- The Original Hinson Family As They Appeared On "Gospel Singing Jubilee". All Hinson Songs I Post Is A Tribute To Kenny Hinson (1953-1995). Kenny Was Truly A Dynamic And Prolific Lead Singer Who Was Influenced By Singing Style Of Merle Haggard; Who In Return Was Influenced By Singing Style Of Lefty Frizzell.
At age 13, the best 30 minutes of the week was "Gospel Singing Jubilee" before going to church. The Hinson's, The Dixie Echoes, The Happy Goodman's, Aaron Wilburn, The Florida Boys. The best gospel singing ever to me and Mama. I saw Hinson's when I was 17, it was great. I'm sure Kenny sings in Heaven every day. I've seen the Dixie Echoes a few times, last @ 4 years ago, Randy Shellnut still sings great as he did with his Dad Dale, Randy sings with his son, Randy, Jr.! Thanks for post, God bless!

If I hadn't been watching I would of thought this was Merle Haggard...oh no, that wasn't just Merle......that was Kenny Hinson!!!! I cannot get enough of this voice.

I got to see him & The Hinsons at my church back in the 70's. What a fantastic singer and lover of the Lord. His voice is still influencing other singers today.
The Hinsons will always be my favorite.
Same here, bobby teems... they were awesome! I was privileged to go out for fellowship with them and some of my family when they would come to my town. Very funny, sweet, down to earth godly people

Just now recently finding all these great uploads of the Hinsons! Better late than never, grateful to found them at 51 & will be listening from here on out! Thanks for all your uploads...only wish we'd have known about them so much sooner in life. I'd have definitely been somewhere to have seen them perform live at least 1 time, likely many more!

Think it's Pig Robbins.....saw Ronny Hinson doing an interview a few months ago & the host started naming off some of the most famous musicians in the business, that had played with The Hinsons & Ronny said that was true. But the only name l recognized, was Pig Robbins b/c l'm not that much into knowing the names of famous musicians, but knew immediately that he was a ledgendary blind piano player & has played for everyone who is anyone in Nashville. I read his first major session was in 1957 playing with George Jones's, on his "White Lightning" recording, & almost immediately his legendary career took off.
Ronny was always so good at planning ahead in so many different important areas, when ever it was possible for him to do so, in order to try to make their group the very best & he was good at it.
They were even discussing The Hinsons' album covers which Ronny put a lot of work into each of them, planning them out just the way he wanted them to look when finished.
@banjoviman : If I remember correctly; when I originally purchased, it was on VHS. I converted to DVD. If still available, Bill Gaither might have. Happy you enjoyed.
