Rick, as mentioned in another comment, it would be nice to have a tutorial like video (or a few) from you. You are such a thorough guy, and it shows in your passion for detailing cars. Also, just another idea, maybe a vlog-ish type of video would break things up a bit. Maybe bring us along to a cars and coffee meet if you happen to go sometime. Rick M. Great suggestions. I want to expand my content in the worst way. At the moment, the only “free time” I’m able to find is spent on my garage but come Spring/Summer I’ll be upping my game.
Rick, you are one incredible, man, detailer and photographer my friend! I look forward everyday to watch your amazing work on a beautiful car! Thanks for doing what you do, you definitely inspire me everyday to be the detailer you are! Keep up the incredible work you do👍 Kyle
this is my favorite video of yours since the blue R8 that got me hooked in the first place. I'll agree with what a lot of people are saying below, the product call-outs are a really nice touch, the production value even on those bits is excellent. Thanks again, Rick, you make lunchtime mo better!
Thanks man. I put my heart and soul into each project. I just can't post stuff that doesn't have an artistic flare to it. Thanks for appreciating that.
It’s almost been 10 years since our house was built and the garage has been in a constant state of improvement since that day. I still look for ways to improve it and I have two major projects in the works that will make detailing even more rewarding so stay tuned!
I love washing in the sun but also at night! In night time it feels more like it is just me and the car and kind of relaxing to me. Hope thats normal ;)
Absolutely love everything about this video, the garage, the sq5, even down to the Nokian tyres, also the music. Just about to buy a q5 in the Calgary area a '16 I hope I can find someone who took care of it like you!
Always great to connect with fellow Calgarians. Good luck in your Q5 hunt. I find used cars in Calgary to be a tricky world to navigate, but there's always a diamond in the rough if you take your time to find it.
I love it, snowing outside and you're in shorts 😂 My wife is from Lethbridge, just South of you. Great video, you sure know how to hit those cinematic shots!
Oh boy, the time usually ranges between 1.5 hours and 3 hours. Sometimes more if I'm in a good mood and I'm enjoying myself. I definitely don't set any word speed records.
Salivate. Mirror finish. Just beautiful. I'm amazed that you don't have creases on your driver side seat bolster. I've been trying to clean it up with Sonax Leather Foam. It's done some good but still very visible on my SQ5.
I have a method of entering/exiting that looks awkward to onlookers, but helps preserve the lower side bolsters! I wouldn't let it stress you too much. Leather is going to crease.
The only thing I have are the three decals for the wash buckets. I got the buckets and dollies through the Adamspolishes.com website years ago. Hit me up if you are interested in the decals, though. Thanks for watching!
Rick, Do you have any plans for a new SQ5 wash? I need my RAD fix so watching old videos.. I’m currently obsessing over the SQ5 and hoping to get one in the next couple years. Some driving shots on the next video would be amazing! Thanks and i hope you have a lovely weekend!
I am really hoping I can do a winter wash video over my holidays. It is in dire need of a wash inside and out. The SQ5 is an amazing vehicle. I have considered taking a look at the new SQ5 but need it to be a bit more updated to justify the move. Take care!
Paul Foreman Water The water eventually evaporates inside the garage (heated) or flows to the front of the garage where it evaporates as it hits the driveway.
Has the CarPro Wash Mitt been your Mitt of choice for awhile? Wondering about how you maintain it as it always appears in superb shape in your videos.. Thanks.
Just FYI...I’m like Mr Sparkle...but no long-term damage, Will have wait until after the Amelia Concours to really enjoy it! If you like Porsche’s this the place to see them this week...they’re everywhere...they’re everywhere! Really awesome!
Just subscribed to your channel and I have to say one word and that is impressive. by far the most awesome garage I ever seen. the content of this channel and editing skills are really good. This channel will grow fast I guess. Keep up the good work 👍
Mr Wang Thanks for the compliment and encouragement. I don’t think my approach has the wide appeal within the detailing genre that some other channels have, but I aim to produce the style of videos that I personally enjoy watching. It’s great there’s a few people out there that dig my style. .
After the contact wash, all that is really necessary is to get the soap off the car and that is achieved most effectively with a quick "soft" rinse. The pressurized rinse I do after the foaming stage gets the soap into all the tight crevices and gaps, so no sense in wearing out the pressure washer when it really isn't necessary. Thanks for the question.
Logan Benns Thanks. I invested a decent amount of time into this one so I’m glad it’s getting positive feedback. Be sure to check out the rest of my vids.
Thanks for the kind words. I have been enjoying playing around with the titles and cut scenes. Not sure I love the typewriter sounds though. Working on a "Stress Relief" video project right now.
Excellent Video, beautiful car and garage. Question...Wouldn't applying ceramic boost on top of detail spray negate it's bonding affect? Are you using it exclusively for shine/gloss? Not sure if it would provide any real "protection" if your applying it on top of detail spray....
I used Detail Spray only on the areas that weren't accessible with my wash mitt. Door jambs mostly. I used Ceramic Boost for all exterior surfaces. Thanks for the question and the compliments!
Awesome. We call premium plus the Technik version up here. I do think the SQ5 has a hard clear coat, but not ridiculously hard. I have not had any issue with swirl marks in my clear since owning it. That is a testament to the quality of the paint process. I was worried about the paint seeing as this was the first year the Q5/SQ5 was coming out of the new Mexico plant, but I have been very pleased. What colour is yours?
RΔD GΔRΔGE I tried some Meguiars Ultimate compound on a foam cutting pad and didn't get the results I wanted. I just ordered some new compound and Mico fiber cutting pads to try correction again. I have Daytona Grey, same as you right?
RΔD GΔRΔGE yes so was I. I purchased CPO and but looks like the previous owner loved automatic car washes with dirty brushes. Plus so random deeper scratches. Normal people would never notice but I'm kinda OCD. It's 2 years old with 18k miles so I have to be realistic but just wanted to get it in the best shape I can. I will do some rock chip touch up as well. I ordered the meguiars DA correction system with D300. Trying that tomorrow on an Audi A4 2017 with 90k miles that has never been cared for. Hopefully it works magic.
I think the key is what you said about "being realistic". You can spend countless hours in the pursuit of perfection but if often causes more frustration than it is worth. At least you have a colour that doesn't make paint issues obvious to the eye.
Dai Bennett I used a super soft brush. Probably a bit too soft. I grabbed it from a box of brushes at my local detailing supply company. I’m not sure how effective it is at lifting dirt out of surfaces but it does activate cleaners really well. I use it on my car because it’s pretty clean.
First off all realy nice a garage and nice work offcourse. I have a question to you regarding the Swisstrac/Swissdeck floor tiles. Were is the water going after a wash. I understand i goes through the tile, but then?
The water just flows out the garage door. Builders pitch the floors that way to help with drainage from all the melted snow that falls off the bottom of cars during the winter.
Yeah, in the winter there is so much snow that gets tracked in, and by removing the edge pieces it allows the water to escape quicker. I put the edges back on during the non-winter months.
Hi rick. I'm also an ice hockey fan. My team is ERC Ingolstadt from the 1st German Ice Hockey League. I can still remember the 2004 Salary Cap. Some NHL stars played in Ingolstadt. Marco Sturm, Andy Mc Donald, Jamie Langenbrunner. Oh my God. And I'm a fan of the Oilers 🙈... Sorry. Many greetings from Ingolstadt.
A German Oilers fan?!? How is that even possible? LOL Thanks for reaching out. I remember all of those hockey players. Jamie Langenbrunner was one of my all-time favorite NHL'ers.
I have enjoyed being a part of the "Battle of Alberta" going way back to the early 80's! Probably the best rivalry in North American sports if you ask me!
That brush is called a super soft detailing brush and it is branded by all kinds of companies. Mine is a "no name". Adam's has one on their website. The flat-bottom wheel wasn't available in Canada since all Canadian SQ5's are spec'd with the heated wheel which is round. I wish I had a heated flat-bottom but they don't make them afaik.
Wow, so nice, and so relaxing. Thank you, Rick! Quick question, as someone new to your channel - it looks like you're all-in (or at least you were when this video was made) on Adam's Polishes products. Is that correct?
The team at Adam’s has been a super supporter of me and my detailing passion. I have an extensive collection of their products and appreciate how great they have been to me over the years.
@@RADGarage Thanks, Rick. I'm 52 years old, but new to detailing. I bought a new car (2021 Mazda 6 Carbon Edition) and decided it was time to take better care of my vehicle. I discovered in the process that I LOVE detailing! My biggest challenge, though, has been figuring out what products to use. I'll watch a TH-cam review, see a new product that looks good, and order that. I literally have several shelves FULL of products now, and my wife isn't too happy about that 😊 Sometimes I think it would be simpler just to find a good product line and stick to it. But I always have the itch to try something new. Hopefully I can find some balance soon...
I totally know where you are coming from. Having the uniformity of a single line is something that has always appealed to me. But, over time, I have had the opportunity to connect with many high quality companies so now I am back to having cabinets that are jam packed with products.
Love the attention to detail you give in all your washes. I am not sure if you're sponsored by Adam's or not but I'd love to see some videos of you using some Wowo's products from The Rag Company.
rsxfreak79 I am not sponsored but I am hoping that happens at some point. I use their products almost exclusively and I enjoy using each and every one. I don’t have any immediate plans to expand my product Arsenal at the moment however I recognize the fact that there are many quality products from many reputable brands out there.
I have all that stuff, but none of that is necessary since my carpets are in very decent shape. When I come across a challenging project, I pull out all the big guns!
It's a typical electric pressure washer you get at your local big box store. It's a rebranded AR Clean model (AR390SS). The one I have is from Lowe's so they carry it under their Kobalt brand name. It's decent but the hose is terrible. I'll be upgrading at some point.
Carzilla stocks an incredibly immense array of brushes. Check them out online at carzilla.ca and use "RADGARAGE" to save a buck or two. carzilla.ca/search?q=utility+brush
Great question. The way I have my garage storage items arranged, overspray on the walls is not an issue. Over the past 10 years I have perfected my angles as well to ensure the water and soap doesn't end up going everywhere. It is a perfect example of trial and error over the years. Anything is possible if you want it bad enough! 🤘
What hose spray nozzle do you use? Tired of the cheap Home Depot/Lowes crap. Love your videos! So relaxing to watch and the music is awesome. Keep them coming.
Charles Saito Thanks man. I need relaxing videos to watch in light of all the drama these days. That is actually a generic garden hose nozzle I picked up at Canadian Tire. It’s by a company called Yardworks and it is pretty awesome.
I think I need to be more consistent with the content. Until then, I'm just gonna do what I do and let the chips fall where they may. I do appreciate comments like this though. Thanks.
I think it's going to take off soon. I just bought a 1991 Corvette ZR-1 with a dirty tan leather interior. Not sure if detailing that would have any production value, but you're welcome to use the car anytime you want once I get it to Calgary later in April, if you have a video idea for it. You can also do a burnout.
@@RADGarage Yes - it is in storage in Montana. I went there March 7 to put in storage hoping to return in April. Now it's stuck there until travel is allowed.
You really delivered again in this one Rick excellent job. Are you using Adams products exclusively now? I always liked to see you using Jay lenos products
Kai -291 I used all Adam’s products on this one. I have a few non-Adam’s products kicking around, but I just love my Adam’s. The website is great and my local detailing supplies company always has a great stock of it. Win. Win.
I am a big fan of ceramic or wax coating. But I did not see you doing it on your cars. Mostly I only see you using ceramic spray or something like that. Whats the reason behind it?
Fair question. This video goes back a while, but it was coated with Adam's Ceramic Coating at that point, so I used the Ceramic Spray Coating and Ceramic Boost to maintain the integrity of that coating. In other projects, it comes down to what the owner wants and is prepared to pay for. I don't think every car needs a ceramic coating. I have friends who take great care of their cars and wash them properly and regularly. They don't need the extra sacrificial layer of protection because they are so fastidious about maintaining their cars. I have other friends who don't care much about their cars, so why would I insist on them hiring me to apply a ceramic coating they are only going to ruin by taking their car through harsh car washes? It's about doing what makes sense. My SQ5 is always coated. In fact, I'll be graphene coating it soon to see how graphene compares given the harsh winter conditions we have here. I hope that answers your question.
I have good aim and the water mostly evaporates inside the garage or gently flows out to the driveway where it evaporates or drains through a gap between the garage floor and the driveway.

Really enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for investing the time on detailing and putting out great videos.
Ryan Mulhearn No problem. It makes it more fun for me and if people enjoy them, all the better! Thanks for dropping by.
One of the best detailing videos Ive watched.. 🍄
Wow, thanks!
Love the effect at 14:00
Like pillowy storm clouds rolling in on a hot and humid Texan afternoon!
@@RADGarage Such lovely imagery in such few words, Mr. RAD! You should teach this stuff.
You’re a smart man to stick with one brand. I have bought quite a few different ones over the last few years. My go to drying aid right now is Bead Maker
I hear only good things amount Beadmaker.
I know there are quite a few nice cars in YYC 😊
Rick M. Great suggestions. I want to expand my content in the worst way. At the moment, the only “free time” I’m able to find is spent on my garage but come Spring/Summer I’ll be upping my game.
Well ladies and gentlemen, where you have a good example of QUALITY content, so much passion and care I saw in this video my congratulations to you.
Thanks. I'm a true believer in quality over quantity! It's nice to have your hard work appreciated. Take care.
Rick, you are one incredible, man, detailer and photographer my friend! I look forward everyday to watch your amazing work on a beautiful car! Thanks for doing what you do, you definitely inspire me everyday to be the detailer you are! Keep up the incredible work you do👍
Kyle
Are you trying to make me blush? Thanks Kyle.
RAD GARAGE 😂 LMAO!
this is my favorite video of yours since the blue R8 that got me hooked in the first place. I'll agree with what a lot of people are saying below, the product call-outs are a really nice touch, the production value even on those bits is excellent. Thanks again, Rick, you make lunchtime mo better!
Thanks Scott. I aim to produce quality content so it always makes me feel good to know people see that in my work.
Production value is really high in your videos man, awesome work, also, what a mighty beard!
Scott Munning Thanks. It’s about time my beard receives the credit it deserves.
I don’t know why I’m watching you wash a car but I love it. Lol. Just wondering if you have a drain underneath the flooring. Thanks!
Hey, people watch WAAAAYYY weirder things on the Internet so don't worry.
Love every single video! It’s an obsession! Love my Adam’s products as well!
That's awesome.
Beautiful truck!..basically my routine every time I wash mine and the wife's cars ...same products also..Adam's baby!

@@RADGarage very true!!
Beautiful car! Proudly made in Mexico! Amazing work
Mario Guel Osorio Yes! Proudly made in Mexico and I’m very pleased with it!
Some of the best content and editing i have seen in a long time. Major props my man, major props.
Thanks man. I put my heart and soul into each project. I just can't post stuff that doesn't have an artistic flare to it. Thanks for appreciating that.
Thanks Rick...this was fun!
I can't believe how well that video did in terms of views! It's probably tacky to say this, but that video made me some serious beer money!
Love to watch your work :) I like your garage so much.. wish I can have one like that..
It’s almost been 10 years since our house was built and the garage has been in a constant state of improvement since that day. I still look for ways to improve it and I have two major projects in the works that will make detailing even more rewarding so stay tuned!
@@RADGarage woww it takes focus and consistency.. Thumbs Up.. looking forward for the improvements
I love washing in the sun but also at night! In night time it feels more like it is just me and the car and kind of relaxing to me. Hope thats normal ;)
It's normal to me! I enjoy a good washing at any time of day, but Saturday night is my favorite.
I love it, snowing outside and you're in shorts 😂
My wife is from Lethbridge, just South of you.
Great video, you sure know how to hit those cinematic shots!
I love Lethbridge. Heading down there soon to play at the water park with my son! Thanks for watching!
@@RADGarage on Mayor McGrath? Have fun!
@@SinCityDetail Yup!
Great mix of cleaning sounds and mucic
I aim for that balance.
@@RADGarage it's appreciated!
How much time does it take you to complete the whole clean from carpets to rinse?!
Oh boy, the time usually ranges between 1.5 hours and 3 hours. Sometimes more if I'm in a good mood and I'm enjoying myself. I definitely don't set any word speed records.
@@RADGarage 🤗🤘
Love the videos. Was wondering where can I pick up you 3 bucket set up( WASH, RINSE,WHEELs & dolly)?
The only thing I have are the three decals for the wash buckets. I got the buckets and dollies through the Adamspolishes.com website years ago. Hit me up if you are interested in the decals, though. Thanks for watching!
wow
That's what I like to hear!
Great work,beautiful car.
Thanks. It has been the perfect family car for us.
Take care!
Do you have any problems with cash with washing the car in side of do you have drains inside
Paul Foreman Water The water eventually evaporates inside the garage (heated) or flows to the front of the garage where it evaporates as it hits the driveway.
@@RADGarage ok wunted to wash my car in the garage but wasn't sure about the water. Enjoy watching your channel takes away the street of the day

Has the CarPro Wash Mitt been your Mitt of choice for awhile? Wondering about how you maintain it as it always appears in superb shape in your videos.. Thanks.
grogfisher I have been using that mitt for years now and not a single complaint. I rinse it well, shake it and hang to dry.

It’s great there’s a few people out there that dig my style. .
Love all your videos man. Best editing ever. Greats from Belgium
Thanks Jan. I love connecting with European viewers.
Great video I've noticed you use a soft rinse after the washing stage why is that compared to using the pressure washer to remove the soap?
After the contact wash, all that is really necessary is to get the soap off the car and that is achieved most effectively with a quick "soft" rinse. The pressurized rinse I do after the foaming stage gets the soap into all the tight crevices and gaps, so no sense in wearing out the pressure washer when it really isn't necessary. Thanks for the question.
Nice car, excellent editing, informative, and awesome quality. Zero complaints here. Great content 👌🏼👍🏼
Logan Benns Thanks. I invested a decent amount of time into this one so I’m glad it’s getting positive feedback. Be sure to check out the rest of my vids.

I recently posted a tour video. You should check it out if you haven't had a chance yet.
RAD GARAGE Thanks for letting me know , I’m a very new subscriber.Keep up the brilliant work 🤘🏼
Excellent Video, beautiful car and garage.
Very nice job!!!👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks a lot. Not a bad way to spend a Friday evening in my books.
I literally have the same car. Premium plus with s sport package. Do you consider this paint "hard"?
I have Daytona Grey, same as you right?
sx4dude2013 Yes. Mine is DGP too. I’m surprised to hear that compound/pad combo didn’t work. What caused your paint issues?
What interior brushes are these, look supper soft and plush
Dai Bennett I used a super soft brush. Probably a bit too soft. I grabbed it from a box of brushes at my local detailing supply company. I’m not sure how effective it is at lifting dirt out of surfaces but it does activate cleaners really well. I use it on my car because it’s pretty clean.
Just posted link to that soft interior detailing brush in the video description.
Awesome video! Where did you get those cat mat clips and the sheet metal behind it??
Tiffany Lamont Clamps are easily found online. My HVaC guy sources the stainless steel pieces for me. Not an easy find in the retail world.
RAD GARAGE a i noticed that you have no edges by the entrance. Thank you for your quick anwser.
Yeah, in the winter there is so much snow that gets tracked in, and by removing the edge pieces it allows the water to escape quicker. I put the edges back on during the non-winter months.
This is exactly how I’m going to treat my car when I’m older 👍
That's great to hear. I have always taken great care of my cars and I have never regretted that effort. Take care.
Beautifull!
Thank you!
Good job 👊
Thanks for the visit
What kind of wheels are these?? Great video by the way!
Did a video about them. th-cam.com/video/uH08J9x6oOM/w-d-xo.html
RAD GARAGE Hi Rick. Fan of the Oilers even before Leon😂
I have enjoyed being a part of the "Battle of Alberta" going way back to the early 80's! Probably the best rivalry in North American sports if you ask me!
what kind of brush are you using on the leather seats? nice sq5! i have a 2014. im surprised you dont have a flat bottom steering wheel. great video!!
Amazing garage that is what I need! 👍
boostaholic 71 Thanks. It is working out pretty good.
You're awesome sir ! , you should have millions subs !
Maybe one day!
Amazing!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
No pump sprayer/drill brush/carpet extractor for the carpets?
I have all that stuff, but none of that is necessary since my carpets are in very decent shape. When I come across a challenging project, I pull out all the big guns!
Very Smooth Video💯💯💯
That's what I am going for!
Just subscribed and I'm curious what power washer/sprayer you use? You don't have it listed in your equipment.
It's a typical electric pressure washer you get at your local big box store. It's a rebranded AR Clean model (AR390SS). The one I have is from Lowe's so they carry it under their Kobalt brand name. It's decent but the hose is terrible. I'll be upgrading at some point.
Where can I find the materials on your garage floor
www.RADGarage.ca/Swisstrax-floor.html
Where do you buy your carpet brushes? like would CandianTire have them?
Carzilla stocks an incredibly immense array of brushes. Check them out online at carzilla.ca and use "RADGARAGE" to save a buck or two. carzilla.ca/search?q=utility+brush
What are the wheels on your car and size? They look great
Thanks. They are the “Sprint” by TSW. All the specs are included in this short video: th-cam.com/video/uH08J9x6oOM/w-d-xo.html
Question: do you get overspray water or soap from cannon on your walls . Thinking of detailing in my garage
Nice work, super video 👌
Thank you very much! Just a dude trying to keep his car minty fresh!
How does this man not have 107k subscribers?
I think I need to be more consistent with the content. Until then, I'm just gonna do what I do and let the chips fall where they may. I do appreciate comments like this though. Thanks.
I think it's going to take off soon. I just bought a 1991 Corvette ZR-1 with a dirty tan leather interior. Not sure if detailing that would have any production value, but you're welcome to use the car anytime you want once I get it to Calgary later in April, if you have a video idea for it. You can also do a burnout.
Still have the ZR1? Greg?
@@RADGarage Yes - it is in storage in Montana. I went there March 7 to put in storage hoping to return in April. Now it's stuck there until travel is allowed.

Thanks. I am very proud of this project. The car and video came out very nicely.
Hey Rick! Are those Mat hooks custom? Thx!
Mike Spina Nah. They are all over the web. Just google “mat clamps”.
Just wondering what product you use to clean the alcantara door panels?
Corey O'Hara I lightly brush it with a spritz of leather and interior clean by Adam’s. .
Win. Win.
Nice video Rick 😀😀😀, after you use Adams interior cleaner, do you use any interior dressing?????? 😁 😁 😁
Johnny Petersen Dude! I showed an image of the Adam’s Interior Dressing I used to finish the leather. Beautiful satin look. Give it a shot. .
@@RADGarage sure, completely. Thanks for this detailed answer
Ordered on 1st of november, arrived on 5. November 😎 directly from philadelphia to Duesseldorf.
A part of radgarage came to germany 👌🏻
Love the garage that’s my dream garage two questions for you when you spray does everything get wet and how does the water drain out?
I have good aim and the water mostly evaporates inside the garage or gently flows out to the driveway where it evaporates or drains through a gap between the garage floor and the driveway.
