Just did it, I cussed more than I have all year. I broke the brittle pcv hose, but autozone carries it, Dorman 917-125. Hardest part was releasing all the hoses that were stuck
Was looking at this after removing the manifold multiple times trying to look for a vacuum leak but this video made me realize i had crossed the two wires coming through the manifold . Thanks for the video
Thx for sharing. Which video is the one where you discuss the starter solenoid plug and why it is crucial with regards to no crank no start issues on N52 engine? and are those electrical connectors at the rear of the manifold in your video at time stamp 11:25 also on x5 e70 n52 engines? I am in process of removing the manifold to replace the starter. Thx.
Great video which helped me change the starter on E60 LCI ND72. I have a solid steel pipe maybe 1 inch diameter with a flange at the back that had to be split before the manifold would move. I gave up removing the manifold when one of the pipes had cooling fluid in as I did not want to drain the coolant. I found removing the red cable to the jump lead terminal made reassembly a little easier. Replacing the starter with the manifold in place reminded me of working on Mini’s in the late 60’s. I don’t think I would ever get it down to 7 minutes though.
Love the more direct title of your videos Dean! The click bait-ey titles make it hard to refind the video if I need to search for it. I find the more straightforward titles, that tells us exactly what the video is about, are the ones folks normally search for and get higher views. It took me 1.5 hours to remove the intake manifold on e85/n52, I removed the junction box, I wasn’t aware it didn’t have to be removed. Thank you again for great content.
Is it the same for n53? I have a 630i lci and I need to replace the ccv pipe. Do you think I should also replace the valve itself also? I have a misfire on cold start but after 5 minutes the misfire goes away and no codes come up.
I have a problem with bmw 730li airconditioner, so i want to remove the dahsboard to takeoff the evaporator. And i dont have a battery saver. This is save or not to remove the battery?
Just picked up a 56 plate 325i E92. Engine code N52B25A, does this have the 3 stage manifold? Been looking online and it’s mostly American forums saying their 325i doesn’t have it but apparently EU cars did?
Link for the manifold? Also i have an 04 E60 525i, having issues with my power windows not working. Fuses are all good and all the modules are lit up except the front passenger side. Is it shorted you think cause the main (driver side) not to work? I’m stumped and it works intermittently and of course i rolled my windows down cause of the heat and now they are stuck cracked
I had a question my e36 m3 sedan auto keeps going into limp when I do a pull but if I cruise it doesn't really mess up can it be lack of maintenance of the trans
The starter on my 525i has suddenly stopped working after a loud grinding noise, now it just spins but does nothing. I am about to embark on the removal of the intake manifold according to your very useful guide, big thanks for that. I went to remove the strut braces and the torx screws wont come loose, I used a long wrench with the torx head that seemed to fit perfectly and they just became rounded. Do you think there is a chance of removing the intake without removing the braces or is it totally impossible? Thanks for your help
Hi brother I have a question I have a 07 328xi n51 Tranfer case is bad do I need to reprogram a used Tranfer case I bought after install thank you my friend
I also need to replace my manifold as it's causing misfires and lots of white smoke! It is my daily and don't want to risk trying this myself and messing up things. Can you help me Doc?
I paid a mobile mechanic to do my starter. He broke the ccv valve and didn't tell me. Car idle was horrible. I had to pay another mechanic to fix it. If you own these cars do the work yourself and binge watch these videos.
I changed my boost solenoid 3 times because my 2011 BMW 335i coupe keeps cutting out under full throttle and sometimes it’ll throw me into stupid mode as well. PLEASE HELP HELP HELP. I am sooooo frustrated and overwhelmed with this I had a BMW master tech look at it for months and he couldn’t figure it out!!! Im on MHD Stage 2+ with 93 octane pump gas only with full bolt ons and either a stock turbo or vargas level one or vargas level 2 turbo, the previous owner couldn’t prove to me that he swapped the turbo so I think its stock. GOD HELP ME im so close to ditching this piece of shit and driving it into a wall!!!!
Great video. I need to replace my knock sensors and this helps tremendously. I’m gonna do the starter too since I’ll be in there already and it’s a 2007 original lol
Hey man love your videos, i replaced my starter on my n52 using ur vids for guidance i was successful unfortunately when i started the car i had multiple dash lights on and the car was under powered and running rough after watching more of your videos i pulled it apart again and the realized i had bumbed the knock sensor wire loose lol i put it on and put the car back together and its running great problem is the seat airbag light and seat belt light are still on on the dash grrrr im wondering weather reset will sort it or have i possibly knocked other wires loose ? would appreciate ur advide

Hello I watch various video recently I took my 325i 2006 to a shop to get the starter fixed when I got it back it's making a bubbling noise and running like crap can you help out I did pay to change the intake manifold gasket
Hey Dr! Hi! Nice to follow you and to be subscribe since two years ago, I have a question, I have a BMW E60 523i 2006, 177hp, with just 70,000km I would love to have more power, thinking about a turbo conversation , what do you think ? Or any suggestion? All my best! Cheers
Love the video ! I’m new to the task - does it matter where the specific 3 wires plug into the intake manifold power distribution box ? I heard u say the power comes into the bottom and the top position has not been unplugged so the real question is the two wire connectors in the center ? Thanks again !
It’s something I’m going to be doing as I’m in no rush to put it back together 😊 I’m half way through a lot more then this I’m planning to take out the whole engine 😌
Don’t talk about it show us the proof ! I hate talkers just be about it don’t talk about it it seems that’s what TH-cam is all about on here just people that talk or keyboard warriors 😔
@@BMWDoctor how are you doctor I admire all of your content i hope and wish to activate the Arabic language for all the videos because there are many Arabs They're watching you. With all due respect and appreciation to you 🌹
So I own a E93 with a 3.0litre straight six cylinder N53 engine that only produces 214hp and apart from changing the intake manifold from stage 1 to 3 is there any other ways I can get more power out of this big engine?
secendary cat delete, catless headers, milvs, eruo spec intake (or any intake system), and tune is usually what everyone does to make the car hit around 280 - 290 to the crank. also weight reduction to the interior and a LSD retrofit would also help alot. along with poly tranny mounts and a short shifter will help you shift faster if you have a manual.
When im chopping cars i remove it in 6 seconds flat, with a hammer. Guiness book of records

Literally just broke my hose doing this job..the upper hose that comes from under the manifold and goes up
What engine do you have mine is a n54
This is the best intake manifold video on TH-cam for BMW N52! thank you for create this content.
What you said is so true I used to be intimidated doing this job now it’s so easy doing it over and over really teaches you
Thank you very much. I need to change the starter. Car doesn't start anymore. Greetings from Germany
Great video. Followed these two instructions and had it off and back on in an hour. Excellent walk through!
Please send the link video for the explained problem for the starter connector that can cause problems like you said.thanks

That intake boot is a bit challenging. I had to use needlenose pliers on clamp

they probably fucked the pcv hoses up they're usually really brittle and need to be changed after u touch them.
Bro can you leave a link for me to purchase a N53 valve cover gasket 2007 e60
Man you know your stuff 👍🏽
Thank you !

Take the cats off along with installing a cold air intake seems like a way better option less stressful on the motor than turbos

Hey Doc I truly need some help
Thanks lad
great job!
Before this job I will search for air leaks with propane. Then replace all the gaskets plus the CVV

Thank you for not showing how to remove that plastic shit over the engine...
7 minutes? İ do it in 2minutes
Dean, I did this in 2 minutes
