    For those who have a problem in saying "Mary, save us" because you think it is blasphemy, just remember that we don't believe that Mary can save us in the same sence God do. Salvation comes from God only! But creatures can save us in another sense. Just like a doctor, a firefighter, a soldier, a lifeguard, a dog, a remdey, can save our lives, Mary can save our lives by her preyers.

      @slavplaysgames I always understood it as something deepening in the faith since they are made through meditation and prayer. I also find there's better ways to support my church.
      Though I take your words into consideration, I will continue doing this since for now at least the authority figures didn't see it as something wrong

      @@slavplaysgames Says who? Are you his priest or spiritual father? Almost every priest I've ever talked to would disagree with you. Prayer ropes aren't magical talismans, they're simple tools. They're not icons and they're not holy water, they only exist to help you count. The desert fathers first used pebbles to count their prayers. You certainly should consult a priest before starting some kind of prayer rule.
      Even if you were right and they were wrong, why would you ask them if they think it's a joke in a nasty way? That's a weird assumption. Sometimes people just don't know what you do, that doesn't mean they're taking things lightly.

      There is ZERO reason why you can’t use a prayer rope / rosary. It’s a device to help simplify and ease your mind while praying so you can focus more fully on God. No need to new track of time or where you are at…the rope does that for you.

    This is on par with a rosary, it is not in Scripture so I will not use it. Y’all read your Bibles for yourself.

    • @LovedLamb
      @LovedLamb 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Rosary isn't in the bible either. Orthodox and Western Catholics made their own prayer tools. Just cuz the rosary mentions accounts in the bible doesn't mean it's from the Bible. You can use both prayer tools as long as you do pray. The prayer rope was used by many Saints and it worked cuz it's mostly asking God himself for forgiveness for sin and saving. Ofc you can ask Saints among them the mother of God for intercessions as long as you pray for forgiveness and help for ones soul.

      Ouch, so judgemental
      Hey Easter isn't mentioned in the bible either...

    • @LovedLamb
      @LovedLamb 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@annhamilton7319 Actually it is. Easter is actually called "The Passover" in the Old Testament and is mentioned several times since God himself told us to celebrate it. Jews celebrate it to remember how God freed them from slavery in Egpyt (source: Exodus). We also call Easter Pascha in almost every language besides English and German, if you want bible verses or know more about the origins of Pascha ask right away. You can also go the traditional way by learning from reading. The Bible is available almost everywhere so go seek it out and learn about Paschas origin.
      If you are Greek like me you would also notice that they call it Pascha not Passover meal cuz yknow "language/vocabulary". Even Jesus celebrated it. Yknow the famous painting of the last supper? Guess what festivity it was for them to gather around a table to eat together? It was a day before his crucifixion. We Christians celebrate Jesus's resurrection instead Moses helping God free the Hebrews from the Pharaoh cuz with his appearance God started his mission to embrace Gentiles aka foreigners into his arms and stopped being only the God of the Israelites (fun fact foreigners were allowed to worship him, God never forbid foreigners to believe in him he only forbid Abrahams descendants to worship idols).

      This practice predates the canon by centuries. Protestants don't know these things because they have taken the entirety of Holy Scripture of the context of the Holy Tradition that produced it in the first place. Thereby taking the entire bible out of context in one fell swoop - every last verse. You bank your entire salvation on a 16th century innovation of intellectual assent to an ideology about a badly mischaracterized Christ. You are deluded. Also, it is in the Bible. The prayer of the publican, pray without ceasing, pray in secret. EDIT: I used to believe just like you so I have hope that you will get it right before your time is up. Fear and trembling sister. Work it out.
