    Hey Diaphone! I am labbing the CH -> 236H -> microwalk -> 6H combo on everyone, and I actually can get the 6H on May, but very inconsistent for Millia and Ram.
    Also funny interaction with Anji. 6H lands inconsistently on Anji, and the follow up stroke H always misses. That is kinda sad.
    Anyway, nice guide! Learnt a lot from it.

    • @Diaphone
      @Diaphone  3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Thanks! I actually been labbing out a bit more... it’s more nuanced than I thought. Turns out for may, if you do it immediately it works, but if you microwalk it drops!? LOL

    • @GiganticTOFU
      @GiganticTOFU 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Diaphone That is what I noticed. It looked like when she gets hit, her feet hurt box extends out for a split second? And lets 6H hit her during that time.
      Do you still go for these 6H on these characters? Or is it too inconsistent to be used in actual play? If so, what are some other options you would use?
      Thank you again for the guide. I be looking forward to your future videos.

    • @Diaphone
      @Diaphone  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The only other option is 2H into 236s/214k. Or less optimal variants or RC. So yea I think if it can work you should always go for 6HS, the reward is just too high. There’s also character specific ranges that h stroke into 6HS works.. I haven’t fully labbed it x.x

    • @stevenluoma1268
      @stevenluoma1268 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can't ever hit the 6H on Ram or Milia or Faust, and Anji doesn't have 236 followup so I do hcl into note instead for him. I can hit it on Ino but it's SUPER tight (like 1 or 2 frames of walking I think). Everyone else seems pretty easy to connect with different timings. May, axl, zato seem to be a fast timing (like maybe no microwalk at all) and leo, sol, ky, nago, gio seem to require the microwalk slower timing. Chip and pot seem to have very easy timing (can microwalk or not).

    • @Diaphone
      @Diaphone  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@stevenluoma1268 OK I labbed it out, turns out if you have a CH before the H stroke or not determines who can get hit.. findings below
      6HS CH 1 Hit -> H STBT ->
      6H microwalk very hard on: Faust, Ramlethal, Microwalk Hard on I-no Anji
      Needs instant timing: May
      Can do w/e: Chipp, Pot, sol, ky, axl, Milia, zato, gio, nago, leo,
      H STBT:
      Can’t do: Faust, Ramlethal, Milia. I-no
      Needs instant timing: May, axl, zato
      Needs microwalk leo, sol, ky, nago, gio
      Can do w/e: Chipp, Pot, Anji (6HS H stroke doesnt work, do HCL)
      H stroke non CH has less time to microwalk..
      Hope that makes more sense...

    Excellent guide! As a new I-no player, I just wanted to share some things that I think might help other new players.
    1. An easier version of the combo at 32:06: If you're having trouble getting the timing down for the ender - j.H (OTG), you can use 2S instead and it only does 1 less point of damage. HS will net you the most damage (104) but I'm not sure if it works on every character. I tested both on I-no and both work.
    2. You can get in free damage after a throw by using any of the following: HS, 2S, S Stroke, 66 > j.H (OTG)
    3. I noticed that a lot of people tend to mash 2P when they get hit by I-no's j.S and if you're j.S is too high it takes longer for I-no to get back on the ground. So if they're mashing 6P, there may be instances where they trade with your follow ups or sometimes even interrupt your pressure entirely. Try to get your j.S to hit their upper body and you should be good to follow up with whatever.
    4. I'm sure this is common to all 2D fighters but coming from Tekken this is kind of new for me. You can buffer the inputs for your supers (quarter circle motion) during hover dash right before you land. Before your j.S connects you should already have decided what you want to follow up with. For example, if I want to do Fortissmo after j.S connects, I'll buffer the quarter circle motion during the animation of j.S. If they block, I'll be hold back so I'm safe, and if I see it connect, I finish the input for the super. I was baffled by how a lot of I-no players were hit confirming on reaction, and it's just flowcharting what you want to do if your move connects.

    • @Diaphone
      @Diaphone  3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Thanks for the tips! My recommendation is that if you have trouble with the j.h OTG just go for meaty note, the oki after OTG 2s isnt very good

    As a day 1 I-NO main, I'm gonna give you guys some advice for using antidepressant scale. You have to and I mean Have to go into the training room/Dojo and learn to full-screen arc antidepressant scale If you're playing as I-no you will run into this problem. People are going to Jump over your projectiles at any moment and Be right in your face. Learn to put the projectile in a position where they have no other choice but to block it. On wake up make it go low so that it hits them meaty( If you don't it will fly over their heads and you'll get punished). Mid-screen, make it go up and straight so that they can't jump over it.
    Fullscreen Make it rainbow, when they see it going up, it will get discourage them from jumping but they don't know it's coming back down and by the time they realize that they'll be blocking it and taking a mix. You can even make it go up and over Ky's projectile to punish him. Guys, get into the training room and practice this, it's a very valuable tool to have knowing how to instantly lock down your opponents with antidepressant scale. It's not that hard to learn, just takes a little practice. You won't be able to rush people down if you can't make them sit down. That's why the devs let us control antidepressant scale to that degree, As an I-no player don't just throw the fireball use it with intent. You can even purple roman cancel antidepressant scale to create full screen 50/50's set the fireball to go low purple roman cancel it then run a little bit in front or even behind it while you go high and watch them guess.
    P.S Keeping Chip, Giovanna, and Milla on the ground Is impossible without well-timed and placed Anti Depressant scales. The goal of I-No is to slow down the opponent and then Kick it into High gear with her mix remember that.
    Control the screen that's what Anti Depressant Scale is meant to do. Great video BTW

      Super helpful I’ve only really played fighterz so I’m not that experienced in fighting games and antidepressant was super useful early on but once I hit floor 7 it felt like I was just relying on stray air hits or forward Ps I would turn into combos. I was climbing way to fast and hit the wall harder than ever and I overlooked a lot.

    I've found that playing I-No means having to take risks and going for hard combos occasionally. A lot of options rely on very small differences in spacing and timing. Just keeping her in the air after a single S overhead long enough to condition the opponent not to block high once then low is difficult enough as it is. Her mix-up game is strong but long combos on block require a lot of effort to keep up, and they aren't safe if the opponent can comprehend what's happening. Really strong in a good player's hands, and her basic game-plan is approachable by new players as well. Definitely a 2* ease of use character, but really rewarding and fun to play even at the basic level.

    One nice thing about the Note control in this game, you have enough control over it, you can go up a bit, then down, and hit Potemkin / Nago in the head while avoiding flick / antiprojectile clone.
    Potemkin starts feeling quite sad when they see you do that.

      yeah as soon as I found out Zato has a reflect button I just move it over his head everytime, so sometimes he whiffs the reflect and I can go in for a mix, and sometimes I didn't move it up and he thought i did and got hit by it.

    I've always been one to go for characters I like and trying to learn them, but in GG that character was Happy, and he's just unbelievably hard and hurts my fingers a lot. To the point where it made me hate this game cuz I didn't find it fun but I started trying out all the characters (although I still avoided I-no). Eventually I was so bored with the game I gave her a try and despite her being the same difficulty as Happy, everything clicked. She's so fun.
    For some reason her inputs just flow super easily and Stroke the Big Tree is such an easy and fast command that always lets you either close in distance, mix up, or extends combos that it's simple but also complex. The video helps accentuates all the goodies about I-no and explains a lot. Thanks I can't wait to try a bunch of the stuff in this video and hopefully get even better.

    Found a meterless wallbreak combo in the corner that starts with an unlikely opener (6H), but I could see it working in some cases when your opponent tries to take their turn. The reason i think it's worth mentioning is that it does a ton of damage (247 to Sol).
    6H -> delayed hcl (but they still need to be high up) -> 66 j.H -> 6H -> delayed hcl, hcl, hcl

    There's an RC combo I've been using that works on most characters when you're close to the wall where you use your body to drag them closer and get into a jH -> 6H -> hcl -> wall break. Does >200 damage but it's a bit tricky cause your dash timing matters a lot.
    It goes starter -> forward rc -> dash and hold to drag them to corner -> j.H -> 6H as you hit the ground -> hcl (sometimes more than one hcl required to splat depending on opener) -> they splatted
    An example from starting point midscreen:
    h.stroke, microwalk (or not depending on character), 6H, 236H, 66 RC, brief pause, 66 j.H, 6H, hcl, hcl, hcl
    Does 215 to sol + wall breaks from midscreen using 1 bar. Not too bad!

    Do you have any tips for landing the chemical love as soon as possible in your combo at 36:01 On your video it looks like the opponent is falling into the hitbox of the chemical love but every time I do it as fast as possible the chemical love whiffs. When I try to wait slightly it ends up hitting them directly instead of them falling into it. Thanks so much for this video it was really helpful.

    • @Diaphone
      @Diaphone  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea so it’s a timing in between the two timings you are doing. It’s a bit more on the technical side. Think slight delay.

    I hope you respond to this, im new to strive and somewhat fighting games, im top 5k global in dbfz for pc and i just picked up strive. on the 236H confirm why do you not do something like 236HS > 6HS(2) > 236HS > (dl) 5HS? is it only for oki or is it because of the character size differences?

    • @Diaphone

    Any idea why sometimes I'm not getting a wallsplat with the RC combo you show off in the video? I'll see the same damage numbers and it feels the same, but they just don't splat (I was learning it against Sol in training room, with specifically the cr.S -> s stroke if that helps).
    Edit: Looks like it might be distance to the wall.

    • @Diaphone

      @@Diaphone The RC combo seems pretty hard as well, but i think i can learn it with practice. The wallbreak combo has just so many timings in there that one can fuck up. The timing on chemical is really tricky and can be done both too early or too late, and since you cant buffer the dash its also easy to fuck up. The divekick also seems like you need to cancel it just right.
