they're saving her for some type of finale. But if they don't use her in a big way, the writers of the show are stupid. There's no better way of saying it.
If she comes back it's going to be as a dude, so that's pretty inconvenient, plotwise.

@@Shotokan1001 stormfront was a white guy in the comics and a woman in the show. Victoria is based on Victor from the comics who was also a white guy and is played by a woman in the show. They Gender-bend frequently so it wouldn't be a stretch for them to make her silver kincaid

Could you Maybe Cover the Comic Series „Once and Future“ ? It’s fantastic, it’s like Hellboy Mixed with the Legend of King Arthur, Mixed with Zombies . Bloody , brutal, pretty colourful, and absolutely bonkers.
It almost feels like they forgot about the character. She seemed on mission, but then suddenly vanishes.
Going from the comics, I'm 100% sure she's just a contingency plan for if Homelander got out of hand.

I don't think she'll be a pivotal character, but she might be an important one. I think everyone in that asylum was meant to be one of Vought's many secret weapons. And I hope she becomes either an ally or a third party, like Soldier Boy was.

Cindy’s powers is on a whole different level than basically everyone who can’t explode your internal organs…. Cindy Victoria and Marie have secretly broken op powers.. All they basically have to do is look at you and your dead… for 1 or 2 of them maybe not even look just think about you and your dead maybe.. Marie dont know how busted her power is yet but Cindy just looked at the back of a persons head in a car and the poor dudes head was gone short after so Cindy knows waving her hands like a magic wand ain’t what gives the powers so GG.. Cindy Marie and Victoria are OP

I think she could give it a try to attack soldier boy by doing her little move. But as soon as she would realize that it has no effect on homelander, her head would fall off after homelander used his laser eyes
From a story telling standpoint its implied she's soldier boy/homelander tier because of the very deliberate reaction we see from Lamplighter. Throughout the show its generally implied that the top supe team has (for the most part) the strongest supes around at the time. In soldier boys era it was payback, and in modern time its the 7. We see more of the 7 so I'll use that example but we see similar parallels between both groups. Basically the members of each team treat most of their teammates as rivals and while they may be combative with eachother aren't generally scared of one another, with the big exception being the team leaders homelander and soldier boy respectively who we see many group members not only defer to, but regularly tread on egg shells out of fear, knowing that homelander/soldier boy are a cut above and could kill them if they got on their bad side. We never see any of these powerful supes scared of other supes powers, in fact most of the time they bicker and fight with eachother without much worry, all confident in their own powers enough to know fighting eachother would likely be a toss up. Again the only exceptions being homelander and soldier boy... Except for Cindy. The only time we see a top superhero team level supe immediately code switch and start defering to another soup out of sheer fear is the way Lamplighter is immediately terrified of Cindy. I mean sure he retired, but that was likely more to do with Vaught trying shoo him out gracefully as punishment for Mallory's grandkids than it was him nolonger being powerful enough. And while we don't see Lamplighter fight as a member of the seven, based on where we do see him fight there isn't really any implication that his powers have diminished in any way. He should be a match for most strong supes, I mean we do see his flame melt through Cindy's steel reinforced door like it's nothing. Yet he's immediately terrified of her and defers and tries to placate her in a way we only ever see other supes do with homelander and soldier boy. It's for this reason, while the show doesn't necessarily show the full extent of her power, it strongly implies that she's on that same tier of stomach clenching, brow sweat inducing, nervous placation invoking power as homelander and soldier boy. Does that mean she's stronger than them? Not necessarily, but she's definitely probably a similar threat level, especially if she really is at least partially based on Dark Phoenix a is a top caliber telepath like the show implies.
I was wondering why we havnt seen here again. Though I’m still thinking we will get an ending like in the comics.
While Noir seemed to be deathly scared of Soldier Boy and seems to be as old, somehow I think that his identity will be key to Homelanders meltdown.
But I’d love to see Cindy make a comeback, and I’m pretty sure we havnt seen the end of her. I hope!

I cant see Cindy doing any damage to soldier boy considering he walks through shrapnel and as for Homelander not a chance he'd cut her in half before she even got near to him not even mentioning his masively superior strength speed and durability.
Neuman has a much better chance Homelander even says in the show "give it a go it might work"when he's in her apartment and she's thinking about it as she attacks from the inside out.
I always think Eleven in Stranger things didn't use her power right. The only time she actually make good use of her power is open the door lock from outside (instead of try to break the door). I mean a telekiness user should focus their power on an important thing instead of try to brute force. If Eleven or Cindy want to kill someone, their could pull their eyes out, and smash their brain. Just use her power on soft and weak part of the body instead of try to break people arm.
Soldier Boy got chocked by Homelander. Meaning he can feel great pressure against his body. So yes she can most definitely make him implode. As for Homelander unless he knows who she is and what her powers are he won’t be quick enough to cut her in half. And for all we know that might not even work. Homelander lasered Butcher while Butcher was on temp V. And he didn’t even get injured. He was just put down for a few seconds. So depending on the durability with V inside the body his laser might not even cut her like a normal person.
@@Hung_Nguyen_90 There are couple of key blood vessels in the body, including in the brain that could be lightly squeezed to kill a person or render them a vegetable or just knock them out, depending on how lightly and for how long.

@@MichoElBicho She electrocuted her.... being electrocuted is different than laser vision which btw has different results on other supes. And she didn’t kill her or even severely injure her. She just temporarily put her down. That usually happens when you get electrocuted… and still that doesn’t change anything in terms of what Cindy can do to Homelander.

She survived Stormie's electric shock attack but was clearly incapacitated by it. I don't think Stormie was using her full power, nor did we get to see if Cindy's attack can damage or kill her (and likely not since Homelander's heat vision doesn't seem to damage Stormie, although he probably wasn't using full power either). I don't think Cindy can tear apart Homelander, lol.
If his internal organs are vulnerable, wich seems to be the case, unlike Soldier boy's, than she can kill him, Victoria Newman couldn't do it because her power takes some time to work and in that time Homelander could've easily laser her head off, but Cindy's power seems to work as soon as she thinks of it so he wouldn't have time to stop her from just exploding his heart or something like that, though I don't know if she would've been able to take on Soldier Boy as he seems to be practically unkillable

@@MichoElBicho because first of all he's not meant to be an upgrade, only he thinks of himself as of an upgrade because of his inflated ego, while in reality he's just a replacement with different set of powers, secondly, unlike Soldierboy, who stayed exactly as he was when he took V, he actually ages and it is shown that he can be injured or even killed(by Soldier boy for example), while with Soldier boy himself it's unclear

I think the small air time Cindy got was done on purpose. I think it meant to show that we only saw a small glimpse of what she's really capable of. She effortlessly crushed/destroyed everything around her and that was while in captivity. Imagine how strong she will become now that she's free.
She is the same character as Graviton. Telekinesis on a molecular level. She can pop Homelander like a soap bubble. Anyone that thinks Homelander can survive must think he can beat Saitama. Don't fool yourself. Cindy can crush a city into a bite sized ball. She can create black holes and singularities. Homelander can't beat that.

Also it wasn't that Homelander wasn't strong enough to lift the plane he had nothing to lift it off of (physics that I probably learned in school but can't remember for shit now). @@Sbeve_One he wasn't too weak to lift the plane, the plane itself was too weak to be lifted. If he tried to lift the plane he would destroy it due to the amount of force aplied in such a tiny area, i think they even said that in that episode.

I'm surprised to many people don't seem to understand Cindy's character. Cindy suffers from extreme mental trauma that was inflicted to her while she was treated as an experiment in the facility. This is why she didn't got out even if she could. The whole point is that she is mentally controlled by Stormfront.
She is by far the most powerful supe in the series in terms of pure destruction, as she doesn't need a line of sight on her intended victim to make their head explodes, contrary to Victoria. Also, all she needs to do is to close her first and think of the thing she want to crush, which is significantly less efforts than Kenji, whose power is also similar.
To prove the point, Homelander said to Victoria : "Are you gonna blow my head up?" - so clearly, if Victoria could do it, then Cindy could definitely defeat him as well.
The whole point of the show is that ther real powers is how much *mental influence* they have on each other : Victoria is not gonna blow up Homelander's head because she needs him and Homelander knows that. Cindy could not defeat Stormfront because she was mentally convinced that Stormfront was way more powerful than her.
If you make a horse believe that a tiny tree can hold it's weight and attach the horse with a tiny string to the tiny tree, it can stay it's whole life absolutely convinced that it will never be able to get away. That's what Cindy's character is.
If I put my dog on its lead ready for a walk but then go to do something before we leave the house, I put handle end of the lead on the table and my dog will just stand there until I return as if I had glued it to the table. This is not an otherwise generally well trained dog.
I also had a German Shepard that wouldn't step over a tiny wooden gate that we had in the house because it used to be the stair gate when she was a puppy, despite happily leaping the fences into next doors garden she just couldn't cross this small piece of wood and it was actually quite useful if I needed to keep her in/out of a space at short notice.
Dude homelander destroys her easily, her skin is not as durable as home lander or soldier boy,they literally are as strong as steel inside out, one blast from soldier boy she’s done, soldier literally didn’t bleed once this season, storm front easily electrocuted her, which means she has a weakness even non supes can use against her, just like Frenchie did with the invisible dude in season 1, thing that makes homelander and soldier boy so scary, is they don’t have weakness that humans or supes can use against them.

I hope they continue her story. She already is an interesting character. Scary and powerful. Full of mysteries. We don’t know exactly how Vought captured all those people. The experiments were most certainly brutal. We seen that guy that almost killed Hughie extremely traumatized and scared. Vought tortured them with their experiments and burned them alive after the experiments were done. One of the darkest moments in the series, and for sure one of the most interesting ones.
