Late reply but it's definitely not that many. Pretty sure the dog showed up before I even had 20k, but I still don't have 30k donated and the dog is still there at times.

I think the dog is the game's way of saying you suck. I died multiple times the first time at the start, and saw the dog. I was low health and petting it gets your health back. The second time around, I didn't die as much and puppy never showed up.

It also lets you teleport check point to checkpoint instead of portal to portal, which saves up lots of time

Wait excuse me and my slowness: so I need 20k tears to unlock teleports?
I haven't donated a single tear yet, thus I don't understand if I need 20k + an additional 7k (for the previously unlocked stuff) or if just 20k donated all at once would be enough

Funny how donations in church im this game works similar in real life.
But everyone else seem to miss it. Tears of atonement is basically blood from you enemies. How the hell are they able to buy stuff from that?
