in tears with my 5 year old. going to take him to a psychologist to get diagnosed but he has so many symptoms. and with a 1 year old always waiting my attention I have multiple breakdowns everyday
Totally understand I have a 5yr old grandson and he has all the signs and I'm not a well person I'm on heavy meds and it's a bit frustrating but I try my best after seeing this I'm gonna make all the necessary changes because I'm all he's got an I want him to be happy and educated and help himself
I’m married to someone diagnosed with ADD and I so wish he would have been taught coping skills rather than only being medicated. And he agrees! It so affects our marriage and is another hurdle to overcome.
This is so interesting! Even if you don't have ADHD, I can see these tricks help with attention for fidgety kids. Love this video--this was really enjoyable to watch! 💕💕
Thank you so much for this video. We are new to homeschooling and chose to homeschool for many reasons but my son having adhd was one of those reasons. He was struggling in public school and now he’s excelling at home. Thank you for all of the tips you are heaven sent!
Have you seen: Do schools kill creativity? | Sir Ken Robinson | TED (On TH-cam?) Gillian Lynne struggled in school because she could not sit still. The school sent her to the Doctor. The Doctor put some music on and talked to her mother. Gillian started to dance to the music. "There is nothing wrong with Gillian" the doctor said, "She is a DANCER!" Gillian Lynne ended up very rich. She worked on Cats and Phantom of the Opera. Our children are creative. ❤️😀❤️Not disabled. ❤️😀❤️
Hey I just wanted to let you know that this week I have been letting my son listen to music with headphones while he does his independent work and it’s like magic!!! Before we started doing this he would sing out loud while doing his work and it was very distracting to me and his sister. Now he works so quietly and it really does help him focus!!! Thank you!! I thought it would be a distraction listening to music but it really does help him focus!!
Thank you for this video! I struggle with slight adhd tendencies, it runs in my family, and I fear my son is struggling with the same issues. Even at 2¹/2, I see the signs! This video was a blessing! 🥰🤍
Very helpful video!! Lots of great ideas and a great reminder that it still takes a huge amount of parental involvement to help daughters and sons who have ADHD even when they are teens! I have a 15 year old with ADHD and high functioning autism and she still needs a huge amount of help with organization, focus and redirection. Sometimes it’s tiring after so many years so this video was a great encouragement to keep trying!!!
My husband has adhd and I’m pretty sure my son who’s almost 9 has it and we are struggling to get things done :( I will definitely start with a few of your tips!
I’m not a parent but a new piano teacher. I have one student with ADHD and this video was very helpful on good ideas on how to keep his attention during lessons. I don’t want to be overly strict with him but I do need him to respect me as a teacher and respect our lesson time.
Thank you very helpful. My 8 year old has Klinefelter Syndrome, and due to the syndrome he has adhd, spd, learning differences, anxiety and dyslexia. I really enjoy watching your videos.
@@themother4448 dont worry, we had also never heard of it before my son was diagnosed at 4 years old. 1 in 500 men have it, and most are diagnosed in adulthood when they are struggling to have children and find out they are infertile.
😩 I am so glad I found this video of yours. Just got the news that they think the kid I wanted to homeschool might have ADHD inattentive and this is such a relief. I was freaking out. Can I get a bullet point list of this?
30 min of quiet time would be torture for my son. He needs nearly continuous attention. It is a challenge, but I typically set the timer in 5 min increments throughout the day and ask him to choose an activity he is interested in to engage in independently.
3 or 4 minutes in I realized that I was trying to do something else while listening and was not focused on the content...which I obviously need to do...sigh... starting it over, hope that restarting doesn't mess with your algorithms...
Can I get a couple examples of what some long term goals look like? I was actually taking notes and I just need a couple ideas to get to sparks some long term goal ideas for my kids at home.
Hi Lelani! Oh my! Thanks so much for your wealth of knowledge and realness! You mentioned supplements and nutrition... there are so many options on the market. What have you found that helps your kiddos? I try to keep sugar to a minimum but this one is so hard!
Do you have any tips on being a mom with ADHD (inattentive here) homeschooling a kid with ADHD (inattentive and active) thanks :) I get so overwhelmed with everything mom life and homeschool
I give my daughter a lot of time and attention, but it feels like she needs a hug literally every minute and is constantly demanding attention and approval. It feels overwhelming. Can this be a part of ADHD? She does seem to have trouble focusing and staying on task. She is almost 6

I’m having the same problem, about to break down and go crazy. I’m sleepless and stressed to the max. I have a son as well. I hope you get sorted out.
All i can say is just love them❤❤❤

Very interesting and helpful video! Thanks for posting!
These are such good tips! Even just for kids that don’t have adhd but need help focusing.

That’s is important for us that work with kids to study to know how to guide them through their challenges!
Thank you for sharing Leilani! 👏🏽💕 So informative for sure!
I love your videos - they are so informative and to the point and helpful - thank you

What is Klinefelter syndrome?
@@themother4448 he was born with an extra x chromosome, so his body doesn't produce enough testosterone.

We have required Quiet Time every day for 30 minutes 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
my tween son loves washing the bathtub... I don't know where he gets it from, but I'm here for it!
Thank you for a good sharing. Like your videos.
Thank you so much for this video!
Where was your flashing lights??? I was waiting for it, Leilani 😉

We use Brainchild.
Spot on. Any hacks on how to make them behave when you visit people? Don't they just love to touch everything? Really enjoyed your video.
Let me think on it and do some research.
Can you link that clock/timer?! Great insight! Thank you
Here you go, it's an affiliate link: amzn.to/3E5HYnm

Silent time is Life!!!!
Very helpful video
Great ideas!!!
You are so funny! I love the cute comments!😂
Omg please do u have session or course for parents how to accomplish these things
I don’t but maybe one day.
Yes indeed... If you do all of this as parent so when your kid becomes an adult they can learn to be independent
God bless you and your family

Thank you for this video. Hang in there, caretakers.
This was so helpful!!!! Thankyou!!!!!

I tried the timer but he focuses on the time not the task that needs to be completed .... 😭
My son say work is unnecessary.
I have ADHD
Getting him to sit up is not possible 😢😭😭
