Thousands of young pupils have been waiting anxiously for their final matric results, which are being released later than usual this year.
Umalusi, the quality assurance body tasked with assessing the credibility and integrity of the results, has given the go-ahead for their release this week.
Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga is expected to hold a media briefing to announce the national results at 18:00 on 19 January.
