    That 'quaint' little city of Inverness has been around since 6th Century AD when St Columba visited the Pictish King Brude at his fortress here.

    Thank you for your videos of the British Isles Cruise. You have given us so many ideas. Of all the videos we have found so far for our destinations, your videos stand out.

    Thank you so much for these videos! I hope you plan to share your thoughts on the Edinburgh and Paris portions of your trip soon. We will be doing a British Isles cruise on the Regal Princess in June, so these have been VERY helpful. Happy Travels!

      We will. It’s been so busy with other travel. Quick tip for Edinburgh, be sure your tour includes or you book tickets for Edinburgh Castle in advance!

    Thank you for your video. My experience with the Scottish currency banknotes has been somewhat different. They're not just issued by Bank of Scotland, but other banks in Scotland as well. The notes issued by Scottish banks are only exchangeable with great difficulty in England (and Wales). Even the Bank of Scotland branch in the lake district were most reluctant to accept their own notes - shopkeepers don't want to bother with them. English notes are readily accepted in Scotland, but not the other way around.
    Would suggest you only get enough of Scottish notes to spend within Scotland. Apart from buses from Invergordon to Inverness there are also trains, but they run to a limited timetable. Just pay the conductor on board.

    Thank you for your videos and excellent information that always accompanies. We will soon be leaving on a cruise and Invergordon is one of the stops. I see you booked your tour outside the port. Can you tell us what was the cost of the tour? Many thanks.

    We are going on a British isles cruise in may 2024. Your videos have been very helpful. How did you handle the money situation that was different in every port we were thinking of getting a prepaid visa, calculator card that works for all the different currencies. Also, how did you figure out which places you wanted to get a private company tour versus the cruise line tour system? Also, do you have a video on Edinburgh or Liverpool?

    Ireland isn't part of the British Isles. Ireland is a considerably older island in fact. That's why we have no snakes. Sorry, St Patrick. I know it is widely use, but incorrectly so. The Irish Government and the irish people do not accept the description. It was poltical propaganda created by the British in the 17th century.
    Ideally, you would change your title to Britain and Ireland cruise. Even if the cruise lines don't.
    Thanks.

      I never said it was but it is the title of the cruise much like Greek Island cruises often stop in Turkey.

      @ftbeat OK. I'm sure the Turks like that. You probably shouldn't bother correcting the heading. It's a hassle and would take 5 minutes, and it only offends 5 million Irish people.😪

    Yes, you're butchering the pronounciation of Urquart.

    • @ftbeat
      @ftbeat  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      How is it pronounced?

    • @taniagodwin2138
      @taniagodwin2138 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In Aberdeen it's pronounced Ukk-Hit, In the Highlands it's pronounced Urk-cut, with a roll on the 'r' and a soft 'c'.

      The Scottish language isn't always directly pronounced into English, for example the name Menzies is pronounced Menghis.
