RROD is just diagnostic on startup telling you there is something wrong in the system, same as on car you have "engine fault light" and you have to read error code to know better what the problem could be. As we both know, there is nothing what cannot break, so if xbox breaks, at least it tries to tell you whats the problem, instead just not turning on without any clue why... And dont forget, the 360ies was made more than 10years ago and most of them was running without any dust cleaning or repasting heatsinks... You barely see 10years old laptops without service still running great, dont you?

I can see how it's an "easy fix" but you're taking the whole thing apart and fixing it yourself, which is common. But not everyone has the tools necessary to do this type of fix. Not knocking this video, because of this being a seemingly legitimate repair. But you do have to be confident with working with electronics. Good, short video to show a repair method that's relatively easy and simple to do

How you get a red ring on a slim version I thought that issue was resolved starting with the jasper units and up?

These are temporary fixes. The real fix is to replace the components themselves. No reflow will ever permanently fix a red ring.
