I haven't had any issues with the vents even while in a tucked aero position. The vents are narrow so they are out of your field of view unlike the Sutro vented which have much larger vents that were distracting.
I can't get behind these having a premium price with non-interchangeable lenses. I've found that the lenses on the Jawbreakers I have had for years only last about 2 years before the lens coatings start coming off and make them unusable. I even wash them after every ride to make sure sweat isn't eating away at the coating. Good thing I can buy replacement lenses for them to keep them going year after year.
Awesome review. Just a quick one, I had the Kato and the arm broke off. The store gave me a 100% refund and I am keen to get a new set of Oakleys. I’m very interested in the Encoder. Cannot make my mind up between vented or not. I normally ride in warm conditions but want to know if you think the vents actually make a difference?
Thanks! I haven't ridden with the non-vented version so I can't say anything specific. However, having a vent seems like it should only help, and the vents are out of the way so there is no harm with having them.
I love my black ones
Glad to hear it. I'm a bit partial to the 24K gold lens, it's flashy but unique.
In head down cycling position where the eyeline goes higher are you aware of the vents in your line of view compared with the unvented version?

Do you think they will be good even for running?
Yes, these sunglasses are quite light and have grippy temple arms so even if you run they should stay in place.

That's a good point. I'm surprised you've had coating come off, the only time I've swapped lenses is after getting too many scratches on them.

@@TheSweetCyclists Thanks. I’ll give them a go and let you know 😉. Great channel.
Are those polarized?
No, the 24K is not polarized. As far as I can tell, Oakley does not offer a polarized lens for the Encoder sunglasses.
