    Very nice Barry! I like tight (twisted) segmented bodies on my flies as I believe that it creates a more realistic silhouette than a fuzzy dubbed body. Cheers! Hank

      Check Rope-dubbing for dubbing with taper and varied segmentation, then tie this nice pattern using it.

    I bet a small dab of of uv resin on that wing case would be nice too?
    What a beautiful and fundamental pattern...it could easily have some material changes and do multiple jobs!
    Thanks very much...

    Another unique pattern! The fish here have zero idea what this is and it still works great, although I used rayon for the thorax. Thanks for the lesson as usual, tight lines!

      In Hobbs, New Mexico. Southern part of America with lots of dry heat and little to no water except for a single river/reservoir I fish. Found fly fishing a year ago through awesome videos like yours and began catching fish I could never catch without live bait. Other than damsel and dragonfly nymphs there isn’t much bug life in the water.

    Lovely and simple.
    Caddis flies are my favourite to fish with.
    I have a question if you dont mind... Have you tried adding some dubbing, hare's or squirrel's fur in the antron thread... split it and add just a touch of fur and spin it... gives an amazing efect.
    Cheers

    What is Antron and what can i substitute if I dont have Antron?

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Dana, Antron is a trilobal yarn that is available in many colours. It has many uses in fly tying. Its also very cheap and well worth having in a few key colours. Because its so widely available and cheap its not real worth substituting.

    So this is a bit off the subject, what thread do you use for size 16-24 hooks?

      Hi Gordon, sorry, I received your last comment about the book links via email but couldn't answer it for some reason! But all the links should be working now. Please let me know if you have any other problems.

    can this be done on smaller size hooks? I imagine, if so, you have to divide the yarn.

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gordon, yeah your right, split the yarn and your on smaller hooks.
