Thank you, Vivian! You are so good at explaining things, and it's memorable. You should write a book. Are there any books that you recommend? Thank you❤
I will be forever grateful to you, you changed my whole life and I will continue to preach on your behalf for the whole world to hear that you saved me from huge financial debt with just a small Investment, thank you Jihan Wu you're such a life saver
As a beginner in this, it’s essential for you to have a mentor to keep you accountable. Mr Jihan Wu is also my invest analyst, he has guided me to identify key market trends, pinpointed strategic entry points, and provided risk assessments, ensuring my investment decisions align with market dynamics for optimal returns.
Omg I just watched your full TH-cam video on this. And you explained it so well, and thorough. I’m ready to start investing, and continue to learn more. I love you my Rich BFF
Trump's policies had been viewed by many experts as more positive for the financials sector, spurring this massive rally. It's enticing to consider purchasing some stocks, I'm contemplating investing more than $300k. Thoughts?
It seems like there's potential, but caution is warranted. hence I will advice you get yourself a financial advisor that can provide you with entry and exit points
I've been in touch with a financial analyst ever since I started investing. Knowing today's culture The challenge is knowing when to purchase or sell when investing in stocks, which is pretty simple. On my portfolio, which has grown over 90% in a little over a year, my advisr chooses entry and exit orders
Real talk, if you aren't even planning on living that long or to an arbitrary age of 60-or-whatever, how would you frame investing for a comfortable, just get by, kind of planning?
Choose the brokerage account and then do a search for conflict free index funds or ETs. They do have higher expense ratio compared to regular total stock market index funds or ETFs.
Investing in "feel good" investments historically have well underperformed the market. Both in terms of raw performance and having higher fees. Vivian would be good to do a video on this. Investing is to put your money to work earning more money, not make you a good person. Owning a microscopic fraction of an evil company does not make you evil. Don't jeopardize your future on bad investments under the guise of it making you a good person.
That seems like an oxymoron. Can't think of too many high performing legacy companies that aren't problematic in some way or other. But I do hope you find what you're looking for. Would be lovely if we could support the right industries and still make some money for ourselves too
Please make a detailed class or something similar of this very topic! People speak of investing and I want to do it, but I need it scaled way down and this was explained perfectly in a way that clicked for me.
Index funds in the form of ETFs is the best way to invest lump sum versus trying to stock pick. I’ve been out of the markets due to trauma as a wanna be day trader and saw my wealth wipe out in a blink of an eye. Since then I’ve been saving a lot of cash over the years and now have a little over $300k. I could have made more if I was in the market but I just didn’t know how to approach it after my big loss. I’m thinking of keeping 20% in cash reserves, 60% in ETFs and the remaining 20% in random stocks I think have potential in the long run. After reading many books the best practice is to learn financial psychology first to keep your emotions in check before trading or investing!
This is so basic. As Asian parents, we teach our children these basics when they are 10 to teenagers. This is one of the reasons why Asian Americans are more financially successful.
@@BlackninjahLover A quick Google search says it's dividend reinvestment plan, which basically means instead of having dividends deposited into your account, they're reinvested automatically.
I disagree about the dividends. I’ve only seen a couple of good dividend stocks. I’m more of an ETF investor/trader but I also do crypto so I can’t say I’m risk free 😂
For some people that would be 10-15+ more years which wouldn’t make any sense to invest $0 until all debt is gone . It’s smarter to start with a small consistent amount and up it as your debt is being paid down.
I just recently started focusing on my retirement accounts. A bit late to start but better late than never. Is there a reason you didn’t recommend SPY for your index fund picks ?
Ty. So much. I worry so much lately is my family’s stock investments are safe. I’m afraid Elon will try to destabilize our economy, by pushing crypto. Crypto is scary bc I don’t think it’s regulated and there are many crypto investor scammers who are know to trick seniors.
I don’t like Elon but I do crypto. I’ve doubled my initial investment in 9 months and while I don’t think it’s bad it is risky/volatile so I don’t promote it. There are scammers in every finance area it doesn’t mean that thing is a scam. Same with short term trading.
Potatoes thank you, I appreciate your help in understanding. You can read about my relatives loss by a crypto right here on TH-cam. It’s on a news station. I really worry bc crypto is new and feel it’s easier to scam than financial advisors who you could verify their credentials in the USA by searching. I’m happy you won money 👍
Hey Vivian, can you talk about 401K, please? I had gotten one from my employer, but I didn't know what to invest in. I was lost so I just pick whatever the company gave me. I've been investing since 2013, but I do not know anything about 401K's.
i think your advice is generally very good. however, saying that Roth IRAs cannot be touched until "youre old😂" isn't correct. you can borrow from them and self direct them. im sure thats more complicated than many new investors can handle at first. its just potentially discouraging people from choosing those.
Vivían how can we help our parents keep their money during this next administration? More to the point where do we put our money to be kept safe and grow in case the economy crashes?

According to history, there is a tendency for the market to make profit on a presidential year. Also Trump being a businessman, you'd expect him to focus on making a profit.
@shhhhock I mean Trump filed bankruptcy several times. He also wants to place tarifs. He also wants to eliminate government departments which means job losses. He's also stated he wants to end school loan program which would mean less money for those people to spend in the economy. Not to mention reducing social security, reducing Medicare, and ending the ACA. Unhealthy people can't work.

Is the market too high now? Seems unsustainable as is. Agree with index funds.
The market flows up and down like any other market. You can’t time when to get in.
Can you please post your favorite picks from Fidelity? That's where my retirement fund is.
You are awesome. What can I invest in at age 63?
How about investing on Bitcoin?
So should we do index funds or etfs
Is it OK? Can you open any of these with like $3000? I don’t have much and I’m 66 but I need to start somewhere.
If I buy stocks with post-tax dollars, and then later cash out on those stocks, will I get taxed again? How do I avoid being double taxed?
You only have to pay tax on the capital gain

They track the same index so they have almost identical track records, but VOO is cheaper.
I used to get VOO and it was good
What about of you're age is late 60's?
What can you give if u are already in your 60's?
Hi, we don’t have any sites to open Roth IRAs in Europe, do we?

Why you’re taking about young investors and never of people after retirement?
My bestie
60? Its 67 for me 😢
You want to go to a low cost investment house like Vanguard or Fidelity.
And don't ever buy an annuity.
How do you screen out banks/organizations that conflict with personal morals?
Is there a Canadian TH-camr that you can recommend similar to your content?
My favorites are Canadian in a T-shirt, Brandon Beavis, and Steph & Den.

Should not fear. Fiat is dead. New money backed by gold would be nice, wouldn't it?
Economic experts saying they expect a recession by mid next year. Not sure if it's the best time.
