I use a similar technique as your first model, but instead of manually painting the hair mask, I select the model, shrink the selection by a couple pixels, invert the selection, then mask the selection. It usually works well and also deals with any fringing around non-hair regions. This method can also help to place the subject on the background because you’ll see a slight introduction of the background color into the edges of the non-hair objects.
It is amazing how a few simple keystrokes can save hours of time trying to mess with masking and edging... nice tutorial, learned a new method. Thanks.
looks great and easy! i always just use the brush in overlay layer style to try and remove these halos and it sort of works 50 percent of the time so i would love try this thank you
This tutorial was very good. Please if possible make a video to remove the white hair from the white background like foggy weather. Thanks.❤ このビデオは本当に必要です、もう一度ありがとう。❤
Could then then combine original and modified images somehow to get true alphachannel so that the hair would look correct against both dark and light backgrounds?
Can you make a tutorial for making a mask of hair spread over shoulder of model? This is the top most issue faced while creating mockup by me. Any help ! I do not find any vidoe of youtube for this case. Thanks...
Without seeing your settings and which layers / masks you have visible, etc, it's difficult to gauge the issue as I tried exporting and turning it into a smart object and the hair still looks good. Suggest double checking if all your layers are visible and make sure no masks are disabled. There'll be a big red cross across the mask if it's disabled and if that's the case, enable it again by pressing Shift and clicking on the mask. If the issue persists, try making it a stamp visible layer by (1) making all layers visible and enabling the mask, (2) make a stamp visible layer by pressing Cmd, Opt, Shift, E (if you're on a Mac) or Ctrl, Alt, Shift, E (if on a PC), and (3) make sure this newly created layer is at the top of the layer stack.
exactly this video I was needing back in 2 yrs, now another REQUEST, make a video about creating shadow of standing male or female for profile photo needing for marriage proposal, (photo is clicked on white or off-white cloth background & made full cut-out & change different background, but should match the shadow,) you can search this kind of photos on google, you will not find ... this is the Challenge. when photo click is done in the normal ordinary studio just like in small village, this shadow creating in photoshop is not available on TH-cam, yes even you can't find some kind of this video which I'm searching since 5-7yrs & now already SUBS. 😊
Fantastic! This is the easiest method I've seen that works...and works well. I appreciate this!

Thanks for sharing. Yes, there are many ways of achieving the same outcome and I sometimes use that method too.

Excellent Tutorial, Hair masking is one of the most tricky applications on PS, this Vid provides a excellent insight.
8:40 use dodge tool with highlight when you clarify blurred areas on mask. So you won't go wrong

👏👏👏
Any idea why this works on your dark hair model photo but when I try it with my own photo and change the blend mode, nothing happens?
This out-of-the-box issue is so annoying and it happens ALL the time. I wish they would improve the Select & Mask feature from where it is now.
oh my professor..
Are you a designer? can u pls reply?
❤❤
But one problem cannot export as png without the halos.
what about if the background is white
hair become bad again when I export the project or turn it into a smart opject , why?

It is very easy to do it with a background of a single color, why don't you do it with one that has a background with several objects?
Не правете такива уроци.Това е напълно погрешен начин за селекция и маска на коса във фотошоп.
I just wish this video existed without so much commentary....just get on with it....sorry, but you lost me with the talking and explaining...
Clearly not for you. Not sure who’s forcing you to watch this free video 😄
Ok I'll just unsubscribe in that case....@@hoitpham
I lost all my energy in first 5-6 minutes of preparation, grouping, re-naming and talking. I couldn't watch the real trick 😓
