8 out of 10 for my senior girl. Indoors only. Only have had her living with me for 2.5 years (previous human passed away) but I was able to gain her trust by giving her space and she has rewarded me with all her attention and affection.
this is a personal story, a story that happened recently. I was taking ccare of an outside cat, living rural, etc. not having alot of money, sucked. Anyways, I was taking care of her since May-June. Made the back of the garage her private paradise. I love her. It breaks my heart but what feels like so long already (about 2 weeks almost 3) she got out of the garage, during this time I was making efforts for being able to bring her in officially. the next day she was brought to the shelter, the neighbors caught her in a live trap. the shelter gave her back to her owners. (i was going to adopt her if they didn't find them or if the owners let me). Here is the thing, before winter, I let her come and go. I wasn't keeping her there, she chose to come back every day and eventually just starting hanging around. Always there when I went outside, even using a litter box I made for her instead of running off into the woods. For 7 months, I took care of a cat and the owners didn't try to look for her then. I get its not the shelters fault but oh do I wish they even mentioned someone was taking care of the owners cat. its like EVERYTHING i did is forgotten and never known, I can't stop thinking about her and just hurting. I am sure shes somewhere in one of the houses near me but the social anxiety, etc. the cat was the only thing that made me feel less alone. I miss being able to just look at the cat and just feel okay. Even putting her into a book im working on. this sucks. I want a cat but i cant stop wishing that Ivy (the cat) was here, home. because she was part of my home. tbh I am not apart of anyones home, so that cat means everything to me, and now im alone again. As I already said, the owners didn't look for her. I tried, I knocked on my neighbors doors (except a few) but when she first got out the garage. After the owners got her, I just feel so defeated like the owners who didn't knock on their neighbor doors to ask if they've seen their cat. Its how I found out she got to the shelter. its just stupid tbh and unfair tbh. She was the only thing I ever truly wanted for Christmas instead nothing.
OMG, my cat totally imprinted on me! She's always following me around, sleeping on my lap, and even grooming me. Who needs a boyfriend when you have a clingy cat? Vet approved, baby! #CatLover #ImprintedFurBaby
Love your videos! It’s like my cats have an internal clock and show up in the kitchen when it’s time to eat. 😊 One kitty brings me a toy from her toy basket, usually a shoelace we play with. All of them greet me at the door!
Happy Holidays / Merry Christmas Dr. Wooten! 🎄🎄🎄 ☃️ Thank you for all of your videos, and, . thank you for answering a calling and becoming a veterinarian. ❤
I have adopted an older cat and even though he is neutered, he has sprayed on me a few times in the past while sitting on my lap or sitting next to me. I’ve read that this happens when there has been a change in a cat's environment, either physically, or with the addition of people. This was very strange and new for me. I had adopted two cats in the past that died before I could bring myself to adopt again and non of them did this. But he was a very anxious due to the way his former owner used to treat him. And yes, he does all the 10 things you’ve just mentioned. The two cats that I had did just a few of these things.
My neighbour's orange tabby ("ginger") stops over just about every day. He comes into my house (tail up) and then rears up to meet my hand for a pat. He follows me about my house - like my shadow. We play with cat-safe toys. Yeah, he rolls onto his back to expose his belly. He always "marks" me. He jumps onto my kitchen counter, and we give each other head "boops." His rightful owners KNOW that cat visits me A LOT!. I watch him saunter down my driveway and WATCH him cross the street, to go home. He always hesitates at the end of my driveway and looks both ways before crossing my street!! "Charlie Ginger Tigger" has "adopted" me as another "parent." "Charlie Ginger Tigger" makes me feel like a kid again!
Me watching this even tho I know that me and my kitty are a bonded pair and we can hardly stay away from each other. 😂😂 Watching this with him in his favorite spot.
All but one, they don't bring me things. But then, they are indoor cats! They do go out for supervised time on the patio, but still not a lot to catch.
What does it mean if they're all over you and cuddle and stay glued to you for hours at a time and sleep in your bed with you, sleep on you, sometimes get so close to your face it seems they're checking to make sure you're still breathing, jmeow or trill at you requiring you stop to pet them everytime you pass them as you move through the house, jump on your back from atop the fridge to ride on your shoulder, pull your pony tail and or seem to try to take out your hair by the roots, roll over to give you their belly for rubs, chase your feet at 90 MPH to the point they crash into you and / or trip you because they can't get close enough, give you the BIG eyes and meow to you when the dog is bothering them because they know you'll take care of it, insist they must immediately lay on top of every item you own or touch to spread their scent throughout your entire world, meow like crazy if you're a little late bringing out their food because they're confident you'll do as they instruct you, greet you when you walk in the door, tap you with their paws relentlessly for non-stop pets and cuddles to the point you can't get your work done.... ...and THEN, disappear for 20 hours at a time sneaking off to hide and sleep in another dimension because they're nowhere to be found and ignore you when you call and search for them for so long that you start searching outside for HOURS convinced they must have gotten out and your life would end if something bad happened to them, act all offended and immediately get up and walk away if you initiate a pet or a belly rub as if you have no right to touch them.... I think this means one has a cat.
My dads cat is an odd one because she doesn't display these typical cat behaviours. She was born wild so maybe that has something to do with it but she didn't meow for years. She can meow now but it's very quiet. My now deceased cat displayed all but one of those signs. He didn't give me gifts and I've never had a cat bring me stuff either. I had a rooster who gave me gifts though. 😊 Just rubbish, like a piece of plastic he found, but it's the thought that counts.
Oh great, now I need a vet to tell me if my cat has imprinted on me. Can't wait to see all 10 signs and find out if my furry overlord has officially claimed me as their human. #catimprintgoals 🐱💕
Эй, если у тебя кошак и он на тебя прилепился как клей - значит он тебя заценил! Все ветеринары подтверждают, если кошак тебя любит, это значит что ты - хороший хозяин! 👍
My cat has definitely imprinted on me, Vet approved! She's always following me around, sitting on my lap, and even sleeping on my head at night. Who needs personal space anyway, right? 🐱💕 #CrazyCatLady
What about feral cats? There's a couple that come when I feed them, and they follow me outdoors. They sometimes meow at me. I want to trap them and find them homes, but would that be a good idea to take them from their environment and rehome? They are about 10 months old.
My cat will lay on my chest when we have a power outage and I can't use my CPAP machine. When I stop breathing, he kneads my chest rather hard to wake me up to breathe again
Have a question...my cat does many of these things, now after she has overcome acute kidney failure (she had it just before Thanksgiving) and is recovering well (back to her curious personality, playing along with back to normal eating, drinking and using the box), my question is: Is it normal for her to be be more clingy? She most of the time doesn't want me out of her sight or where she can't hear me. I don't mind it, and grateful to have her still with me (ESPECIALLY during Christmas 😊), but wonder if or when this behavior is something to be concerned about. Thanks and Merry Christmas 🎄😊
When you were a kid and didn't feel well, you always felt a little better when mom or dad held you. It's the same thing. You take care of your cat, and the cat is grateful, as well as just feeling better being with you. The problem was pretty recent, so the cat hasn't forgotten about it. You're helping with the healing process. Much of that clinginess will wear off after a while, but for now.... Being with mom makes kitty feel safe, loved, and generally "better".
My cat runs to my aide when she comes in no matter what's going on have thought about allowing cat to leave with her obviously doesn't want to be here 😢
OMG! Vet approved 10 signs your cat has imprinted on you? Better watch out, my cat is probably plotting to take over my life! 😹 #CrazyCatLady #CatObsessed
Well, if your cat has imprinted on you, you better start preparing for a lifetime of cuddles and attention! Vet approved, so you know it's legit. Looks like you've got yourself a furry little shadow following you around everywhere. Enjoy the attention, human!
This past spring time our ginger tabby cat suddenly lost interest in us and ran away and never came back -- it was weird. We super loved him and he got along super swimmingly with our other cats. We'd adopted him eight years ago. He immediately bonded with us and our cats. He slept on his back all over the house. He slept with us. It was just so heartbreaking that he literally ran away from us and never came back. We hope maybe he had found another human that he liked more than us.
I've had cats for 60 years. Only one had all 10. The others, anywhere from 3 - 7 of them. Merry Christmas Dr Wooten and Cats team.💙🐾🐾🌟🎄☃️

😅 my older cat brings me my socks and the younger one brings me water bottle caps😂❤🎉 love them so much
I have 4 adult cats. They absolutely do meow at each other.
Same - my cats meow to get the other to engage in chase games and to show off when they have a spring.

Thank you! Your advice is always wonderful and appreciated! Happy Holidays!

All 10 for me!
I call Momo💓 my puppy cat because she loves to like my face a lot.
When I take one of my 3 cats to the vet I put their cat bed in the pet carrier with a towel draped over it. That seems to keep them a lot calmer.
Mine hates cars will try towel I have 2 so have taken together so she knows won't be alone

My older cat does all these the younger one is still just a weirdo😂❤
Why not 12 for Christmas? Our cat OhDee 🐈 does almost all of these. He sleeps with us every nite. He is my foot warmer.

Don't stop looking also don't get hopes up. Was kitty fixed ??
@@guppy0536 Yes -- and chipped.
You don't look small. I would say you are an average size animal veterinarian.
I know you are a vet, a pet doctor, not a human doctor, but! I wonder, what are the signs that a human has imprinted on their pets? LOL
YT stop sending me garbage videos. This one is beyond acceptable crazy. Your cat does not care.
Really value your videos but THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CAT "OWNER"!!!!!
