Mmm to me at least, I love kill clip on this gun, suddenly starts to 2 tap anyone on the lobby
not really just don't use it like a dmt, DMT feels like a waste sometimes cause you ain't procing its perks but still a good gun the hipfire is always a good backup , its a scout not DMT use it like a scout. Kill clip and instrument does make it stand out

@pecador_cont no cause they are already dead or ran away before the perk can really kick in lol. DMT is more versatile thx to the hip fire but if you actually lane it like a scout then it can feel abit of a waste.

the bloom of the hipfire accuracy cone just kinda kills the efficacy of using hipfire as a viable strat anyways

Bakris is excellent at countering the main issue with kill clip on this gun. Dodge to reload and proc killclip and 4x stasis surge at the same time, and you get a solid 10 seconds of protection against 10 resil, with a relatively short cooldown between dodges after that. Most of the time this happens for me naturally, where I'll get one kill and be pushed, dodge to make space, and then have a two tap regardless of who is pushing me. Definitely solves my one issue with the roll.

Dude always my thoughts. I do use it in PVP for fun, but about halfway through I still swap to a 140 HC. That Dire Promise that our boy the Gunsmith had has been doing me well. Favorite hand cannon from launch, and it's such a fantastic roll for it.
I been farming demo/headstone. Still no luck. I got mostly pvp rolls. I never use those kind scout during pvp. I guess I will try it if I like it.

Deathbringer is still really good in crucible. I’ve got a lot of 3 or 4 pieces with it but sometimes I get 0. Try it out.
Personally I'm really enjoying The Prophet a lot (Hip Fire/Kill Clip for best of both worlds) primarily due to its aesthetic and multitude of options. Not to mention it's receiving enhancements come the next major update meaning a lot of its important perks will likely grant greater results!
FINALLY I was looking for someone to review it.
I started to sweat this weekend in trials then I looked up the rolls for this thing. I immediately stopped caring I’ll be back next weekend
I personally like The Prophet. Been using it with an empowering rift and sanguine alchemy, so I've been chunking people out in trials. Even if I don't get the kill, the damage is ridiculous. Did get a few child of the old god kills with your briarbinds build though lol

That was exactly how I felt with this weapon, my first roll at the lighthouse was rapid/killclip and that was it, it's really annoying to don't be able to two tap even with killclip most of times, always hall of the lobbies are void titans. The only good thing that I have tk say is that the recoil pattern is better than his big brother DMT. Cheers!

As someone who uses wicked implement in crucible at times (too lazy to switch off stasis mods) this could be a decent longer range replacement if the 150 didnt do about as good as it.
Wicked Implement is superior. Dont even bother. With the higher TTK Wicked Essentially got buffed with the update becuase it can activate the slow that it couldnt before.

Prophet has its niche for stasis builds. I tried a demo/headstone roll with the osmiomancy build for warlocks and it felt good.
I also enjoyed the high handling and clear sights for the gun--makes it easy to team shoot on smallish maps like Jav-4
Not the best gun in the game, but I'm sure it will develop its own cult following
Makes for better precision kills with headstone that it does with Unending Tempest or Horror Story. I've tried. This scout has the benefit of working well long and close range.
I'll still run Verglas and Wicked Implement but whenever I need an exotic for my special or heavy slot, I'll dust off The Prophet.
Im chasing that pve roll for my adept but id only use it if scouts are the champ mod for that season.
I actually used a headstone one in trials and I like that if you get the headstone kill you block their res until they break the crystal.
The thing to remember about hipfire grip is that it will be enhanceable come TFS, enhanced hipfire on brigands law is cracked so I can only imagine how it will be here. But I do agree that with just normal i might as well just use DMT
I have rapid hit and kill clip but even with a good roll it’s meh. TV’s assessment is spot on.
I havent played with prophet yet, but I LOVE long arm! I'm partial to lever action designs, but, I've had a rapid hit explosive payload roll that I used in pair with peacekeeper smg just for peaking longer lanes and flinching snipers. (I would have used a sniper but I miss too much for all that lmao) Fingers crossed on a demo headstone roll for pve!

If you're really looking for those two taps you could run bakris, get the kill, use your dodge and now you've reloaded for kill clip and procced the bakris buff which would be enough to two tap any resilience. Still gotta jump thru a couple hoops but at least you proc them at the same time
The play for 6s and this scout with kill clip is to use aeons for the class ability regen on ally death. Then spam radiant dodge all match and always be 2 tapping with the 10% damage buff. Pair a heliocentric heal clip kill clip and you’ll be set
I have a roll with both headstone and kill clip in the 4th column. I like kill clip better for comp and headstone for trials. Just cause headstone can block revives. However I don’t think people expect to get 2 tapped with kill clip and it’s so fun ✨

I use a demo kill clip prophet with trespasser and bakris it’s pretty awesome once you get that surge on demand with the bakris dodge
I love 120 scouts. Pairing Necrochasm with Long Arm feels awesome, and doing Last Rite with Prosecutor or a sidearm feels equally as good. Goona definitely try for an adept just to have, but with Trials and my current skill and time after working full time, if I get a solid non adept I'll probably still use it frequently.

Get one with hip-fire grip and cascade point, while using linear. Cammy Recommend it. It's actually really great combo.

Box breathing hung jury is good to get a pick in trials or comp. This is a 6s kill chaining weapon for mid to long range maps. Ive had a lot of funning chaining kills with it in 6s.
It has a red dot instead of the iron sight post on DMT that requires you to obscure most of your target to get a headshot.
7:30 and this is why I love Deathbringer in pvp, also you're a monster for doing that to those poor enemies XD

I won't lie I love my discord cascade point role. It's so much fun. Using it with trespasser it's incredible. After a kill I can either blast with the sidearm or if they're far away get a 0.6 ttk
I really want these Tex Mechanica Hip Fire weapons to be great. No matter what I try, the Spire sidearm, scout now the Prophet, these weapons need another pass.
Maybe not the weapons but the Origin Trait or at least give us an exotic armor that feeds into hipfire.
how do you recommend crafting dead mans for controller? right now i have lots of range and handling with moving target but one of my friends said to go for stability
Still Prefer my Long-Arm with Polygonal Rifling, Steady Rounds and Under-Pressure, High-Impact Reserves. With a Stability Masterwork.

I got a demolitionist + Kill Clip/Headstone roll. Wish it was keep away but now I just have a solid pvp and pve roll.
I have an Unending Tempest that has Demo/Headstone and Dynamic Sway/Tap the Trigger all on the same roll.
The perfect PvE and PvP godroll.
Mask of bakris hunter is the key. You dodge to proc kill clip and the stasis damage buff gives you the 2 tap
Discord + cascade point. Play a dueling roll (without a kill perk) in energy slot. Flip to this on kill and delete whatever you look at. This is the real fantasy I believe Bungie was intending with this gun. Especially given what DMT is.
I'd like to get a hip fire/ explosive payload roll and see how that turns out, was hoping he'd cover it but yes if I get it cool if not oh well
It's actually better feeling than dmt for certain maps because the perks it contain and the last rite is arguably even better

Should’ve had offhand in the first column to pair with kill clip. The Tex Mechanical intrinsic needs to flip its function. Full send the hip fire.
I really want a hipfire one because in the next dlc we will be able to enhance it and apparently enhanced hipfire is SOOO much better so i want to see what it´s all about.
Yeah id agree with you, i got an adept versuon with rapid hit golden tricorn/offhand strike which i wont be grinding for another one as im not a fan of this architype - i have a regular enlughtend action kill clip version which ill keep that and golden tricorn version as well the rest I'll dismantle
I love using this with Bakris and have been outgunning Midas and basically any scout in the game. Got it late last night and already have 400+ kills on it

If they fix hip fire I'd like it more. I got hipfire grip off hand strike but I just can't hit head shots from the hip consistently enough. Gun has potential if they adjust the hip fire cone for console.

Sounds like a vault until buffed. But the headstone one does do well in pve

There are two reasons I even sort of paid attention to this gun: The ease of activating kill clip, and headstone dem, both for PVE.
If you really want to hit fire like your Chuck Connors in "The Rifleman," That's what DMT is for. I don't understand all of the DMT lites.
Personally, I like these scouts and I wish to main one at some point. Idc how little or bad people bash on it-bc I got 2.8k kills on wardens law. I wasn’t forced to use it or anything, but I knew I’d have fun with it bc I knew how to aim with it. Most cases I won in fights I had no business winning. I love that gun just as much as I think I’ll enjoy using the prophet once I get a good one.
I’ve been stuck at 3 wins with my passage. So it’s kinda good seeing this review, I can stop playing Trials this weekend. Just isn’t worth it.
Kill clip goes insanely hard. Never gonna say you 'need' anything but like it's really good.
Let me know when a solar version out. That can pair great with an incandescent build.
I got a we ran with this scout rifle, dmt will never two tap like this scout can plus it doesn’t take up an exotic slot so for me that’s two wins in my book ✅ dmt you need a damage buff rift, weapons of light or well of radiance buff to make it stronger but then again you can do the same thing with the trials scout on top of running golden tricorn it’s really slept on

Just saying..there are multiple ways to boost the damage on this weapon further than just Kill Clip. Even as a Strand Hunter I get pretty common 2-taps, and the moments when I don't I can usually follow up with a swap to SMG or a threaded needle.
Treat it more like Igneous with iron sights than a traditional scout rifle. Duelling in hip-fire is perfectly fine if you stay reasonable with the range.
If nothing else, the scope is cool!
But, yeah… we have Servant Leader and Hung Jury with some very solid rolls, I feel like The Prophet only plays into it if you don’t have luck getting either of those. I might not go for Prophet based on that.
Baakris with trespasser and prophet might be the way to go you could 2 tap with the buff and kc and also 2 tap with trespasser
Hey there! As a solo player may I suggest a video for us lonely players out there?? I'm very interested in playing more with a team but a little nervous about the changing dynamic. How to do call outs and generally not let my team down. Good ways to find other players without being a jerk. I've gotten Unbroken and currently gone flawless 16 times but never with a team.
Finding the right people probably makes me the most nervous. I'm a 50 year old dude so not trying to play with toxic people but also would like to be competitive.
Why not just use hinter acrobat dodge with aeon or frostee does that buff stack with kill clip
Is bullet magnetism that bad in this game? Most of the time you are on the chest but you get a crit
Does the orb spawn on you when you use the reaper mod?
I find with hipfire it lets you have the initial shot very accurate so just use that to keep radar, worst case follow up with 2 heads ads or 1 head 1 body. People are kind of missing that this can’t be DMT and shouldn’t.
For some reason, my non-adept roll of Demo + Headstone feels great in PvP and I was only using it to get bounties done. I know with Kill Clip it can two tap certain resil levels which is pretty hot ngl, but I don't think it's hot enough for me to chase an Adept roll of this thing.
The only roll ive gotten so far is rapid hit and headstone, I haven't even tried using it yet.
i got HFG and OffhandStrike and the origin perk. all of those still can't come close to the OG DMT

As someone who primarily plays Pve, I'm getting this purely for a Demo Headstone roll. I also just like 120 scouts.

I just really like how this archetype feels. Its just an easier to use 120 hand cannon. I think they're underrated as a whole, however I don't think this is any better than the Last Rite ritual weapon, so is it worth farming? No, unless you go for a max handling roll.

This may be too much investment, but pairing it with a Solar subclass (likely Hunter for radiant dodge and knife) to proc/maintain Radiant should get you that 2-tap. Knife>a couple finishing shots to proc Radiant and kill clip, then you should 5 seconds of 2 taps right? Too much setup?
I'm on Xbox and it feels pretty crispy to me. I can 3 tap far more efficiently with it versus Jade Rabit. I got Kill Clip is the way to go..

I've always liked cascade point, but like TV said, it whiffs shots. I do however enjoy the .6 ttk it gives, and go with double cascade point to get some nasty kill streaks. Again, BUT, now positive outlook will be nerfed so my cascade combos are coming to an end soon I think
Im only grinding an adept since it'll be enhanceable and demo golden tricorn is very nice on my stasis build since there's not many good stasis primaries
I now have my personal PvE godrolls for the SMG and Auto Rifle, Unending Tempest and Horror Story(Dawning Weapon) which is Demo/Headstone on both of them.
Once I get the adept Demo/Headstone roll. I'll be future proofed. All that's left is a sidearm with Demo/Headstone and my collection will be complete.
@route77productions yea I wish I got a demo horror story, never dropped unfortunately but funny enough I'd say 20 minutes after this comment I got my demo golden tri roll then I immediately turn in my card and get a demo headstone lmfao thank God too cause it took my too long to get an adept heal clip incan summoner last week
It just needs more hip fire accuracy, I’ve messed with enhanced hip fire grip and I don’t think even that will make too much a difference. I’m a controller player who’s actually pretty good at hip fire and even I have trouble landing consistent shots before and after I hit the learning curve of the weapon. It’s just not as good as transfiguration, even transfig with freehand grip has a somewhat better bloom than a prophet with hip fire grip.
The thing that bugs me about box breathing on scouts is the constant reset of the perk..and I definitely don't wanna stay ads to land that first shot.. it's too neche for me to use seriously
Not yet, but when we can enhance this bad boy it might be worth another swing. Enhanced hip fire grip has some juice under the hood. The kill clip roll+ bakris and trespasser is a very nice build!
also the kill clip roll would work nicely with a sanguine alchemy or balderose wrath weavers build too. Several ways around its limitations
Yeah man I got like 12 of these with various rolls and it will be interesting to see how enhanced perks on this thing play out
It makes sense to me that 10 resil blocks so many easy kill routes. It should feel like a reward to commit to any of the top three stats in pvp
Doesn’t matter if you have enhanced hip fire grip and off hand strike, it’s still going to be ass when firing from the hip. Just use the gun as an actual scout rifle. Gun is pretty solid and I have keep away and kill clip.
With all the changes and balance and seemingly new focus on PvP I really really hope they take a look at changing how hipfire works. Never in my life have I played an FPS where hipfire was just so...I want to be more eloquent but, just SO ASS CHEEKS POOPOO WATER! Not only is the bloom awful it is, like you said, highly inconsistence. I should be able to fire a hand cannon on MnK and if the ENTIRE reticle is on the enemy it hits, but that isn't even the case sometimes.
got a few of these myself, it is a little bit like... why use this over DMT? kill clip is fun in 6s. and i tried headstone in trials for the lols. but igneous is just a much better choice

Didnt like it when I got it in the Dungeon and not gonna farm Trials for essentially the same weapon. If I wanna do stasis synergized Scout builds I'll use Wicked implement or Perses.
Don't need it at all, just grabbing an adept or two for lazy future-proofing. But I might shard it anyway eventually, tbh I just.. actually like playing stress free Trials right now with Persistence.
It’s fun with headstone and stasis titan with the helmet that makes diamond lance it’s really fun build but yea the weapon itself inconsistent and ehh not a must have but not a bad weapon just meh
3:20 yeah I agreee that’s why I kind of don’t like the idea of surge damage buffs on exotics. While they make it easier to get extra damage it’s a waste of an exotic Armor slot and at worst it doesn’t help as much in PvP as it does pve. Also lowkey high key still upset Battle Mantle of Harmony uses surges smh
