God bless you sir for saving this beautiful EK9 Type R. I've been wanting to own one of these my entire life. The closest I got was an EG6 with an Integra Type R engine and transmission. It was my favorite car that I've ever owned. Perfectly reliable and quick for what it was. I owned it and took great care of it for over 10 years and never let it get a single spot of rust. I never put a turbocharger or supercharger on it, so the best I was able to get was 180 horsepower at the wheels in N/A trim after some bolt on performance parts and weight savings. Still, it was great power for such a light car. I still miss that car to this day. The guy I sold it to for $6,000 ruined it in less than a month. First thing he did was rip the engine out to sell it and get most of his money back, and he put in a $400 B20 engine from a CRV. I think he meant to do a B20 Vtec with a B16 head, but it never happened. He tried to drive the car throughout the winter and quickly wrecked it in less than a month. It really upset me to see the car completely ruined in under 30 days after I spent over 10 years taking good care of it, swapping in the B18c and LSD transmission, upgrading the intake manifold to the Skunk 2 Ultra with port matched 67mm throttle body, all new hasport motor and transmission mounts, whiteline sway bars and end links, 5 lug conversion with brand new hubs and brakes front and rear from an Integra Type R, body work and new paint when I first got it, 2.75 inch exhaust from the headers back. I had the car tuned on a hondata S300 I had installed into the P28 Computer. You did a wonderful job restoring your rescued EK Civic Type R. I'm glad it was you that found it and saved it from becoming complete piece of scrap to be crushed. Extremely good restoration.

They even welded custom full exhaust based on program for Nascar cars. He also owns the original NSX.
I had two EG6s: a 1992 SiR II and a 1991 SiR. I've also owned a 2001 Integra Type R (DC5 model) and a 1997 Civic Type R. I currently own a 1996 Integra Type R (DB8). I love my DB8, but an EG6 with an ITR B18C swap is like my dream car. I will always have a soft spot for the EG6; and honestly, none of the Type Rs I have owned have ever resonated with me the way the EG6 has.

I’ve never watched a video where it’s one guy doing all the work, especially to that level of perfection. Awesome job and I hope you made a ton of money when you sold it!
Civic Type-R is one of my favorite cars, no matter the year. What you did with this one, was pure art. It's so good to see people with the know how, restoring "old" things that should be kept in good shape. 80's and 90's in my opinion were the best decades for car lovers and enthusiast, shame people that had one of these, in most cases don't give them the value they deserve in my opinion, they end like the one you restored. Last thing, you did all that without a lift, which would surely help a lot, my respect to you man.
It no doubt made a lot of Honda Civic Type R enthusiasts in the United States happy when Honda decided to start selling the Type R here in the United States in 2017.
I actually can’t put into words how insane this rebuild was to watch. The absolute eye for detail and effort this must of taken is really impressive mate. I really found this video inspiring. Great work buddy.
Fair play. Most channels would've spread this build over many months and episodes. You deserve the view count alone for sticking it all in one video let alone the grind you put into the car. 🙌🏼🙌🏼
I'm definitely not a import guy but the amount of skill, time and love that went into bringing this car back to showroom quality is excellent! Very nice!
I love how you involved your kids in the restoration. Some people would argue that’s not useful to them but I believe most of the viewers will agree that this was quality time spent with them doing something that you love
Gotta start somewhere! Im having a boy in April and I definitely plan to include him in things like this as he grows. I never had a father to do this kind of thing with so I wanna change that.
I was never interested in cars as a child but my younger brother was. He always helped dad with cars as a child and now he's got his own garage and car dealership. As for me, I'm using my college degree to wipe my butttt.
Thank you for giving an old, almost ready for the scrapyard car a new lease of life which it rightfully deserves, instead of being abandoned and neglected. And what an amazing job watching it transform! If this civic could speak, it would thank you from the bottom of its heart I'd imagine.
Even tho I can see the video, it is difficult to comprehend how it is possible to restore such a neglected vehicle. Amazing and brilliant. The talent, problem solving and will power it must take to create what is now a piece of drivable art is above next level. I hope one day this car might find its way into a museum. Bravo.
I just love how he pays attention to every single detail on the car.... Wish I could get trained on how to rebuild a car from this expert.. Absolutely credible. Best in the world 🌍
First of all, Your a wizard. I Couldn't even imagine the finished products quality. Secondly this was a complete story in one video which is rare you on TH-cam. Are you keeping it?
This was amazing. I could only wish to have a fraction of the time, talent, and knowledge that this guy has to not only accomplish an amazing project like this, but make a great you-tube video about it as well. Nice job
You'll be amazed what you can do the more you do something, everything comes from experience. You're absolutely right about something the "time". I have a evo 8 with a blown fp black turbo sitting in my garage for almost a year waiting on parts to come in. Now that I have everything to complete the job, I need to finish my garage to setup a 9 piece cabinet set so I can work on the evo comfortably, but have very little time.
Im not even a honda person but what you pulled out of those bushes was barely even a car, no matter the rarity. I am extremely impressed lol you did an amazing job 👍
Not a big Honda fan but can really respect a compassionate and respectful restoration. No wraps, fart cans or silly paint job. Thing of beauty. Would happily drive about in that car.
That's honestly just beautiful, the effort and craftsmanship that went into this is phenomenal. Fantastic work my man, I understand things like these take a lot of time and resources to finish and it came out sick!
What a legend. This has always been a dream of mine, to fully rebuild an iconic vehicle from scratch. This was an absolute treat to watch. Thank you for posting this!
totally agree. this was incredible. i'm doing exactly the same thing as well, but with a 1992 Celica ST185 All-Trac Turbo. Pulled it out of the dirt halfway burred in the woods. All 4 tires were seized as it was pulled onto the trailer. It takes incredibly hard work, I'm about a year and a half in now, still going. Rare car, even rarer year, even rarer color. It has to be worth it in the long run. 272k miles, sat 13 years, after i did the fuel lines, pump, gas tank it started up lol.
I’ve been wanting to do this same build for the past 10 years. This just gave me so much motivation. You did such an amazing job. That car was destined to rust out and never see the road again. You not only brought it back to life but looks just as good as the day it was new. Once again amazing job
The respect I have for you is endless, this is the knowledge I wish school could teach and it’s amazing how you restored it which most would have put to the junk yard, I’m giving a subscribe for this👌
School 🤣 School has been proved obsolete for the last 25 years as internet and self education is so easy and free of charge schools are only there for compulsory brain washing to create good slaves because teaching children to become good factory workers has proven obsolete as well since that's no longer the economy we have.
Love what you do.Not only do you do incredible work IN YOUR GARAGE WITHOUT A HOIST, WITHOUT A SPECIALISED PAINT BOOTH AND YOU WORK IN THE FRIGGIN COLD!!
Thank you for saving that iconic 90's car! They were so rare; we cannot afford to lose one of them. She deserved it and you were the right person to do it!
As an FK8 owner, and Honda enthusiast of 16 years, this was insanely motivating. I live in the states, so acquiring an ek9 is near impossible unless I'm spending insane money. Thank you so much for this video, and for the motivation to build a clone over here (unless I can find a good deal on one).
@@axe2grind244 I managed to buy an ek9 from an old lady who stored it in her garage and drove it a few times a week. It only had 70k miles and perfect paint. all for 1k :)
I cannot put into words how awesome this is. I’ve always had a love for “Tuners” over “American Muscle” and this makes my heart happy. I’m in love with this car. I have always wanted a Honda Civic Type R, but being 6’5” it’s kinda hard to fit and be comfortable. Absolutely killed this build my guy. It was pleasant to watch, and I look forward to watching more in the future! Cheers!
I work for Honda and drive type r every other day! I stand at 6’7 and fit perfectly in them. My buddy is 6’6 and fits fine!! You shouldn’t have a problem so you should think about getting one
American muscle is trash imo. It's just a truck in a car shell. Tuners are way cooler. You take something so small and make it into a weapon. Literally good luck staying flat to the road in a hellish modded out eg or Ek hatch 😂 It's when they have big mufflers that aren't actually mufflers but 4 inch gaping hole chambers to make the sound ping off the stainless. I've had a big muffler on a civic and sounded amazing. Not farty at all
@@grahammypoo3994 think about getting one? Lol they aren't the most common around the world bro but I get ur comment. There's probably only 100 of them in Canada if that FFS. Maybe one day. The 99-00 Si-R is more common but even that is rare as fuck

the amount of skill in one video is too damn much man, seriously this is the first video i have watched on your channel and hit sub and like right away. cheers mate, keep the good stuff coming.
He’s not going to do a full restoration in 4 months so obviously takes longer and then posts full video. He could do 3 - 20 minutes per week for months but obviously prefers people to see it all in one video
The thing I love most about your restorations is that you do a really nice job, without being a perfectionist. A "good enough" job - and I mean that as a compliment. It reminds me that restoring my 98 hatcback is an attainable goal if I just want it to look good and enjoyavle again, without the expense and time of a "perfect" restoration. Love it man, thank you!
This is my first time watching a full car restoration and i gotta say it was pretty awesome. I could barely do an oil change and tire rotation but this was art! Subscribed!

What an incredible build. The attention to detail, the labor of love that was put into this, can tell that you put all your heart and effort into it, and it came out amazing ❤🔥
Awesome build. Every time you were doing something I was like, "I hope he does the ____ too." And then you did. So happy to see you take the time to do little details like redoing the valve cover, and restoring the headlights. The entire project was a great watch.

As a lifetime Honda fan and owner of many older Hondas, this super nice restoration job warmed my heart. :)
He is an artist!
I’m not mechanically minded myself, but I love watching this kind of thing. Much respect to you for bringing it back to its former glory!
Anyone can be mechanically inclined brother if i gotta be honest with you what mostly all mechanics do is wing it until it goes right
I actually can’t put into words how insane this rebuild was to watch. The absolute eye for detail and effort this must of taken is really impressive mate. I really found this video inspiring. Great work buddy.
*Must’ve
As a father myself, seeing you working with your boys makes me very happy. Great build my friend!
Very nice!
Yeah well as Ireland doesnt make cars, everything is import 🙂
Ditto!
‘’I’m definitely not *an import guy’’ yeah nobody watching this video friggin cares

Even tho I can see the video, it is difficult to comprehend how it is possible to restore such a neglected vehicle. Amazing and brilliant. The talent, problem solving and will power it must take to create what is now a piece of drivable art is above next level. I hope one day this car might find its way into a museum. Bravo.
You need to really push to get these projects done almost like on autopilot everyday! Thanks for taking the time to watch it 👍
Whoever owned this car before didn't deserve this beauty of a car. You did an Absolutely amazing job restoring this!!
Alot of work! Thanks for watching
Simple tools, simple shop, and God Hand and determination. Kudos! I’ll start my journey with very old hondas.
Yes definitely, thank you for watching
This is the most satisfying restoration video I've seen , totally back to original , all done by your own hands. You are an Inspiration 👌
Thank you for the nice comment!
I watch your restoration videos repeatedly because you’ve motivated me to go to college to learn about cars. I plan to build cars like you one day.

@@WeTryMotorsports you got a gem right there lol those old celicas are reliable
@@WeTryMotorsports course it did. At the end of the day after all the rare aspects of the car…it’s a Toyota.

I have been watching your stuff, the level of your craftwork is beyond limits. All done with just basic tools, no fancy lifts and crazy toolboxes.

School has been proved obsolete for the last 25 years as internet and self education is so easy and free of charge schools are only there for compulsory brain washing to create good slaves because teaching children to become good factory workers has proven obsolete as well since that's no longer the economy we have.

Jesus. I can't imagine. Yall two. I'm 6 1 and I have the same problem.
American muscle is trash imo. It's just a truck in a car shell. Tuners are way cooler. You take something so small and make it into a weapon. Literally good luck staying flat to the road in a hellish modded out eg or Ek hatch 😂
It's when they have big mufflers that aren't actually mufflers but 4 inch gaping hole chambers to make the sound ping off the stainless. I've had a big muffler on a civic and sounded amazing. Not farty at all

The thing I love most about your restorations is that you do a really nice job, without being a perfectionist. A "good enough" job - and I mean that as a compliment.
