Another Great Video! For a second I thought the Hay Bale was going to block the exit! but I now have visions of the beavers using it to build the next Dam!
Well, as a Dutchman and the Netherlands being well known for its rivers and the sea, I can tell you: Never underestimate the power of water. We are tought that from childhood.
people forget that one litre of water weighs 1 kg, so 100 liters weight ten times more, and for each rising meter it gets heavier and more pressure,

I saw the bale of hay sitting in the water in the opening shots. Those bales are extremely heavy!
And water-logged!
In America those round bales can weigh 400 to 1700 lb that one looks like a small bale so probably 400lb to 600lb.
I don't know if Mantas had a mentor on the art of beaver dam collapse--but if he did I bet he would be proud. He is very good at this.

That was great! The way that the water pressure gradually weakened the dam and then that massive rush of released water following was amazing. The wind wasn't too bad in the audio even listening through headphones. Loved the bale of hay which was trying to escape.

Hey Papa. 1:30 pm in Montreal and 18c, sunny but cool outside. Yes I think this one is a Class 7 rapid !! That's A LOT of water behind that dam. That bale of hay is gonna be a nice stopper for the water flow if it gets stuck. And it got stuck !!

When you stood in front of the dam and it was up to your shoulders, it looked very frightening, knowing all that water behind it !! Also a while ago somebody said about air bubbles the other side of the dam before it collapses, so i try to see, and this time sure enough just before the collapse, there were lots of air bubbbles. Anyway it was a lot of water !! Only seventeen degrees and cloudy in this part of uk, brrrrrrr. 😁😁🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Everytime you pause and look up st the dam, i know you're watchong for the early digns of volapse too. Never think that what you are doing is boring. It might be fun to “see a day in the life of Mantas”. Breakfast, prep, the drive (with commentary, of course), then maybe some sequence of the “boring” removals collapsing, saving the best as a full sequence with brush removal, raking, and under cutting.
