    The traffic at silver lake is supposed to be one way, so whoever was going up the hill the wrong way is at fault, when going ro jump a hill you always should have a spotter on the hill just in case. Been riding there for 30 plus years with no incidents.

    Spotter’s failed and Gavin shouldn’t have been out there without some experience. Always keep your head on a swivel. Complacency kills. Most people know that a group a vehicles parked at the top of a dune like that means someone is jumping and would have drove up cautiously not blasted right up the middle in quiet jeep. Here is where loud pipes save lives!

    It wasn’t really his fault other than being new at the dunes. If you see cars parked on top with a gap in the middle and obvious landing tracks it might be someone’s jumping The dirtbike riders spotters need fired lol because me and my buddy’s always have at least 1 guy watching the other side of the hill just for that reason

  • @bernierubia9598

    As shown from motorcycle cam it was a blindside dune that the rider didn't see what was on the other side the dune, even on highway it happens when the road is going uphill and the driver has no visibility on the other side of the hill, and sometimes it was a surprise to find out the there was a car blocking the path. Driving fast when you don't see what is ahead is no even off road.

      I don't think anyone is being fined or charged, but a police report in the other video said that while there were no directional rules or speed limits, the dirt bike guy was going a bit too fast to be safe and he was alone without anyone to warn him what was over the hill, though I think the SUV guy's spotters tried from what I saw in the other story.

      The failure was the people standing around at the top of the hill. To another extent, as a rider, don’t jump anything that you don’t have anyone watching the other side. He may have assumed the people at the top of the hill were watching. I’ve rode dirt bikes there several times.

    It's 2024. Everyone on the dunes has a cell phone and on X Offroad Ap. You could draw a digital one-way track that could be edited in real-time by the DNR in combination with the real-time feedback from the people using the area. Everyone using that area would know the position real-time of everybody around them. This isn't rocket science.

      Do you not understand that the drones fly themselves?

    • @tf2whackyengineer
      @tf2whackyengineer 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @jeremykarr9402 The drone was flying itself and controlling the camera itself. You can tell from the video. When the collision happens, the drone slows down to match the new speed of the suv and then adjusts the camera angle on its own. Trust me, this guy isn't going to have the presence of mind to re-aim the camera and everything in a moment when he just got a bike through the windshield.
      At least two of the people at the top were signaling a warning it looks like. Naturally though, it would be hard to hear shouting or anything in this situation.
      Check the previous story for more information. Click the news station's username and scroll down a bit.
      My suggestion for people in the future (though I wouldn't hold these two guys to it since I just thought it up) would be to bring some signage or something to hold up in case of this. Again, I just thought about this with full hindsight, so I wouldn't hold them to it, but it seems like a good idea for future riders in this area with spotters.
