Join us on our May 24th 2024 adventure to Loyalsock State Forest in Northern Pennsylvania. We share with you our experience camping on a crowded holiday weekend. We’re in the State Forest though, to minimize the crowds. We’re Boondocking, in a secluded site on High Knob Road.
We haven’t been out on the road in a while, and we’re still getting used to the new camper. To start off this trip, I’m out just William and myself. It’s a lot different being the lone adult, but really, it’s just another learning experience.
Upon arriving at Worlds End State Park, Will and I look to the Double Run Nature Trail for scenery. Scenery we find, a trail full of Waterfalls, Hemlocks, Cascades and Bridges along the Double Run Creek. For a Pennsylvania State Park Nature Trail, this was really impressive!
We generally don’t look at Pennsylvania State Parks as a destination, however, Worlds End has a lot to see! It’s a landscape that really has a lot to offer. Loyalsock Creek runs right through the park and forms an impressive gorge. This place features vistas, waterfalls, and hiking trails that lead into the depths of the Loyalsock State Forest.
Speaking of the Loyalsock State Forest, that’s where we’re camping, and it also features vistas and waterfalls. These here, are some of the best we’ve seen in Pennsylvania! There some at the end of this episode, and more to come in this series; so SUBSCRIBE why don’t you?
Next Week: A Hike in Loyalsock State Forest!
Our journey continues every Thursday at 5:00!

Friends, welcome to our RV Camping and Adventure channel. Ryan and Rachel here, we are weekend warriors with a mission to highlight RVing in the eastern United States. We are joined by our daughter Sarah, son William, and our two dogs (Trigger and Lilly). Home is in Pennsylvania, and while PA is our favorite State to explore, we’ve found there’s much more to explore! We’ve traded in our Wildwood, and we’ll be camping from now on in our 2024 Salem 29View! We’re pulling it with our 2021 RAM 2500 BigHorn. We hope you will subscribe, join us on some of our adventures and be inspired to go on your own adventures.

This looks like a perfect little trail to do with your son. We loved World's End state park when we visited a few years ago. My kids really liked the swimming area and how there were lots of rock pools in the creek to swim also. Your boondocking campsite looked great too.

We really liked Worlds End. The swimming area was nice, and we also found a nice spot downstream to swim. And yeah, that was the perfect trail for hiking with kids. Short, sweet, lots of rewards!

Worlds end is my favorite state park in PA. I love coming there at least twice a year. It’s so beautiful up there, always quiet and everyone is polite.

Looks like a cool place to camp. I like that side of the road site. I’d maybe bring my generator though.

I really liked this camp spot. I brought a generator, but had to cut the footage mentioning packing it because the video was too long. We didn’t even use it though, the 200watt panel and our batteries got us through the whole trip.

    Hearding Cats!
Sucha great video. A few years ago mine son and I started heading to camp before the wife and daughters. That was such a special bonding time with my son.
    Loyalsock looks lovely.
I need more time to get to all these places!

At first I wasn’t a really big fan of going separate, especially such a long way away. I think I will enjoy spending time with just him as he gets older and more capable.
You really should spend some time up at the Sock. It’s a really special place, full of scenery. I can’t wait to go back!

@@mountainsintomemories I was bit apprehensive at first too. But, especially close to home trips like Prince Gallitzin and Blue Knob, the stress levels ease off and more extra enjoyment for the first evening (as the girls got older the drama levels increased....mom was much better at handling those and it was .much easier for me to get the camper there and ready vs rushing against darkness later.)
If you don't mind me asking, which town near Loyalsock had the Rutter's with the Blue Nozzle? It is sometimes hard to find the 88 away from home!

@@pennsylvaniaforestadventurer The Rutters was in Bellefonte, right off i99. I seek out the 88 as well, and Rutters for that matter. I didn’t have enough gas to make it back there unfortunately, so had to settle for e10 87 on the way home…

I've been going up to Sullivan County since 1984 to a hunting and fishing cabin owned by a good friend/brother. We even chased a few women in the early days. Great country. Hiked the LT In the early 2000's backpacking. Been to a lot up there. But never Cottonwood Falls. Thanks. I guess, if your boy can do it, I can. Going up this coming week

It’s all beautiful up there! The LT has some beautiful scenery, and waterfalls! I can imagine the hunting/fishing up there is good. I took my rod but didn’t get a chance to fish.
Definitely check out Cottonwood falls. You should have no problem with that trail.
      Thanks for watching!
