@@jpjp3873 Too late, it's happening. Either have to move even more remote to maintain that small town old culture. I'm still working, so I hate to have to add another 30 minutes to my already 30 min drive in. Especially since traffic is now getting ridiculous. Think it may be time to pack it up and leave the state for good.

It’s crazy how a state you loved could turn to trash right before your eyes. We tried voting our way out, tried recalling the governor and finally bailed when they tried to force the vax at my wife’s workplace. I made it to retirement and came to the outskirts of Clarksville. We’re here to reinforce the red state. I too fear certain people moving here and ruining my new home state. It’s growing pains here for sure with all the people moving in. I get why native residents hate us. Enjoy your new home and newly acquired freedom!

Welcome to Tennessee. I get the emotions of moving from the home your kids grew up in. I retired from my job of 32 years in Nashville 4 years ago and moved to Monterey, just up the road from you after being in our previous home 20 years. Our move was much shorter, from Mt Juliet. My sons went to the same schools I went to and in some cases had the same teachers.

We left California in July, 2019 from Murrieta after almost 50 years, raised in Huntington Beach. We just couldn't do it anymore!!! I was working in OC and taking the train, 2.5 hours one way to work. One of our dogs died in my husbands arms at a New Mexico rest stop. We initially moved to KoKo Reef Lake in Mississippi, we were going to move to Memphis... Yikes, the crime was off the charts!!!! So we got the lay of the land and ended up in Somerville, Tennessee. Bought a brand new house on just shy of an acre. I love it here. Initially, felt like we moved back in time, but we have adjusted.

My family went through the same process back in 2014. We moved to GA from CA. Born and raised in CA. Built a network and career there. Started over. The best decision we ever made was escaping that state. I always tell people that I "Escaped CA". When you leave there, you have an epiphany quickly that the move was the right decision. You realize you lived in a controlled state, and now in a FREE state. It is life changing.

Welcome to our beautiful state. We made a similar move back in 1990, moving from Palmdale in the Antelope Valley to Lewisburg, TN where we still live. My wife is a native of CA and I lived there from 12 years old until the move. We had no regrets leaving as it seemed then that so many unpleasant things were happening there. Our move was because of a job transfer for me working at the last GM plant in CA to the new Saturn Plant in Spring Hill, TN., where I worked at for 16 years before I retired in 2006 after a total of 36 years with GM/Saturn. Lewisburg is about an hour south of Nashville and is in our opinion a small city. We have two married daughters that live close to your area, in McMinnville. We did a similar move renting the largest truck we could find and taking everything that we could. I had a car trailer on the back of the rental truck and on it was my pickup with a shell and loaded to the brim. Our emotional event was eating breakfast at a McDonalds in Flagstaff, Arizona and watching the news reporting on the first car driven off the assembly line at the Saturn Plant in TN where my job was waiting for my arrival. We have been in TN since then, some 34 years ago and feel that it was God's Blessings to us moving here and have no regrets. May you all be blessed as you adjust to our slower and friendlier way of life.

Hi - born and raised in CA and moved from the Central Valley to Murfreesboro in March 2020 (literally left the day that Newsom said he was locking the state down and made the drive solo in 3 days, sleeping in my car at truck stops - my possessions were already in a moving truck and would arrive a few days after I did). Mind you, this was all planned back in December 2019, so just happened to fall at that time. My kids followed with their families about a year later, with my son, DIL and their kids living in Murfreesboro, and my daughter, SIL and their kids in Spring Hill. Azure, I am so happy that your daughters are in TN with you. My daughter lives on the other side of the world, so I know how hard it is to be separated from your kids, even adult kids. Now you just have to convince your son and daughter-in-law that TN would benefit from his skills when he completes his residency! I don't think I would choose to raise my children in CA at this point. I know this move will be a blessing for your family.

    It's cheaper than Texas/Florida.
I lived In Florida, Texas etc. for years. Tennesse is best weather (again, below ridge)
My BF fled Orlando then his parents followed from Orlando. Made $$$ selling there then buying here. Have TN riverfront property plus 100k in bank.
Look beyond home prices, which are phenomenal moving from a Blue areas. Look at utilities, registration of your car and property Tax. Yes we have sales tax on food but it will barely register if you are escaping a blue city/state.

Welcome to TN guys, hope you love it as much as we do. I'm from Cheatham Co. in a town called Ashland City. It is about 20-25 mins NW of Davidson Co. (Nashville). My husband is from Cairo, Egypt and he loves Tn! :) Also, Smithville, TN has a huge Jamboree every year on the first weekend of July around the 4th. They have tons of crafts and booths set up and bluegrass music and dance competitions on stage. Great place and great people! :)

thanks for your videos! are you guys working or retired? We are trying to leave California and go closer to family which would be Tennessee to split the difference of each side. Will you guys be starting new businesses or living on savings? After living in California for so long, you can see I have no concept of a more affordable life style. Thanks again!

Hope you enjoy TN. Other than military years, I have lived my entire life in NC and moved to coastal NC 10 years ago, don't know that I would want to move to a different state. It's such a shame with CA, such a nice state that the politicians are destroying! I feel bad for the CA residents that don't vote for the destruction, yet they want to move but financially can't leave.

Californian here in Tennessee as well. It’s beautiful here that’s for sure. I don’t miss California bcuz I came here from NY. I left California 14yrs ago and just came to Tennessee this year. Would love to know if you will be opening an office here in Middle Tennessee?

A buddy of mine had folks in Oxnard first trip we made i was 17 we made several trips to oxnard through the years he married a gal out there she ended up moving back here. Tennessee has always been my home except for six years in service an buildings ive built all across this country. This has always been home it's much different here than other places. People always say hello to strangers an wave at people just to be friendly some find it strange but it's actually comforting. Food is second to none i mean southern cooking is top notch. Weather kind of finicky if don't like it today just hang on tomorrow is a new day. We are just in middle of being north an south at same time that just a few miles can determine whether you need a jacket or not. Hope you like my state hope you adapt an blend in with the culture it's rooted deep an i find most here are ok with change but not so much if that makes any sense. Welcome

Love watching your journey. I am still living in Northern CA, but our home we are building in Crossville is almost done. We have lived all our lives in CA, so I know when my husband and I finally make the move, it is going to be very emotional. We will be giving our CA home to our son so that will ease the transition a little bit.

Moved from Utah to TN 3 years ago. The move was terrible for us.
Lots of breakdowns and ruined/ lost furniture from the moving company.
We really miss Utah and the beautiful mtns. Tennessee hasn’t improved the infrastructure for millennial, so much trash everywhere, the roads are insane huge holes everywhere.
I feel like I’m in a 3 rd world country living here. I wish we never had left Utah.
    No southern hospitality either.
If anything they are much ruder.
Everyone drinks and mows their lawns. Nothing to do here. Trying your best to make the best out of our life here now either no family around us. 😢
Tennessee isn’t beautiful to me, after living in Utah all my life. Utah is beautiful.
