I've been interested in seeing a tribo in action. Very interesting to say the least. I would like to point out, however, Corona style systems are operating at very high voltage at the tip (typically between 25 and 100 thousand volts (kV)). The reason it doesn't shock you too bad is because the guns are current limited (typically 0-100 microamps), and are low capacitance. This is very similar to common static voltage/current we see.
this looks promising for 2 and 3 coats, I currently use the Eastwood dual voltage system and the only way that i can get good coverage on the second coat is to preheat. have you done many multi coat jobs with this yet? If so how does it compare, do you still have to preheat?
Would you recommend this one over the Eastwood gun for doing tumblers?
Having some trouble with bubbling up around the bottom seal of a stainless cup. Got any tips?
Who said the Eastwood wont hurt ya if you get bit by it!! That a huge lie! My Eastwood has jumped out 8 inches and see the electric hit my hand about 3 times a second! And it damn well hurts bad.. I had to through my gun to get away from it. This new Tribo is awesome you can hold the part while you powder it..

where can I get one & how much?
So, to date, how many powders have you had trouble with using tribo? I am thinking of getting this gun since I have so many issues with multi-coats, but have close to 150 powders from Eastwood, Prismatic & PBTP on hand.
So, where do you get more empty jars and replacement parts? What is the warranty??Links to parts, warranty, powders????????????????????????
im not sure if you have inverted the polarities.. something like gun is negative and the target positive, so the ions are attracted to the target.

in europe you can get a similar item from a company called "nordic pulver" i believe. it looks almost the same

Great review! I am considering a tribo gun but I am worried that 220volts are going straight to my hand - how is this made safe enough? Is it more dangerous than a eastwood electrostatic gun?
I'm ready to buy my powder coating gun should I buy the Eastwood dual voltage hot coat powder gun or the tribo bolt powder coating system? The Tribo bolt system can I buy the powder from other companies if so do u recommend one?
So it's been 6 years since you posted this video. Have you had any trouble applying any powders with the tribo gun - metallics, etc? Would you choose this over a regular corona gun?
