Orthodoxy opened my eyes that being a Christian isn’t all sunshine and rainbows like the Protestants portray, but rather a constant struggle to strive for repentance and eternal life.
Amen.
Beautifully stated.
Only half protestants though. We need to know their teachings to persuade into becoming orthodox.
How is it that Protestants bring more people to Christ than Orthodox or Catholic. They take the Great Commission more seriously than the others. Why is that?
Protestant here. What in Sam Hill are you talking about. All you guys care about is your club status. I dont take any Christian seriously (of any sect) unless they at least volunteer. It tells me all I need to know
@@thindog1668 average Protestant lmao.
It’s not easy to be orthodox. You need hole life to learn and understand what real goals are and ,by the Grace of Holy Spirit go step by steps to salvation and continue even after death. Thanks Fr.Peter always enjoyed your teachings.
Yet God pushes you gently towards the right direction 😉
Some people live a much shorter life than others.

Bro!!!! This topic is some important… orthodox ethos on point again!
This is why I don’t get along with my family except my mom and father… the rest are Protestants and they think that once they accept Jesus they can do whatever they want… they can judge you,. Humiliate you, destroy your business deals….but because they accept Jesus everything is okay… this is why I don’t get a long with them.. and I not sure if that’s a sin…. If their heresy which makes them mistreat me makes it a sin for me not talking to them. Lord have mercy on me.
I feel your pain. What DO we do in that situation? Forgive? Sure. But aren’t we also supposed to preserve our inner peace as well? I’d love for OE to answer this!
Isn't it strange
How some people who have " accepted" the Lord act as if they can do, live how they please .... they're free to accost, humiliate, slander and oppress people and yet think nothing of it?
Judge Not lest Ye be..

Since when is one saved by accepting Christ? Looks like we need to understand how one is saved, before talking about it.
Light does not have fellowship with darkness. Our Lord came not to bring peace, but a sword.
Once saved always saved is a heresy.
Once saved always saved is heresy to those who are not saved..The saved d'ont have an issue with once saved always saved because we are saved.. Stop putting your faith in your self righteousness and starting your faith in Jesus Christ and get saved...

Sola scriptura proddies are conveniently literal.
One example: they conveniently overlook passages in Revelation which clearly state that names have been blotted out in the book of life.

I wish strength and patience to Father Petro because I learned a few days ago that there are some Rocor Bishops that accuse him as ''dangerous'' to the faithful.

With due respect, anything coming out of either moskow or the diaspora, even rocor, should be very carefully and prayerfully discerned.

However, most non politicised Saints associated with moskow patriarchate (ie. St. Serephim of Sarov) are wonderful!
@@ianmackenzie686There is a Priest here called Father Evanggelos Papanikolaou, who met personally all the modern saints in Greece back in the 90's-80's, who told that the Russian Orthodox Church has some very bad habbits and is endangered to become a second Vatican out of its pride to become the new Byzantium.
He also said exactly that you mention, that Russian has many great saints, actualy some of the greatest saints of all time, because they kept themselves away from the core of church leadership.

@@Razamaniac Hello. There is a prophecy in the deuterocanonical Third Book of Ezra, chapter 12.32-34 about a king that will reign before the Last Judgment - ,,This is the anointed, which the Highest hath kept for them and for their wickedness unto the end - he shall reprove them, and shall upbraid them with their cruelty. 33 For he shall set them before him alive in judgment, and shall rebuke them, and correct them. 34 For the rest of my people shall he deliver with mercy, those that have been pressed upon my borders, and he shall make them joyful until the coming of the day of judgment, whereof I have spoken unto thee from the beginning.'' Modern saints explain it with a future tzar in Russia.

The Last African Emperor of Roman Empire (from the third horn) that with his death will start the end times. God Will never leave his faithful with a shepherd and the Holy Communion. Something most people forget, Holy Communion will exist until the end of the world wherever the Church is gathering (in the desert).
Joseph Stalin was a Orthodox seminarian on a path to become an Orthodox priest. He was baptized as a baby in December 1878.
One of the best refutations I know of to "once saved always saved".
Judas the betrayer walked with Christ.
@@JHGSPTook the words right out of my mouth 😂☦️
You know what their response will be - that neither Stalin nor Judas were ever saved to begin with, therefore your argument is invalid. If someone believes OSAS it's usually over, without God's grace you'll be unable to open their eyes.
@@PrzybyszzMatplanety That sounds a bit like Calvinism. It's wrong because it denies free will. It's why both Calvinism and 'once saved always saved' is wrong. Both break free will.
@@stevelenores5637 Call it whatever you want, but there are two types of Protestant: those who are open to accept different interpretations of the Scripture and those who know they're the only ones interpreting it correctly "because the Holy Spirit guides me but not thee". Good luck trying to reason with them.
5.57-6.08 - ,,Salvation is not a legalistic, moralistic, in this realm at all but it’s a whole restoration of the person according to the image and likeness of God.’’ But it is both. I am Orthodox. If justification in the NT meant only theosis (which it does indeed) but not also a legal acquittal, then James 2.24 doesn't make sense because the works by which we are justified, except by faith, are only a manifestation of God's uncreated grace working in us but not a condition for theosis because grace as a gift always precedes the synergistical works. But then we would come to the Protestant conclusion that we are not justified by works, too. But still that conclusion is false, regardless of the arguments for it, hence that that we are justified by the synergistical works (James 2.24) is said in a legal sense.
One of the more unnerving aspects of this is when you couple it with the Protestant dichotomy of sanctification and justification. For them, the biggest thing for the OSAS crowd is if you’re saved (justified). That’s all that matters. That’s all they want to hear is when you got saved. Sanctification is cool and all to them but it plays no part in salvation. That’s why Arminianism had a huge issue with antinomianism is the 19th century and that idea is still a possibility to this day if sanctification (as Protestants conceive it) has no salvific role. Because then it fundamentally does not matter how you life after your justification.
When I was Baptist, I bought one of my pastor’s books on this topic (Freed from Sin: A Primer on Holiness) and that became a glaring issue when he discussed sanctification. He posited that, when we sin, we merely lose communion with God. Our repentance reallows that but it, somehow, has no bearing on your salvation. Even more fun was the fact I was Calvinist, just go read Calvin’s commentary on Hebrews 6:4 and you’ll see how much worse that is with an idea similar to OSAS called perseverance of the saints.
Hello. I am Orthodox. You are right but although Protestants do not consider sanctification as necessary for salvation, that does not mean that although justification means theosis, justifaction does not also mean a legal justification, or that that legal justification could be only a one-time event as Protestants perceive it. It is continuous throughout our whole life just like sanctification is. If justification does not mean also a legal acquittal, then the works by which we are justified, except by faith (James 2.24), would be only a manifestation of God's uncreated grace but not a condition for theosis since grace as a gift always precedes the synergistical works. But that is a Protestant rejection of works which is false, regardless of the arguments for it, hence that that we are justified by the synergistical works (James 2.24) is said in a legal sense. The rejection of legal justification is a modernistic trend in Orthodox theology that is not less than a century old.
It's not biblical.
The Bible does speak of repentance, many times...
The Scriptures state to guard your heart, restrain your tongue...
OSAS implies there is no accountability, no consequence to our actions, how we live.
Jesus said that 1 day, All would have to account for what God has given.
The Bible states that ALL must stand before God and render an account and be judged!
ALL Not Some!

We were saved when Christ was crucified and resurrected. We are being saved during our individual lives, and we will be saved at the return of Christ and the great judgment/resurrection. It’s not a legalistic thing that happens in one moment. 🙏🏻☦️
What about the many orthodox who are just simple believers and don’t reach Theosis? Are they doomed?
That’s between God and them
Philippians 2:12
1 John 4:20
This verse says it all.
Many " Christians" claim to Love God
And yet they despise Anyone who is not of their particular sect, denominations or way of thinking...
Evangelicals hate Catholics, Orthodox, Lutherans, Anglicans....
The Bible states Love thy neighbor
Jesus said to Love your enemies...
Jesus said of the Good Samaritan.." Go and Do as he did!"
He did Not say Go and Believe as he did. He said Go and DO!
Evangelicals say that " works" mean nothing and yet our ancestral patriarchs were justified Bu their works...

Abraham
Jacob
Isaac
Joseph
Jesus also said “ if you say you love Me but hate your brother you are lying and truth is not in you!” Many Protestants are not true believers according to Jesus words.
Once saved you will always have the holy spirit, unless you deliberately renounce it. However I believe you do have to act like a Christian to truly call yourself one and for Christ to actually make use of you. You can't just accept salvation then act like Satan and think that's fine.
How would you explain Ephesians 1 where it talks about being sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise?
You will always have the free will to tell God to go away. He doesn't remove our free will. Is what I would say.
@@crbgo9854keyword "sealed"
You have to view that scripture in light of the context of the other scripture that much more explicitly conveys this view to inform what that in particular means.
Jesus taught this same truth about Salvation and even later in the epistles it’s referenced in Hebrews the seriousness of falling away and it’s laid out and shown to be possible even after partaking of the Holy Spirit and exercising His gifts.
How would you explain Philippians 2:12
