17min, i have heard one chain of reasoning that states that slavery wasn't the only cause of the civil war, but most of its point is that the north hadn't actually done anything to end slavery at the time, and that apparently Lincoln was only against the explanation of it into other states, the claim then went on to state the south rebelled solely because someone who didn't openly support it was elected
their point, was that we aren't sure the north would of ended slavery if there hadn't been the civil war, so , slavery was the souths motivation to fight, but to the north, it was simply that they cannot level the country at first
however i haven't seem much about that in a while, and it might of been more anti Lincoln then anything else...
and i sort of doubt thats what the " momspaling me" commenter was getting at, but there is a chance however small they that had a reasonable point that can be argued
