Coach Tom Yankello breaks down a fighters stance with focus on the proper knee bend for maximum leverage, movement and power in this segment of A Boxing Film Study. So much emphasis is placed on bending the knees in athletics that sometimes we tend to exaggerate the concept. listen in as Coach Yankello makes some great points that put the knee bend in perspective! #dingding
Hey coach can u explain the overall stance also? Because I seen in one of your videos where u say something like your front foot shouldn’t be at an angle but pointed towards your opponent
Using the golf stance to show how to have perfect boxing foot position is genius. Simply open up the lead foot. Brilliant way to illustrate perfect boxing stance. That was the best way to describe perfect boxing foot position in a simple and concise way that I have ever seen💯
You weren't kidding when you named this channel world class boxing. I think you undersold yourselves. This is elite class boxing lol. What a great channel
Thank you for the solid information. I learned what bending the knees do for Boxing. I LOVE BOXING. This is really cool to know. Thank you for the detail. God bless you.
Very very very good break down I have all the talent it but I always felt something was off and by watching your videos really helped me and answered my question
World Class Boxing Channel I had that question in my mind for a very long time now. Do I stand on the ball of my back toe or more angled and flat foot. This explains as does your other video on this that you have greater balance. As Jamil McClien tried to push Calvin Brock around yet was unable to do so from the stance. This is the first time I’m seeing someone breaking this stance down in a professional manner. I’ve seen it explained before yet I was taught and convinced that standing on your back toe was the ready position. Thanks. I’ve traveled 🧳 all around to many boxing 🥊 gyms in New Jersey, Staten Island & Bucks County Pennsylvania gyms. It’s always a struggle to get top professional training from boxing coaches. I’m at a local gym now yet your channel is a one source stop for all boxing training. Thanks.
Coach, made some great points in this video i've heard coaches say to me before sit in your stance I don't think of it as a squat i think of it like I'm preparing to sit down and that helps me find the perfect bend for my knees.
Whatever cues it takes to find that comfortable athletic and balanced position! A sit is different than a knee bend because "sit" to me means drop the butt back and doing do keeps the weight better distributed. Thanks V! #dingding
Thanks for all of your amazing instruction! Like some of your comments on this video, I too have heard, "sit down on your punches for power." Could you address this topic in a video and perhaps use a few different body types to demonstrate variability? Thanks in advance -from the Canadian Outback
Bending more is difficult and uncomfortable. But with time, and if you have patience, and insist on this, you will likely turn out to be a better boxer. I was resistent for years, but I had to admit this situation to overcome my weakness. If one cant bend without suffering you have a limitation....
Tyson would bend his knees not to much but I don't think that bending your knees slightly will destroy punching power you want to be strong and planted to punch. Your power comes from legs and hip.
You aren't Mike Tyson or Jack Dempsey, they had a unique style that only worked for their style and build, plus, jack Dempsey most definitely bent at the waist too
@@BigBrainLynxbending knees is boxing basics. I genuinely think many of these coaches are fakers. Boxing is almost all legs. Your legs tell the story before the rest of your body do

GREAT VIDEO ! +1 like can you please do a video on mike tyson's square stance please ! thank you !
Sure. His stance appears to be square at times, but that is only in transition when changing angles. It is deceiving. Thanks for reaching us!
World Class Boxing Channel yeah thats the kind of pro advice that i search
Thank you sir ;)
Keep coming back. We got more coming soon! #dingding

Mike Tyson and jack Dempsey bend their knee's and had beautiful speed and style

But mike tyson bends at the knees
I said the same thing
You aren't Mike Tyson.
