This is my personal favorite rendition of Gilgamesh’s theme. It gives him a vibe like a wandering samurai- which isn’t that far off, considering his habit of hopping around dimensions and his penchant for swordsmanship. It really took an iconic theme in a cool new direction, and did a dang fine job of it too!
Wandering samurai is more the vibe Gilgamesh wants to give off. However he is basically the final fantasy equivalent of Deadpool. The swordsman with a mouth. So I’m not quite sure it fits with the character. Theme is great all the same though.
The whole wandering (idiot) samurai schtick is why I think it would have been PERFECT to bring specifically *THIS* version of Battle on the Big Bridge back in FFXIV: Stormblood for the Kugane Ohashi trial, which does have you fighting Gilgamesh. For the third time in FFXIV.

Calm collected and knowledgeable. Gilgamesh on the other hand is a dimension hopping loud mouthed arrogant character that is still quite a powerful swords man but his idiocy holds him back as he ends up getting counterfeits of legendary weapons. That said one that doesn’t do one damage with excalibpur must be extremely powerful. A Gilgamesh theme must be over the top. That’s quite literally the one requirement to be a good rendition of the theme. Rock and orchestral variants have an advantage in this so those versions tend to be the best.

Yeah...his AI is SMART and aims to lock you down during his most vulnerable moments then just starts nigh endless onslaughts as he nears defeat to forcibly turn the tides. Gotta get that specially bred chichu to take him down FAST
@@Caribbean-Man and then he goes crazy mode and gains haste and starts using his limit break on you which attacks all 3 of you're characters at once. It's better if you're able to kill him in a stagger as he doesn't get into second phase if you do it quick enough tho it usually takes 2 to 3 staggers.
He'll keep rengenerate after each stagger. the key is you need to defeat him in 2 stagger. on the 1st stagger you have to keep his health to not go below 4.5 million otherwise he'll activate his glowing mode. and you need to finish him off on 2nd stagger

This one is my favorite just because it has such a different vibe and style compared to the others which are the original but updated. 12's is also a favorite because it's orchestrated and also feels very different.
Still can't believe how ff13 battle system is so underrated, is not perfect, but adding the 3 party members to be playable would be pretty close to perfect

The commando lightning is from completing Lightning DLC, the ravager lightning is from the Lightning and Amodar fight in the Coliseum. I think you can get Sazh from some side quest, I’m not sure.
This music is spot on. I love the interpretation, but seeing Gilgamesh holding guns in the first phase of the fight there makes me feel as dead inside as when that one FF game where Shiva turns into a motorcycle for some dumb reason. I mean, he's called the Greatest Swordsman... >.>
Before 15, it was the one that was constantly ragged on for bad characters and story pacing, and you could still make an argument that its story is worse. I've heard the gameplay is pretty alright, though

I think he was trying new weapons out but found them greatly to his disliking and useless because Close Combat is more his style
Don't worry, they made HIM feel unsatisfied too. So he switched them out for the tried-and-true swords. :p
