      I'm not so sure about that lol. I do have plans for a revision to this idea. So keep a look out 💪😎

    That is a pretty neat idea to add some more cooling. I have the K & N kit and may look into this.

    Great idea, I did something similar with my N/A Taurus routed a custom pipe to side like you but I used piping from intake off another taurus, used flex part of tubing and ran into side of fender... Big difference and car is happy. Side note to anyone who doesn't think a update is needed to sho intake, it is. I own a 2013 ford f150 ecoboost and added a Banks CAI, no more turbo lag. These ecoboost engines really need all the volume they can get, they love to suck as much air as possible.

      Thank you! I did revise this with a much better solution. I used the Spectre Performance Flexible Intake Tube part # 8741 and routed it down into the fender well. I will eventually make an update video and further modify the design to pick up air from the front of the bumper. It will be the ultimate Budget Ford Taurus Cold Air intake!

    I Actually added to that design where I extended the cold air intake pipe you installed to the front of the car. It allows cool air to flow into the air filter box as your driving.

      Yes! I have been working on a revision myself that does the same thing. Haven't been able to finish it yet. To many things going on at once lol.

    So, you're measuring temp only? What if you're temp is a few degrees cooler but your* atmospheric pressure is say, significantly in the negative due to the aerodynamics of the car while driving? This could definitely negatively impact your over all air density into the intake...

    How do you get all of those gauge options on your SRT 4 tuner? I have the same one, and a SHO, and I only get two gauges.

    So in your opinion based on what you saw from it, was this better than, say, the K&N Cold Air Intake?

    • @KarzKreated
      @KarzKreated  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It definitely helps. My IATs are 5-10 degrees cooler on average. Also helped with recovery times after sitting still.

    I've always been against aftermarket open air intakes coz like you said your pulling in hot from engine. . .now some time has passed did this have any negative things from makeing this mod. . . Mine isnt tuned mind you just stock?

    • @KarzKreated
      @KarzKreated  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This mod never created any issues. I did switch out the hard plastic pipe with a 3 inch flex pipe from spectre performance. Using the flex pipe allowed me to contour the bends down through that hole to the frot of the bumper. Can't get much cooler air than that! So effectively I had a true cold air intake and ram air intake from the mod.

    How badly does snow and water get sucked in there in the colder months?

    • @KarzKreated
      @KarzKreated  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      None. In this setup, it's too high for anything to make its way in there except air.

    Where is the air filter for the new pipe? I must have missed it,water and other debris will get in there without a filter

    • @KarzKreated
      @KarzKreated  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The hole is cut on the bottom of the factory airbox. The filter sits above the hole so it's also being filtered as well.

    Dude..... Why do you have exhaust wrap on your charge pipe before it even gets to the intercooler?

    • @KarzKreated
      @KarzKreated  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did that for a couple of reasons. I wanted to see if there was any improvement in IATs, and I also wanted to see if it helps decrease expansion of the rubber pipe. Finally, it looks cool.

    • @usdm420
      @usdm420 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KarzKreated exhaust wrap is to keep heat IN, no help dissipate heat. It's counterproductive to what you're trying to accomplish. You use it on exhaust pipes to keep heat from escaping into the engine bay, not to cool the piping.

    • @KarzKreated
      @KarzKreated  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's an old man's argument. It's a thermal barrier. It does keep those sections cooler than the pieces without. Not a perfect solution, but it does work to some extent.

      FoMoCoBro I’d give the reflective stuff a try instead 👍

    • @KarzKreated
      @KarzKreated  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought about it. Just looks tacky. I'd rather invest in hard pipes and have them powder coated. The only reason I used the header wrap was because I already had it. I'll eventually repurpose it to wrap down pipes when I upgrade.

    Does this mod help with any sound or performance?

    • @KarzKreated
      @KarzKreated  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely makes a difference in sound! Performance is only assumed to be better. I do not have anything proving so. But in theory, it should help gain as much as a typical aftermarket intake for these cars. Like 3 to 5 HP peak.
