"He was going to fast" he was literally on a drag strip. In a place where it is both DRIVE and SPECTATE at your own risk. And the throttle prolly has have plenty of room after the entire engine just got shoved back 10 inches. Does that truck have nitrous? Run on alcohol? Throttle blades could've froze up, in either scenario.
I love how theyre trying to act as if there was anything the jeep driver couldve done. Sure the throttle probably didnt "stick" but he lost control and couldnt react quickly enough. Accidents happen, its why the event organizers will be legally to blame.
@@tog61 From the time the jeep started to swerve right to the approximate time of impact was less then 4 seconds. That is not "plenty" of time to get the jeep back under control and avoid hitting the other vehicle.
@@j.g.1351 oh it pisses me off, cuz these Cops are like- well maybe we should review these regulations. Talking about the idea of adding speed limits and stuff like that. They are sand dunes! You aren’t policing that! My tax dollars won’t go to that. Let people do their thing. Just be smarter about it.
Not the drivers fault they should have been far away and had barriers. Sad story but not the drivers fault it should have been monitored better by the staff who allowed the races.
Use to go to Silver Lake 6 or more times a year back in the day. There was always some sort of accident. People need to keep their head on a swivel and know their limits.
The 'throttle body was functioning appropriately'. That's not TBI so he's making that up... Even if it was, was it mechanical or drive by wire? Just because, as he says functioning properly doesn't mean something between the pedal and to throttle could have became a problem. **Just remember that the news anchors just read a prompter and usually have zero clue what they are talking about even though they act like they do.

How bout don’t park 50ft from the drag strip? Common sense people.
Sadly, brains go out the window for some folks

Wild seeing spectators unprotected on the trackside like it's a 1970's rally race.
Sign the waiver, welcome!

So sad..watching in slow motion it looks like he had an axle or spool break. Rooster from left wheel and not the right
Some gaurd rails to moved spectators back would fix this issue
But wait they want to add a speed limit on a drag strip 🤦♂️
It was pretty clearly an accident
Pretty sure soon all these dunes will be closed and turned into walking trails if this keeps up
There shouldn't be any charges play and spectate at your own risk!!!!🇺🇲🇺🇲
