    Forgot to add the amt of FO. With coco83 I heat to about 220, add FO immediately, stir couple seconds until clear and pour hot. Beautiful smooth tops. I haven't used color yet, I love the creamy white in my black jars.

      So in coconut wax, the best time to pour the fragrance at 220°f nd we should add the fragrance oil immediately?. Is that right? Cmiiw ❤️ thx, I just learn to use that wax

  • @Obe.sparks
    @Obe.sparks 4 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    It can get very tricky to work with this wax as you'll find it can get very hard to wick, especially with sugary FOs. It is best to mix it with a low % of beeswax or some other component that will make it more stable. The color and smoothness of it is absolutely great. The CT and HT are for the most part great.

    I switched waxes recently and the Virgin Soy & Coconut wax I purchased is SUCH a pleasure to work with! I don’t know why I didn’t switch sooner? I researched for months in preparation and was aware that working with soy was more difficult. But the issues I had to fix after my candles had fully solidified were making me crazy! My goal is to align with my “cleaner candle philosophy,” after suffering over 8 yrs of chronic illness and making a multitude of healthy changes. The nightmare of soy wax issues is over! I was truly amazed with the difference and couldn’t be more pleased with the results! My initial joy with candle making has returned! 🙌🏻🎉 I also have Apricot Creme wax to try as well. Exciting! Your candles turned out beautifully! Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Erica! 🙏🏻💞🕊💗🕯

    I can’t figure out the exact time to add the fragrance to get a really good got throw.

      If your using coconut 83 heat wax up to about a little pass 200 like 205 pour fragrance oil at 200 for a stronger hot throw let it slowly cool down to 190 then slowly pour you can use 1 to 1.5 ounces fragrance oil per pound of wax but if you want a strong scent add 1.5 ounces

I am using a blend of coconut wax and beeswax and the first time I pour it, its about 170F and the eco wick I'm using softened and eventually detached from its tab. I tried pouring at 160F to 170F but its still the same like the eco wicks are melting. Now I'm thinking that the only wick I can use is wood wick 😔

    Good evening! I messaged you the other day stating I was trying to start making my own candles and since then I have been watching your vids and taking notes! I have a question about your name. You told me that you chose it and then used it as your Etsy store name and that was it, no legal matters in play. How would you make sure that no one steals it and makes it their name for their company, I have created my name for my shop and wonder when I start selling if anyone could steal it? Thank you! 💕

      Even if you don’t have an LLC you can still get it as a sole proprietorship! Check out legalzoom for information on it, I don’t know if that’s the cheapest way to go but I learned a lot just browsing the website :)
      Aww yes that’s one of my favs! 💜

    Does coco 83 wax have paraffin in it ?

    • @MemoryBoxCandleCo
      @MemoryBoxCandleCo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it has a little bit of food grade paraffin

    • @khloe38
      @khloe38 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it does have paraffin. I personally think it is much more than "a small amount of food grade paraffin" as stated in the literature. Mine smokes after about 30 minutes regardless of the wick I use. And the burn is not as clean in the atmosphere as soy or soy/coconut.

    Your total liquid weight wax not 300g but 329g because you forgot to add 30g (1oz) of FO. So each candle’s weight 164.5g actually, not 159g. 😉 Ooops, just saw you corrected yourself. LOL. Thank you for great videos!
