Hi Brendan, you said valid points in this video. The two key points for me were communicating with clients and Consultants making sure everyone is on/ with the same concept. The second is advancing your skill sets which can be profitable in the distant future.
    Thanks and stay safe

Everybody says that communication skills are important, but how do you actually work on them in a deliberate manner?

I would start from reading some books, following some podcast/YT channels, then actively apply and test them. I would recommend books like , TH-cam channels like Charisma on Command, Simon Sinek, Jefferson Fisher.

I think a better question is what are the income levels, and how are they determined.
      Do incentive payments exist?
If you saved a large amount of construction cost to a design from a redesign, do you get a bonus ?
      How is design work priced?
Lump sum or unit rate. ?

Senior Structural Engineer for a mid-top tier firm (non associate) with 5-10yrs experience your looking at 120-150k AUD tops.
However if you seek to manage people or generate sales within the firm, your salary will increase exponentially. But it ain’t for the faint hearted.

@missochisso many design engineers prefer to design and analyse and not to be distracted.
