    I always felt the proposal only existed as a way to break them up. The writers wanted Rory to end the show as a single woman, but they neglected to build up to a break up before then, so they had to tack something on. I think if they planned to keep them together, Logan never would have proposed. It existed only for Rory to say no. And for all the reasons some might comment to say why they *should* have broken up, the point is, they *didn't*. In the episode right before they were in a great place.

      I dont know, logan seemed to be getting to a point where he would like to commit to her. They had a long blown relationship, the only real relationship logan ever had. I think they couldve built it up more but it didnt really suprise me. Though i do agree that this was a dumb reason to break up over

    For a long time I wasn't sure if i prefered Jess or Logan. They both challenge Rory but I think why Logan stands out to me is that he helds her accountable. He knows that he is privileged and that rory is too. Everyone always acted like she wasn't because of Lorelai but she totally is. I liked that.

      I love that Logan let Rory be herself without trying to convenience her what she should be. He knew what it was like to always have someone trying to tell you what to do so he guided her and was there to pick her up when and if she fell without forcing her to do what he wanted her to do.

    • @alim.9801

    • @Tessiefaye
      @Tessiefaye ปีที่แล้ว +33

      What I don't understand is why people want to look down on Logan because his family is rich and he was born privileged. This is the family that he was "BORN" into. Why is this a bad thing that he isn't poor and struggling? Like everyone says he realizes that he is privileged, SO WHAT? People are jealous of that? He actually tries to get away from that and go out on his own, make a name for himself. It didn't work in the end because Rory left him and he kind of decided that it wasn't worth it and he stepped in line with what his family had planned for him all along. Logan was a good guy.

    as a Logan stan, thank you. honestly when I watched Gilmore girls I loved jess but then Logan came along and I jumped ship so fast. he was PERFECT for her. I never really got over Tristan leaving but this is what I imagined their story would be like and they were just such a good match. Their chemistry was just off the charts and their relationship felt the most easygoing and natural. He wasn't afraid to call her out and when he did that, he did it gently. their banter is just amazing and that man is just damn charming.

    I think Logan was the right fit for Rory (also Matt Czuchry is such a nice man to look at. He is aging like a fine wine). He did have his really bad moments but so did the others. And Jess was no saint either. I really liked, that Rory had to for the first time go out and ask, because before the boys just flogged around her and she did no have to do anything. I did watch just the first episode of the revival and was disapointed in the direction it went and I did not finish it yet. Maybe it is time for original GG marathon followed by the revival.

    I always thought, Logan was mature, confident, selfaware and knew what he wanted and went for that. Rory seemed not selfaware. She was kind of arrogant, but she was not secure in herself and her abilities as well as her interests. For a lasting relationship between Rory and Logan, Rory would have to work on herself.

    I've been a Logan stan since my very first watch back in like 2018. I remember before I watched, everyone always got excited for me to meet Jess and they were hyping him up saying he was their favorite. But when I got to Jess and that storyline, I absolutely hated him 😂 I never understood why Jess was a favorite for Rory's boyfriend. I adored Logan and Rory's relationship. Literally for every reason you stated and more. At this point, there's been a million rewatches and my love for their relationship never faltered. Honestly, I hated the way the show ended for them. The ultimatum didn't make sense to me, and the revival is just not canon to me at all. I have no idea what on earth happened to the relationship.

  • @sashatheelf
    @sashatheelf ปีที่แล้ว +13

    Logan was just the scapegoat for Rory's bad decisions. People seem to view their relationship in some patriarchal fashion where he was expected to swoop in and save her from the chaos she was reigning down on herself, but instead he supported her as a partner, allowing her to grow and mature at at time where she needed to do that. You see character after character [especially Lorelai] unable to face that Rory was at the root of her own demise [and I use that term loosely- nothing she did was unforgivable] and Logan maturely didn't even put the blame on Rory to defend himself, he's so zen. I love him.

    • @FemkevanDrooge
      @FemkevanDrooge 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes this was exactly what I loved about him as well. He respects her enough to let her make her own mistakes and deal with the consequences herself too. He doesn't put her on a pedestal or needs to act like a white knight, like I think both Jess and Dean do, in their own ways.

  • @BirdOnATypwriter
    @BirdOnATypwriter ปีที่แล้ว +23

    Yes! I totally love them together! I get that they have problems, but considering that they are both pretty messy people with a lot of issues, I think it's a sign of their strength, that they are so stable. They just have the best communication, like, most of there fights get resolved fairly quickly by them just talking, which is very refreshing for a TV-couple. Also I love that they support each other, in whatever they do (even if it's as stupid as steeling a boat). As someone who honestly went through a similar phase as Rory in season six (obviously less dramatic, cause it's real life) I think he was one of the few people that acted right, pressuring her to go back to College would have just lead to her pushing him away and ending up completely alone, instead he was just there for her, without judging.

    • @SerenaSkybourne

    Thank you! Out of all of the guys Logan was the only one who was willing to rise to the occasion of dating Rory genuinely. Jess was not emotionally mature or stable enough to date Rory and when she gave him a chance he hurt her over and over. Dean was good for a first boyfriend but they were both too young and uncommunicative with each other. Also Dean was very controlling and ultimately they held different lifetime priorities.
    I feel like Logan and Rory met at a time where they were willing to open up for each other. I’m so upset they didn’t end up together because they were really each other’s true loves.

Being casual with Logan gave her a lot of anxiety when he didn’t call or update because its a hugeee contrast from how Dean treated her. He was a call her 60 times a day kind of boyfriend. Not to mention how her introduction to love in her teens was constantly having multiple boys into her: Dean, Tristan, Jess, and where they overlapped.

    Princess Weekes has a video about Rory & Logan, too, btw!
    The first time I fully rewatched the show after not having seen episodes in years I was like, _oH? .... why am I so into Logan? Where is Team Logan?_ And while I do like Jess and think they are good for each other to an extent, the timing was not right for them and especially taking into account the characters at the time of the show I've come to prefer Logan over Jess for Rory. And I've also found others who have sort of changed their minds or become more open to Logan. I swear when the show was airing and in the years before the revival everyone was either Team Jess or Team Dean and hated or was indifferent to Logan. But now it seems everyone hates Dean and Team Logan has finally shown themselves. I also think this may be because of the maturing of fans. Like, this show aired when I was in elementary and middle school but I rewatched it in my university years. Maybe fans liked Dean and Jess more at the time because they liked that first boyfriend feeling and whirlwind, and even that idea of two boys fighting over you. But now we're past that and recognize how awful Dean was at times and the projections he put on Rory, and how Jess needed time and space to better grow and mature for himself before focusing on another person. I started another rewatch a couple years ago but got caught up in other things and shows I hadn't seen before. But now I need to at least continue up to the Logan episodes!!

    Re: Logan and him wanting Rory to go back to Yale, I'm going to have to disagree with you on that. I know that many people dislike Jess's approach to confronting Rory on the sudden change in her life but to be frank, Logan's approach was far from perfect either. To me it felt more dismissive and disinterested on his side than him being genuinely supportive, because a) he doesn't really ask WHY she chose to suddenly drop out, she doesnt directly tell him it's because of his father and Logan never prods into that (which Rory later takes it as him silently *agreeing* with Mitchum in her downward spiral; this doesn't necessarily mean that he does, just that she doesn't fully communicate with him about the issue at hand and he never tries to do so, either), b) he doesn't really take it seriously that she is considering to DROP OUT of Yale, not simply take time off, despite the fact that this is what Rory insists on multiple times. I know that the overall Yale arc in season 6 does make it look like Rory was simply taking time off but it certainly didn't start off that way because she and Lorelai got into a big argument over Rory *dropping out* of Yale and not wanting to continue with her studies at all until she "figured out what she wanted to do that wasn't journalism", since she considered herself not good enough for that once Mitchum told her she wasn't. And once Rory moves in with her grandparents, we mostly see her being idle and depressed; she isn't really setting out to find a new life plan for herself or a new career or even some other drive for her, she's stuck in one place and Logan sees that and doesn't really concern himself much with this in spite of that being the opposite of how Rory was like, even in season 5. Now, I don't technically blame Logan for Rory's decision or her not getting back to Yale until Jess visits her, because his very lackadaisical approach just reminded me of how he approaches his own life: his father has everything mapped out for him, so he technically has no need for a motivation or interest in his career, he has everything done for him and this negatively affects him to the point where he has these very severe coping mechanisms to deal with the mental toll of that. But he takes this similar approach to Rory's issue at hand and I honestly don't think that's what *Rory* needed. I think Jess's visit was necessary in a way for her to realize that she can't just let an older, more powerful man like Mitchum tell her what she should or shouldn't be if she wants that for herself and achieves it. In a way, thats what Jess did; he went against all the stuff in his personal life that indicated he was meant to achieve nothing; even Liz and Luke who in a way "gave up" on trying to push him for something greater. And yes, the argument scene doesn't look the greatest but to me it felt more like Jess was concerned than scornful towards Rory for 'not fulfilling what she needed to do'. Like when you look at someone who used to be so driven and also very emotionally close to her mother, and is now languishing with her grandparents and having to worry about who she invites in the house, it's clear that something isn't really right. I think that it also didn't help that Rory simply didn't seem like she was fully happy with her situation either; like saying it was "all temporary", being embarrassed over her involvement with DAR meetings.

    Okay and maybe hot take?? The boat thing was almost entirely on Rory!! He literally gave her like three push backs before she pressured him into agreeing to take the boat. She was being an absolute idiot and it’s her fault.
    She was distressed and feeling bad and she said basically that it was the only thing that would help her feel better! He only did it because of that. Otherwise, he was showing maturity and restrain and it was all her.

    I mean, I always appreciated their relationship. However, I can't ever say I like them together. Mainly because Rory thrives when she has nothing. Anytime she is spoilt or life hands her success too easily...she spirals. In contrast, whenever life was hard or she was without, she found her strength and inner motivation. It's for that reason I think Logan isn't the best fit for her. Even in the revival, her literal light at the end of the tunnel only came when she for the second time walked away from all the privilege in her life. This is what Lorelai realized about Rory that she waited for her to realize about herself. Rory's problems are always heightened the closer she is to the privileged world she was introduced to through her grandparents.

He would've never cared that the Daily news didn't put out a paper that day. And he would've never tried to go for his dream for a bit unless Rory has made an impact on him. But before that? There are only stories of him being a rich brat who's only trying to forget how much baggage that comes with. He can't even choose his job, his wife, or anything really so of course, he acted out. Who wouldn't? But after being like that for so long, out of pain, and powerlessness he picked up a few things. He didn't stand there quietly, asking, like: what? It's like he just realized what he's done and how his ways are incorrect by being near Rory once again and had no way to explain it because to him too, stealing didn't really make much sense cause the rich didn't even ever notice they stole stuff so why do it? Also, remember his apartment? Every item had a personality. That armor he has in his place is a metaphor if you think about it and also...it's not the best armor. Not once did Rory ever praise his paintings or anything as she did at his parents' house. It's all him. So in a way, yeah. He saw all that rich stuff and went: they wouldn't notice because rich people in his life literally only got stuff because they're rare and expensive. But stealing it was his friend's way of hurting their parents without them noticing and he did that there too. Only to realize that...Emily is rich but she cares about what she owns too. Her family, too, is new to him so he doesn't know how to react either. They're not the same as his parents or most rich people he's met. They're also: unique so he's kind of embarrassed. Also, this was his moment to impress Rorry's family. Yes? But how did he impress the people he ever wanted to impress? His friends. A...stealing stuff from the people they had to obey or else they'd get no money seems like something they'd like.
    Reason 4: treating Jess badly.
    I thought it was self-explanatory. Did Jess deserve it? No. But that was the point. it had nothing to do with him. Logan was in a really bad place then if I remember correctly because his parents were pressuring him into stuff and also, he was jealous but angry this time. The first time it was cute? When it was a friend of his but which we didn't really know much about if anything. Now,, he's an ass because he tried to directly offend Jess, who we know more about, and like....we got offended instead. But he was trying to make him seem lesser in Rory's eyes with every comment. The same thing he did the first time he got jealous when she showed up with his friend so she'd ditch him. But there it was less angry. Here, he can't hide his anger because he probably taught they were past this. They were dating, not only 'friends with benefits'. And when he failed to make him look bad because he wasn't his charming self, he left because his tactic failed. And anything else he would've done would've made it worse. The only way he could've calmed down and leveled with Rory to explain what he felt or whatever was if she went home with him where he would've felt safer, and Jess would've been gone. But she refused.
    (Ps: Rich people are mean in this show. You've seen how his family treated Rory. And how Emily treats others. Well...he knows how to put others down. He's had training. He basically told Jess that unless he had a billion-dollar company, nothing he does is ever good enough which is what he's probably been told. That's why there was a line like: is it the greatest American novel or nah? Like he had to aim high or else, what are you celebrating? Basically, it's not worth it man. Not to mention, he himself, was upset at his parents then, I think... but he's had to deal with that his whole life, so he took out not only his jealousy on Jess but his insecurities too. The ways he's been belittled. Also...did we all forget how Jess had fought with not only Dead but anyone before...like anger-wise, Jess was in a good place then. Logan wasn't. They are both capable of controlling their anger, but in that case, for the first time, I think, might I add, Jess, controlled himself. But Logan couldn've lashed out a lot of times and didn't do it)
    Also, him forgetting that they cheered made me think he was already drunk, more than anything.
    -Sleeping with his sister's friends thingy. I think it was the easiest for him to do. They were close to someone he knew so he didn't have to go out of his way to find someone. Accessibility. And from the viewer's point of view, it kinda shows how little he cared about who it was because they were so close to his own sister and yet, he still did it. And he called them that because for him they were worthless. Just like a bottle of something is worthless when you're trying to get really drunk because of someone. They're just a device to forget someone important. And by calling them that, it also diminished their importance to Rory's eyes. Not to mention, none of them were able to get him. Like none of them did anything but sleep with him. So...what does that say about them? I am not saying he didn't do anything wrong though or that he's justified even though he was in a lot of pain after losing the only real thing he ever got for himself, by himself, but they all said yes too. They were all in it. Consensual. He proved he cared about consent. So... he was in a lot of pain but they weren't. So...who was using who?
    Reason 6: Coming to terms with the relationship with his father.
    Of course not.
    This show showed years of everyone's lives. Nothing that complicated could've been solved that easily. That wouldn't have been realistic. And that would've really taken years of him hating himself for being someone who he didn't want to be for his family to get him to rip himself from his whole family, friends, current job, and lifestyle really. All he's ever known. Rory's mom was young when she left but Logan's youth was spent in their claws. Imagine Lorelay if she did abort the child and kept living with them. A mess right? Cause they had similar conditions but Richard never pressured her to take his job, he pressured Christopher who refused. But Logan couldn't refuse. He was the guy of his family. And he didn't have any life-altering event that could've allowed him to go right or left early on...like having a child. He had to cope. And he chose to cope too. Instead of escape. He's similar to Rory's mom but different because he chooses to keep playing the part his father wanted him to play even if it was to 'have fun while he still could because his father didn't care enough yet'. And also why Lorelay hates him. Because he didn't have the guts to say no to his rich life and family for good. Ever.
    It's 4 30 AM. Why did I write all of this? Because I felt like you didn't realize all this or just didn't mention it. But I kind of get where he's coming from so I can see through his actions more. The pain of him being in his family's claws cause like, he is literally, clearly numbing the pain of it while he can until he's no longer allowed to do anything but work until death...well...for me, I got it. I get him. And I think people saw him as just someone who just gets drunk a lot and complains about his money. But it was never about his money. Money does make your life better. But in this case, all he got is money at the expense of everything else and that hurts. Like I'd rather not be rich than not be able to do the job that I want, spend time with who I want (cause they criticized his friends too), date and marry who I want, etc. Like his life is not his own. All we saw was this brief window of breath he had before his dad would've slammed it in his face. He literally said that his father had it all planned out for him so why would he study? Why would he do anything else? It wouldn't matter. Having a girlfriend? Why when they would choose someone else anyway? Probably someone who made sense business-wise and nothing else. Like...think about it. It would suck. Also, his father is a famous, rich, notorious, well-known journalist. Like...he can get dirt on anyone so of course, they're going to listen to him if he says: fire my son 'cause then he'll work for me. Like..there's no place for him to go, man. Or not a lot of places where he'd feel lie he's worth anything after being instilled with the: you gotta make a lot of money or else you might as well serve drinks. His worth it's attached to his job, money, status, etc. And they could all get taken away at the snap of their fingers.
    Go watch the rest.

    Logan never wanted Rory to be a stay at home wife. I cannot agree with that as a valid reason for people to dislike him, because it was factually untrue. His family said that's the kind of wife he needed. Logan never said or indicated he wanted that. You said why he didn't push Rory to go back to Yale. It wasn't because he would be making a lot of money so she didn't need a career. No, it's because he believed she would eventually go back. And I don't think he felt taking a break (because he saw it as simply a break) was this crisis that everyone else did.
    Even in the totally contrived proposal, he showed he wasn't looking for a stay at home wife. He made a point of telling her she would be living close to two newspapers that she could work for.

But it was obvious in all his actions that he didn't want a housewife and wanted her to work. I would even say him trying to marry her and move away together was a way to open doors for her away from his father. I don't think he would have pressured her to take his name but he wanted her to be able to make it.

    I will admit, being quite young when I watched the show--I loved Dean and held onto that idealization of first love for too long. I will still hold that he was a good first boyfriend for Rory, and was wronged by her behavior with Jess. But even after they sank the Dean/Rory ship, I was bitter towards anyone else Rory might like (although I did think for a bit that Marty could have been a genuinely nice guy). Instead of realizing Dean and Rory were over, I really saw Logan as another Jess 2.0. Just another bad boy making Rory act out, coming between her and Dean when in my young mind "after all the mess they caused to BE together, they should at least STAY together... they just need to work things out without Rory getting distracted by bad boys"
    ...Growing up, means I NOW realize now that there was no going back to what Rory and Dean once had. The innocence was gone. They'd grown apart. The compatibility was gone.
    And I will still hold that I don't really get what Rory sees in Playboy Logan initially, other than looks (I also NEVER EVER understood what she saw in Jess). And I will admit that the Life Or Death Brigade is not really my idea of romance. BUT!!! I am not Rory!!! I've come to fully appreciate the way that Rory and Logan fit together and work well together and grow together. Once they are in a committed relationship, they are so adorable together. They have such good chemistry, and they can talk about anything from pop culture to work to family to books to disagreements. He respected her mother and stood up to his family for Rory. As I've grown up, I've become fully on Team Logan, and I believe not marrying Logan was the biggest mistake of her life.

    I'm a year late to comment here, but this only popped up yesterday in my feed. I LOVE your viewpoint on Logan and agree with it all. Tku! Best defense of the L&R ship I've heard to battle so much hate out there for him!! I wanted them endgame too. I love your in depth and nuanced analysis of him, good & flawed, all while still loving him best with Rory. (Everyone in GG is flawed!) Anyway, I agree. I love him. I get your assessment of Jess too...fair. I also liked Dean as the first bf, and understood why he behaved as he did eventually...he sensed her slipping away and not being honest. I always say I have never "hated" any of the GG characters...though I wasn't a Jess fan in S2, but I still agree about the chemistry, and the purpose he served at that time, the bad boy, exciting, unpredictable guy attraction. I also understand his bad background, youth he outgrew eventually. So glad he became a better man. Still, I liked them better as friends...still saw her with Logan. Hated that they broke them up, (unrealistic, as she was so in love with him & seemingly just "moved on.") Then what they did in AYITL. In my mind...it's his baby, which I believe it really is, and they DO wind up back together. I guess you're done with GG deep dives, but I'd have loved to have heard your assessment of Lorelai's relationships, especially her and Luke.

I always thought he would be second choice, but I just thought that Rory does not want to be a socialite fulltime. That would be her position as his wife. But if the show went on they could show her growing into being able to do that role. As long as she would be willing to become her grandmother then he would be perfect. But if she ultimately wants to live a similar life to her mother then Jess would be great. Thanks for this video, it really opened my eyes.

      I really liked dean in the pilot but felt like he immediately started a downward trajectory. It's subtle at first but by season 2...oh boy, season 2, they did a character assassination on Dean. It's like he's not even the same character. I'm pretty sure the writers view Jess as Rory's Luke so anytime he's around any and all other boyfriends just start acting crazy for no apparent reason and their characters do a 180. Don't get me wrong, I like Jess, especially in the later seasons, but they definitely make the other guys look bad to prop up Jess whenever he's around. I also really hated Dean the second time around when they got back together after he cheated on Lindsey. Also, we need to understand if Gilmore Girls is really like what the revival says - written from Rorys POV - then the introduction of Logan makes sense. She had never met anyone like him before so everything about him is avant garde and out of the world. He might have had an opinion on blue collar workers but Rory - so shell shocked took what he said perhaps made it more jarring than it was. Which also shows his slight/softening of his character over time because Rory slowly got used to his Chuck Bass-sism and grew to be "One of them". 35:05

    Serena, I truly like that you talk so in deep about Gilmore Girls. I am definitely thinking Jess understood Rory the way no one else did, even if he wasn't ready for a long-term relationship. My thoughts are the following: Rory was not formed as a woman when dating Dean and Jess, although it was clear that with Jess she felt a different kind of attraction, something more spicey. And later on, unfortunately, I do see her as kind of lost. She has some things she believes in, but she is also quite lost and not grounded, so it felt like she was with Logan because the script was like this, not because she was truly having crazy attraction towards Logan. Maybe if Logan was played by another actor, the attraction would have been more believable. Rory is in constant search and feels insecure to me.

    another reason that I didn't initially like Logan which wasn't mentioned: envy.
    he's handsome and charismatic enough to overcome that awful first impression. most guys would not be able to dig themselves out of that hole.
    i understand he only has a little influence over his looks (but that's aided by money) and that his charisma was developed as a way to help get out of trouble and avoid accountability... but he can stop being irresponsible and still have the charisma he honed in his rebellion youth.
    i wouldn't make many of the mistakes he made, but I'm envious of the people skills he was able to gain while he was protected from failure. therefore I initially hated him.
    Rory is not the prize they portray her as, she'd be a hard woman to live with. so it's almost like he gets karmic punishment by being entangled with her. so knowing how it plays out, i kinda like the character.
    he has many admirable qualities and a lot of lousy ones, which are treated as flaws. so he's a decent character for a television show (still wouldn't want him in my life though).

    Logan is by far my favorite of Rory boyfriend, and is only threatened by Luke for favorite character. I go back and forth with whos 1st and 2nd
    But Rory and Logan are my favorite couple by far

    I find Logan the most interesting of Rory's bfs, but I think he is disqualified because I dont think he can REALLY walk away from his family's money or narcissistic hoovering and will forever be manipulated to make choices against his heart, including Rory, however much he hates it.

    My take is: Logan and Rory should be together, because Jess deserves better than Rory.

    Actually, even if I liked them as a couple, i felt the ending of it made sense. I was a little sad that she wasn't willing to marry him, but still, it made sense that he didn't want to go backwards and I never felt they would have had a great marriage in the long run. I also felt like she never truly forgave him for "cheating", to me she never completely built the trust back, and because of that she was talking to Paris about choosing the career first even before the proposal.

    My take on the 3 boys in Rory’s life:
    Dean is a great crush
    Jess is a great boyfriend
    Logan is a great husband

    I agree with you completely. Logan and Rory were perfect for each other. Dean was too insecure and Jesse too temperamental, but Logan was someone who understood her and let his love for her guide him towards becoming an adult in an organic way (as opposed to "I'm gonna pretend I'm what she wants so that I can get what I want out of her" kind of way). The ultimatum part wasn't great -- although I completely understand his mindset, it is difficult to come up with a logical reason to delay starting a life with someone you _want_ to start a life with, and Rory's reasoning here makes no sense to me -- but it was even less great that Rory was revealed to be the person who only wants what she can't have, which didn't feel true to her character either.

    The last season of the show wasn’t written by the shows creator and show runner. The network fired her for whatever reason and she hates the last season. I would have loved to have seen what she did with it. Although after the new stuff on Netflix I don’t know that I like how her characters never really change and eventually become the villain because they keep repeating the same pattern over and over.

    As far as AYITL goes, we must take that as cannon because ASP wrote it. However I think it seems odd and off because of ASP would have written a Season 7 and maybe a Season 8 these plot lines of AYITL would have happened to Rory at age 21/22 rather then age 32 and would have been accepted more smoothly. ASP wants Logan to be Christopher and Jess to be Luke. ASP wants Jess to ultimately be with Rory like Luke is with Lorelei. She wants Logan to maybe reluctantly propose to Rory like Christopher did to Lorelei when he found out she was pregnant. ASP wants the plot to come full circle and as much as I love Logan and can’t stand Jess, our boy Logan will not wind up with pregnant Rory, loser Jess will.

    Rory crying on the bathroom floor doesn’t show that she really cares about Logan it shows that her childhood trauma is triggered. She’s desperate to get the attention and affection from this unavailable charming guy. Rory is just another person who feels she has to earn love. It makes much more sense why she had trouble telling Dean she loved him. It probably felt to easy for her and like she didn’t deserve it. Bad boy Jess probably attracted her because she felt she could fix him and make him the perfect boyfriend. And now here’s emotionally unavailable Logan. And once he charms his way into her heart and she’s hooked, every time he pulls away she will get triggered to try to win his love and feel worthless when he doesn’t give it. It’s fantasy land to think that these types of relationships with these types of guys can work. It doesn’t. They break your heart and you end up writing a 10 minute song called All Too Well.

    I adore Logan. Was he perfect? Of course not. No one is. But he got her, he challenged her, and he loved her.
    Rory was a fool not to marry him. She would have had a great life instead of floundering around and sleeping with Wookiee’s!
