    I've used the Wellness brand for quite awhile now, and my cats like it real well. I don't remember buying any Nulo, but am glad to know about it. Thank you! Another one my cats really like is Instinct.

    My cats won't touch Wellness food. Many years ago that is all my kitties would eat, but I'm sure they probably at some point in time changed the recipe and my current cats don't like it. I try to stay away from chicken due to having a cat that was allergic to it, many cats are. There are so many options out there it usually ends up what will the kitties eat. My guy would never eat food stored in the fridge, so for me the small cans are better and even the single serve packs take a lot of the guesswork out of how much I'm feeding them. Thanks for the video.

    I just found your channel and I've been searching for wet cat food with low ash content and I ended up choosing wellness complete health and other wellness and Nulo wet foods. I'm not feeding him dry food. He'll get some treats once in awhile and that will be dry. But they don't need dry food drive food is garbage.

    Very good video. Both are decent foods. I used to feed Nulo. Unfortunately, they are both high in calcium and phosphorus. I would find a different food, especially after 4 or 5 years old. Weruva makes several recipes that are lower in calcium and phosphorus than many Hill's recipes. The 10 ounce cans are affordable, 40 cents an ounce. My two cats get a mix of Weruva and homemade chicken and ground beef. Happy Feline Friday!

      I feed my cat 1 6 ounce can of Feline Natural (chicken or beef) and 1 6 ounce can of Tiki Cat Wild Salmon in salmon consumme. I look at it this way either spend 1500 per year on cat food or spend thousands in vet bills.

      Hi! Thank you so much! I'm always learning and appreciate the input! I think these are still great affordable options but I will definitely look into learning more about calcium and phosphorus levels in cat food. I will check out the Weruva recipes! Thanks for the recommendation! ☺️
      I do feed Ollie other foods as well but these are just some of the more affordable ones that I have in his feeding rotation.

    I mix wet with kibble 2X/day. Will be looking for these brands.
    BTW, that’s an odd skinny bowl - I thought cats don’t like anything that makes their whiskers touch the sides of the bowl. Also, your cat has to stick his head in that container to get all the food. I use a wide shallow bowl.

    • @lifewithollie_and_me
      @lifewithollie_and_me  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi! 🤗 Firstly, thanks so much for checking out our channel! You are totally right that it's best to have a bowl that isn't super deep.
      Maybe the camera doesn't properly show what the food bowl looks like. It's not a skinny bowl and it's relatively shallow to prevent whisker fatigue. It's also elevated to protect his neck.
      You are right that a wide shallow bowl is best!
      The fish bowl we have isn't too deep and our cat Ollie doesn't seem to have issues with his whiskers rubbing on the sides of this bowl so it works for him! He is a larger breed cat so maybe that makes a difference.

    How many days does 1 can feed your cat?

    • @lifewithollie_and_me
      @lifewithollie_and_me  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @bonnie.yarbrough The 12.5 oz cans lasts Ollie 3 days where he gets 2 meals of the day that include the wet food. So these cans could last a little longer or less depending on how many meals a day you're feeding it.
      I also feed Ollie freeze dried foods so I am able to make the wet food last a bit longer since I'm not solely feeding him only the wet food.

    It doesnt matter how nutritious a cat food is if the cat doesnt eat it its just a lot of money wasted,my Abyissinan will not touch ANY pate and doesnt eat 90% of the canned cat foods I have tried maybe 10 or 20,the only one she likes is Friskies chicken and lately she turns her nose up on it and only eats her Fromms dry food.

    • @lifewithollie_and_me
      @lifewithollie_and_me  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That's true! When transitioning foods, of course, you always want to do so slowly anyway since cats need to be introduced gradually to new foods. You can buy a smaller pack of new food to start if you don't know if your cat will like it or not, that way you don't waste a lot of money.
      A way to slowly introduce new foods is by mixing it into their current foods to slowly get them used to the new ones. If you mix just a small amount to their current food, the cat will be more likely to eat the new food without realizing it if that makes sense.
      I hope this helps! Of course, you know your cat the best! These brands also have shredded foods that your cat might like since you mentioned your cat doesn't like pate.

      Cats do not need grains to be healthy. They are obligate carnivores. Vets work with food brands that use grains in their food so unfortunately many vets recommend those brands even though they aren't the most biologically appropriate food for cats.
