    I show you how I built my two launch ramps. One launches at a 45 degree angle for maximum height and distance, and the other at a 30 degree angle for good long jumps.
    If you plan to use these ramps for objects heavier than standard RC cars, like bikes or anything else you ride on, they will need more structural support. So do not use this as a guide for that.
    After building, we take it for a test drive with a few of our cars to show you how they work!

    Another good ramp building tip is for flipping ramps put a radius continuously from bottom to top and for straight stable trajectory jumps there should be at least a vehicle length of straight at the lip of the ramp. This lets the suspension settle out before leaving the ramp and the vehicle flies straight.

    note: everything greater than 45 degree angle is just extending the air-time not how far the car will fly. for example: a 50 degree angle results in a longer air-time but the car will fly as far as if it would jump from 40 degree angle.

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I still use them all the time, well mostly the bigger one. Do yourself a favor and get bigger casters. Probably 4 inch, and unless you’re jumping really small cars, you don’t even really need the metal transition, though it does still help. If you do get a transition, put some wood underneath the ramp for the screws to grab into more than just the plywood.
      Glad this video helps!!

      @DerbyCityRC  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks man!
      The one in the video should do about that. Have you seen this? I did it last year.
      It’s that bigger ramp I built in this video, but I lifted the launch end up about 5”. If you compare the cars height to me standing on my truck, it’s easily 20 ft, and I know it surpassed 75 ft long. It’s a 1/8 Kraton with all stock electronics. It’s only like a 1-1/2 minute video.
