I know this is an ancient video, but hell yeah! Been a console gamer for 30 years, but there are some older PC games I want to play. I bought several games off GOG and have been trying to play them with KB&M for the past couple weeks and I'm total ass at it. I'm too old, impatient, and set in my ways to learn KB&M, lol, so this looks like it'll be a lifesaver. 👍
Thanks. I had used my Xpadder software years ago, but still could not get even the basics going without this video. The user interface is just....different. New Profile? I've clicked 33 times in various places -- no luck -- hopefully you have a video on that.
I don't have an xbox one controller. I'd check the xpadder forums for help. I'm not positive if it works or not. Microsoft has been changing around how their xinput stuff works for their controllers on PC.
Juan Cristancho Windows 10 has the drivers built in to recognize the XOne controller. If you're using an earlier version like Win7 or 8.1, the driver isn't included. Since I'm using Windows 10 all I had to do was plug in the controller with a USB cable and select it in Xpadder

I made a browsing profile for when I sit in bed, and a set switch to a TH-cam set which allows me to skip videos in playlists, fullscreen with automatic mouse pissing off and more funny things like that. It's great.

Everyone having problems with setting up the Triggers on the Ps4 Controller because it says that it recognizes it as non analog, and thagt you should bind it as a button. You need to manually set the left trigger to "Axis RX+Full" and the right one to "Axis RY+Full"
ok i have to comment so i love to game im pretty quick at figuring shit out -heres the catch only on consoles,and of course the one game i want to play so bad is neverwinter i started on xbox so its been many nights trying to find a way i can have the same set up on xbox ,took me a few weeks before i accepted the fact that i will never be able to cycle through the many like xboxs version but yet outward seems to have the same set up..i have a enhanced xbox one controller and i startling for what i can get from other people ,but i had stop and say not only is ur video clear ,noise annoying,but your the first one that has really been good at breaking the set up down..im sure a 6yr old woulda been able to pull it off after ur video..have to say i enjoyed the communication and the gester that where in the video and you didnt rush it you made it really simple at a slow but brain friendly rate....anyhow i was impressed with your teaching skills -may i not leave out im a chick so ya we are good but we get off to a slower start than men when it comes to gaming ,,lmao keep up the good work
guys i acctully figured how to attach it acctully it worked when i start mapping it start running on my deskpot but it didn't work on the game so i disable compatibility on xpadder and on the game try if it didn't work try maybe change to windows 98 try all those options until it work change compatibility on the game and on xpadder or disable it . i know that you guys probably figured that since this comment is too old but maybe some other ppl are having probem with this xpadder also cuz there's no video about this topic so i hope this help. btw i find solution on reddit 😅

Trying to set this up for my HyperSpin application simple buttons but when i open up an application from it i dont want xpadder buttons to communicate with the application i just opened. +TMH HyperSpin Hmm. I don't know of a way to block Xpadder from specific programs. Most people have troubles with Xpadder being blocked in games, and that fix is to run it as admin.
How do you then upload the settings into the game doesn't arma 3 reset settings or is it just programmed into the controller permenantly so that it works straight away when game is loaded???

Hmm i see well to be more precise, I'm trying to make a macro for the X button on the controller that basically holds down the button for an n amount of time (n being the given value in seconds once I find it). So every time i press the X button it holds it down for that amount of time each time.

So once I've made a controller layout for a specific game, how do I actually use it? I open my game but the controller button configuration is the same as the default setting, my layout doesn't appear to be working
+Usman Ahmed around 5:50 mark. You'd open your profile from that little note icon. Xpadder will default to the last opened profile for a game but if you want to you can also have it auto open profiles associated with game .exe files. Just to be clear though, I never made a profile in this vid, I go over that in other vids. This was just the basic setup so the controller can accept profiles in xpadder.
xpadder does not work with the xbox one controller. Unfortunately the games detect the controller and the controls cannot be modified. Is there a way to switch from ximput to directimput? Only with directimput can the xpadder setting work unfortunately.
Good morning, Thanks for the tutorial - extremely helpful! I need help with mapping a keys in Arma 3 for using TFAR comms. I have a T16000M HOTAS and am trying to map the Long Range (LR) radio keys to the 6 buttons on the left side of the joystick. The keyboard keys to switch between LR Radio channels are: CTRL + 1 (NUM), CTRL + 2(NUM), etc When I map a standard Arma 3 two-button key set through xpadder, such as SHFT + H for the large MFD, it works as expected; however, when I map CTRL + 1 (NUM) through xpadder it will default to pressing only "1 (NUM)" which switches between the short range radio channels. I have ran through many troubleshooting processes and believe the issue lies in the TFAR addon that is needed for my Arma 3 unit. How can I map the LR Radio keys so they work properly? Thanks, Tony
I can't remember the specific process in Xpadder (I haven't used it for a few years) but you need a slight delay before the 1 is pushed. Ctrl needs to be pressed and THEN 1, it won't work with both at the same time. You'll have to fiddle around with delays. xpadder.com/forum4/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=3137
This is a great video, but some of the buttons on this game I am trying to play do two things. With Xpadder it only seems to let me do one thing and not the other.

Newer profiles will not work on the old, outdated builds of Xpadder. You probably get Range Check Error which means the profile is not compatible. You'll need newer version from xpadder.com
All my buttons are working perfect, except the left analog stick moves the mouse no matter what i do, even when the Xpadder program is closed, the left stick still moves the mouse around... any ideas how to fix this?
Dylan Car Completely closed? Even from taskbar. I think it's just minimized otherwise it shouldn't do anything at all when Xpadder is closed. It sounds like you need to tweak the deadzone. I go over that at 7:42

I rarely do that because I always found it a pain so I'm not sure off the top of my head. It's not terribly difficult though. It's an option in one of the menus.
it's 2024 I just bought it they changed the whole way it looks and its just a blank screen with a controller and wrench but there is not add profile anything i have nooo idea how to do this

Xpadder is really great for games that don't pick up a device like a racing wheel . I use it for my Mad Catz MC2 for Underground 2 .

dam i love this program, i setup a profile for Dangerous Dave 2 so when he shoots the shotgun the controller vibrates, its fucking awesome

Yes, it's in the setting of xpadder. You can assign a profile to a specific .exe file.

How can I require two or more buttons to be pressed down at the same time on a controller to activate one certain key with a function on a keyboard in Xpadder?
i have xpadder working fine and all like you have it, but in ME1 where i am trying to use it, it's not moving anything.. ideas?
Try running xpadder as admin first.
So once I've made a controller layout for a specific game, how do I actually use it? I open my game but the controller button configuration is the same as the default setting, my layout doesn't appear to be working
+Usman Ahmed around 5:50 mark. You'd open your profile from that little note icon. Xpadder will default to the last opened profile for a game but if you want to you can also have it auto open profiles associated with game .exe files. Just to be clear though, I never made a profile in this vid, I go over that in other vids. This was just the basic setup so the controller can accept profiles in xpadder.

xpadder does not work with the xbox one controller. Unfortunately the games detect the controller and the controls cannot be modified. Is there a way to switch from ximput to directimput? Only with directimput can the xpadder setting work unfortunately.
As the xpadder pro, can you tell me if I can limit my left trigger to max output at 85% ?

I need help with mapping a keys in Arma 3 for using TFAR comms. I have a T16000M HOTAS and am trying to map the Long Range (LR) radio keys to the 6 buttons on the left side of the joystick.
The keyboard keys to switch between LR Radio channels are: CTRL + 1 (NUM), CTRL + 2(NUM), etc When I map a standard Arma 3 two-button key set through xpadder, such as SHFT + H for the large MFD, it works as expected; however, when I map CTRL + 1 (NUM) through xpadder it will default to pressing only "1 (NUM)" which switches between the short range radio channels.
I have ran through many troubleshooting processes and believe the issue lies in the TFAR addon that is needed for my Arma 3 unit. How can I map the LR Radio keys so they work properly?

I can't remember the specific process in Xpadder (I haven't used it for a few years) but you need a slight delay before the 1 is pushed. Ctrl needs to be pressed and THEN 1, it won't work with both at the same time. You'll have to fiddle around with delays. xpadder.com/forum4/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=3137

This is a great video, but some of the buttons on this game I am trying to play do two things. With Xpadder it only seems to let me do one thing and not the other.

hey E.E. i mapped my controller in xpadder but when I added your profile for DAYZ the action buttons and the item buttons are not assigned could you please help?
darnell harris Did you make sure to disable the controller support in Dayz? I have instructions on that on my youtube video page for that profile.

Newer profiles will not work on the old, outdated builds of Xpadder. You probably get Range Check Error which means the profile is not compatible. You'll need newer version from xpadder.com

All my buttons are working perfect, except the left analog stick moves the mouse no matter what i do, even when the Xpadder program is closed, the left stick still moves the mouse around... any ideas how to fix this?
Dylan Car Completely closed? Even from taskbar. I think it's just minimized otherwise it shouldn't do anything at all when Xpadder is closed. It sounds like you need to tweak the deadzone. I go over that at 7:42
ExistentialEgg Thanks 4 the fast response! so yea the left stick moves the mouse around even when Xpadder is 100% closed, it is so frustrating because when we try and change the stick button it seems like its locked in that state, i even tried to uninstall the program completely and reinstalling it lol

How to make each profile linked with specific game .exe file so it autoruns the profile when I choose a certain game ?
I rarely do that because I always found it a pain so I'm not sure off the top of my head. It's not terribly difficult though. It's an option in one of the menus.
