Resident evil has never been serious. Even when it has tried to be serious it just comes off as goofy like in re7 and re8 I don’t even think capcom is self aware of this to be honest lol
The parrying of Salvador's chainsaw with the knife has people start talking about the possiblity of an all-out parrying showdown with Krauser in the island. Shit could be wild if that's the case.
The Salvadore redesign was actually the most striking thing to me, seeing how inhuman his face seemed under the sack, with the eyes clearly way apart, like you said, looking like his head partially exploded. It actually seems like they made him more tankier than he was originally too, like he might not be able to be blasted away as easily by a shotgun like he was in OG RE4. Sorta more like the Chainsaw Majini in 5 who barely staggered from a shotgun blast. Really intense.
The knife parry and block mechanics totally make me think that not only is the Krauser fight gonna be amazing with knife combat, but will also result in krauser's knife being the ultimate version and without breakage. Infinite krauser knife playthrough would be so damn sick. I haven't been this exicted for a game in years, let alone a remake of one of my favorite all time games.

It's also so much more consistent. RE2 to RE4 is admittedly jarring in terms of world building an execution when it comes to realism after the Raccoon City incident. This feels like the right way to do it. Leon still feels and acts like classic Leon.
In the first trailer he sounded like RE2R Leon. Now though? He sounds really different. I still need to get used to the change in his voice but man it's still great.
What I really love so far, is Leon's personality. He's showing the vulnerability that a survivor of something as horrible as Raccoon City would. This Leon looks like he's been through some shit, which would be a natural result of his experience. The wisecracking Leon was either really good at suppressing his feelings, or he was a psychopath
The wisecracking Leon has been through hell and came back victorious, then shortly after taken as a government slave and sent to deal with BOWs. You either break or become unbreakable. By the time of RE4 Leon was already used to killing mutants
One thing I noticed with the handgun is the +1 indicator, meaning you'll have one extra round in the chamber if you reload without emptying the entire mag.
The knife in Resident Evil 4 was the most useful a knife had ever been in a Resident Evil game. I'm surprisingly pleased they've made more uses for it in the remake.

I really hope Ashley has some sort of combat in the game like a self defence knife so she can get out of the grabs herself without you having to panic to rescue her, also her calling out environmental prompts for you to use or can heal you and herself too mid fights. Just something more for her to do within game instead of just standing there looking lost 24/7.
Take it with a grain of salt but some people smarter than me have said that isn’t too far off. Real life chainsaws are made to tear through wood, and tearing through metal is significantly harder than wood. Chainsaws as weapons kinda suck in real life.

The recent reveals for RE4 remake is such insane. It feels like a nice balance between old and new, as well as between action and horror. This is quite exciting.
It really feels like the best of both worlds, a blend of new and old. Despite how the past few years have been, its safe to say RE4R is one good reason to look forward to 2023.

At 10:46 a nice little feature you can see is that leon's handgun also has an extra +1 ammo in his gun which i think happens when leon reloads his gun before emptying the mag
I theorize that we'll actually be playing as Ashely for the beginning of the game as a tutorial level. I was hesitant at first, thinking its more than likely just an opening cutscene. But the camera angle panning downward only to have her on the left side makes me more confident about my claim. And if I'm correct, they'll probably use her gameplay to introduce us to the new stealth mechanic, along with inventory and healing before moving on to Leon's gun and parry mechanics.
Right, so she's probably trying to escape by her self, hiding (or get caught), and meet Leon in the process. Although i'm not really sure whether we are gonna play as Leon first or Ashley first (not that it matters) when the game starts. But yes, Ashley probably controllable on that scene. I hope so. As for why i am not sure, is because - what if they PoV-swap Leon with Ashley, as for who was approaching at this scene : 18:29. Is that Leon's PoV or Ashley's ? Perhaps we were playing as Ashley, then get surprised by Leon instead. This is not a prediction and seems unlikely, but i just think it would be cool if they actually swapped the PoV, so cut scenes can be a bit unpredictable, yet still using the same plot.
It would be really cool if we went directly into a tutorial level with Ashley trying to escape from a mysterious assailant right before getting kidnapped (aka Krauser), it would be a nice way to explain how it happened in the first place

No cutscenes, no introduction, no nothing, until she gets captured either by the ganados or a shadowy figure which would be krauser. Right after that we will get a "a few days ago" type flashback of her getting kidnapped and the president asking leon's help, which would then transition into leon's classic narration about umbrella's fall and raccoon city. Of course this is all speculation and how i hope it will happen, but this is my idea as to how it could work.

He then forces him to ride away into the sunset to Chris’s house.
I totally agree with Ada’s survival, this is the story that sees her become more cold and calculated working under Wesker. We already see this with her redesign looking more stealthy and spy-like rather than the charming and mystique she was originally. She actually looks like she’s been working under Wesker. Which portrays those themes of industrial espionage, and moral deceit she’s hiding. Which is right for the character, as she’s an undercover spy that has to act like she’s evil in order to fulfill her agenda and betray Wesker by end game. I think it’s only fair if we see Leon’s aftermath of Raccoon City, Capcom NEEDS to give us some answers on Ada, if not how she survived her fall and got her hookshot, at least some insight as to who she’s really working for and why it leads her to betray Wesker by the end. Like maybe some Trent files or a warm intro like Ethan or Jill’s where we see Ada receive her assignment like Leon gets a briefing. She intended to betray Wesker since the very beginning of this mission for the Organization, I want to know who she’s really been turning these strands over to. Because I still think Ada Wong is just a pseudonym, and since Raccoon City, I think Ada has only been using this red clad persona as an undercover spy. I thoroughly believe she’s just a double agent undercover to uncover bioweapons within high echelons of bioterrorism industry, using her false identity to get close, only to betray them by the end. I just detest how Ada is used for some of the most pivotal themes and archs but we NEVER get any real insight to the character’s motives, where she comes from, or who she’s really working for. Which serves the story, but never gives the character any real justice behind her motives. We know she’s playing a manipulative and dangerous game with Krauser, Wesker, and Saddler, but why? Who put her up to this master scheme? When did Ada begin to conspire against Wesker? How long has Ada been playing this game, since Raccoon, before? Ada’s story is imperative it’s fully told, as she narrates the industrial themes that are parallel to Leon’s story. Without her perspective, we don’t see Umbrella’s fallout, which leads these shadow organizations, vagrants, and terrorists all after one doomsday cult Umbrella could uncover. We know Saddler wants Ashley. Krauser wants full power like Wesker. Wesker wants the sample for doomsday. But why and what the hell did Ada want that Sample for? Who did it go to? Where would she keep the most highly sought after strain? Has it been up her ass all this time? I need answers so I can sleep at night.
You’re giving the story writers too much credit because even they don’t have the answers. The explanation’s way simpler than you’re anticipating. Female-led spy movies/shows made a brief comeback in the late 90s with La Femme Nikita, Entrapment, Alias, Dark Angel etc and Capcom ripped off that imagery and put it into their game franchise. Simples. The whole “mystery” surrounding her isn’t supposed to be uncovered because then she’d cease to be interesting. Wesker, Krauser, blah blah blah. I can’t take any of this stuff seriously and I’ve been playing these games inside and out since 1996
@@CursedWheelieBin I absolutely agree with the spy inclusivity at the time, La Femme Nikita, the original film, being Ada’s biggest inspiration behind her creation. But I don’t agree with her just being a mysterious throwaway character for the sake of it, that’s purely lazy writing. Rather we realize it, there is a secret organization or a higher agenda she’s been serving all this time. Look at Damnation in 2011, even though Wesker is dead, here’s Ada still recovering data on Los Plagas, who put her onto that if Wesker is dead? Is she just supposed to be all knowing and has information on every government even though she’s a rogue, or does she have some sort of knowledge or access to high value information? Ada is still absolutely an interesting and compelling history for her choice of morality, decision making, and cunning wit. You can absolutely give the character more background this time around without making her inevitably ambiguous, but still mysterious. I’m willing to bet, with Ada’s new voice actor being the actor from Welcome to Raccoon City, Lily Gao, Ada being the post credit scene, as well as confirmed for season two of the live action before its cancellation that Capcom intend to bring Ada’s story further into the mainstream.

Some of us enjoy the convoluted stories, and seeing who connects together the story, and what plays out, other’s like the gore, monsters, or gameplay. I thoroughly enjoy the red clad spy, and her mischievous antics, I think she offers more insight into the world than most characters have. As she’s been used carefully over the last 25 years, fans have a right to wanting to understand more about the character understandably.
@Exodus N That’s the issue, Leon talks about Umbrella’s downfall that sets the tone of bioterrorism as the main deterrent for RE4 and RE5 but we never see any hints or themes of Umbrella in his story. The cult is Leon’s story due to Ashley. The “fallout” is in Ada’s story. Wesker, the Organization, and Krauser who all want Los Plagas, what Umbrella could never obtain. Thus creating this power struggle, or a vacuum of power left in Umbrella’s wake for these organizations to exploit once the Sample has been discovered. The story is bottom line about creating a new deterrence, rather getting Ashley back to the White House without infection, or keeping Los Plagas off the black market, both our heroines, Leon and Ada are fighting to prevent a new form of biological war.

Simmons, National Security Advisor, who was the head of an criminal organization called "the Family". Simmons is one of the main villains in RE 6 and in that game it is revealed that Ada has been working for Simmons many times before
Just want to say thank you for the videos. Without this channel I never would've played any of the resident evil games. You are so passionate about the series and because of this I too have become a big fan of the games.
The castle is definitely the area that we instantly imagine how awesome it has the potential of being, especially with it being the high point in the original. I'm also excited for a few areas that weren't really all that interesting in the original, but have tons of potential and could end up being vastly improved. Novistadors in the dungeon, the mine cart, the tower climb to the Salazar fight, the krauser fight, the best boss battle in RE4, and the shipyard near the end of separate ways. Please do Ada well, separate ways was such a great addition. I spent as much time in Mercenaries as I did playing the main campaign, and I can't wait to see what changes were made. If they changed the locations used in Mercenaries I'd be totally fine with that, with one exception. The docks containing double chain saw behemoth absolutely has to remain in the game. Hearing the grunt and chainsaw being swung wildly coming at you full bore when all you have is handgun ammo and you are backed into a corner with 90 seconds left and a kill streak of 85 blinking in the corner is giving me anxiety even now.
A small, little detail at 2:29. As you can see in the map, it seems that the name of the village is Valdelobos. Valde- is a common prefix used in the name of many different Spanish villages and towns, it means "Valle" (Valley), and -lobos means wolves = Valley of Wolves.
One thing I noticed is the Genado that attacks Leon after breaking down the door is the same exact animation with the same weapon as the Genado in the original by the fireplace. The main difference is instead of Leon rolling into drawing his firearm, Leon this time rolls and jumps out the window with the same flip he does in the original. Could be a stretch but I just recently played RE4 and that animation caught my eye. Cant wait for this game!
I just hope the game keeps a bit of its original campy charm. It’s fine to crank up the horror because it had plenty of spots that did that well but I don’t want it to be at the price of losing lines like “Your right hand comes off?”.

Leon's Silver Ghost Handgun also now has a compensator on it. its great to see the knife has more utility use in this game than in the original and leon can follow up a knife parry with a melee attack allowing him to do a forward roundhouse and a reverse roundhouse as well. hopefully he can still do that amazing reverse spin kick on enemies who are on their knees. i know it wont be a thing but id love to see the Ditman glitch return :)
I was actually thinking about this as Suzi mentioned the Striker and had a really cool idea: Capcom have been referencing a lot of memes and popular things the community has curated in their most recent games through achievement titles, dialogue, or just straight up references, and the Dittman Glitch could be a genius one to implement in the game, just not as a glitch. My concept, is, guns have their exclusive upgrades still hopefully, and if they do, the Striker could have its exclusive upgrade have the unique attribute of increasing Leon's movement speed when he's holding the gun, as well as giving it a "quickdraw" buff and swapping to another weapon or swapping back to the striker will also be faster. Finally, the fire rate would get a sizeable buff too. It's not THE Dittman Glitch, but rather, a clever reference to it, whilst giving it a unique gameplay function. Honestly, I'd love to see them give EVERY gun a creative Exclusive upgrade this time, not just give them some boring "big damage" style buffs. If the gun gets increased damage, it should get an extra quirk too. Like, make the Red9 slightly weaker for its exclusive, with the trade-off of being able to pierce enemies like the Punisher. The semi-auto rifle can still get its fire rate buff, but they could do other minor things too, like reducing the weapon sway, and perhaps putting up the critical hit chance, rather than making it a guaranteed head explosion. The TMP could gain tighter spread too and increased strafe speed whilst aiming, to feel more tactical and the list goes on. Heck, if they add The Mercenaries back? Character variants of weapons can be unique. Give HUNK's TMP unique functionality that makes it objectively superior to the normal one in game, and make Ada's Punisher hit harder, or have a critical hit modifier etc etc.
Suzi, you are correct in regards to the first ganado. Andy from outsidexbox had his mitts on a demo version and the ganado gets kicked into a wall and his head snaps like that. Unless I'm misremembering. Point is that is indeed the 2nd meeting.

I really like Ada's new voice, it really shows how older and mature they are instead of the same young voice from re2 , and seeing Ashley parasite getting stronger along with leon's would be a good reminder to us how serious this infection really is. Plus this could be trailer magic but I'm hoping that Leon have some type of confrontation with Ashley as she fighting back the parasite giving the player that ominous feel that we may take her out if need be I think it be a good new feel for new players who never touched re4 in their life and a interesting story plot for us veterans
The original re 4 was monumental in how it redefined how third person shooting should be along with a tight sense of pacing in the story but that game still had many issues such as the island section for example. I just hope they redo some of the things to make those sections not as big of a slog as last time.
I'm genuinely so excited for this game. Original RE4 was never quite my cup of tea, but the new more horror-focused approach, and this gameplay, have elevated my hype beyond what I expected. Also, the fact that it will be coming to PS4 and I will be able to play it is so cool!! Gosh, I always love Resident Evil hype, it's a unique awesome feeling

I'm kind of thrilled to see if the leaks are true about Salvador mutating to look like the super Salvador from the mercenaries. his attack animation reminds me of it to a tee.
Perhaps during nightfall, in Chapter 2, any Dr. Salvador you encounter could have this happen to them. That'd be really cool, and terrifying, especially in low light visibility with the fog and everything.
The reason I'm looking forward to stealth is the implications it has for if separate ways gets included, like now you can be the ultimate spy in the background!
I think I've put my finger on why I watch your videos. I'm not a huge fan of the RE series, but you really are. That level of enthusiasm is difficult to find from anyone for anything. The fact that your voice is so silky helps, especially when you're excited, and you are very easy on the eyes when you choose to treat us with a clip of yourself, but the fact that you love this series so much is what I come for. Don't lose that in future videos. Keep the personality in the videos and keep the joy for the series.
Been getting really into the resident evil series (looking to to the story and characters and all) ever since I’ve seen people play the seventh one and the remakes and have got and beaten RE2 remake and am hype for RE4 remake. Love your vids, glad RE series made me find this channel. ❤
I'm calling it now. The new knife / parry mechanics + the stealth mechanics is going to turn the Krauser fight at the ruins into the most intense game of cat & mouse.
Right now the only worry I have is that I hope that every weapon is great to use due to the special upgrades, unlike in RE8, in which every new weapon you find is a direct upgrade to the previous one, the Silver Ghost is my favorite RE4 handgun and I want it to use it throughout the entire game without feeling like I'm gimping myself.
I am so excited for this game, as someone who played the original RE4 and struggled mightily because of the mechanics I am so thankful to the game makers for these remakes and the modern mechanics that go into them. Leon looks more gorgeous in this game than he did in resident evil 2 remake and I am beyond happy that Nick is back to voice him. To say that I am crazy excited for this game would be a complete understatement...... But I am crazy excited .
A few things I hope to see in RE4 remake are some believable backstories and motives for the characters, some character development for Ashley, real disturbing body horror as a result of the plagas, more cult horror, and a possible conversation between Leon and Ashley about Raccoon City.
24:50 I've heard people say this before and I originally thought the same thing, but upon closer inspection I think that this is actually the scene after the Del Lago fight when Leon wakes up after passing out. There is also blood on the ground, which could be from him coughing it up.
@@TheShadow_Wolves Exactly! The breakable boxes and also the fact that Leon is laying on a wooden floor (the scene where Saddler takes Ashley has a stone floor) leads me to believe it's the scene after the Del Lago fight. I think it just makes more sense.
@@TheShadow_Wolves I’m not as sure about the others, but I do have some predictions on what some of the scenes are and where they might take place. Some are obvious, such as the clip in the trailer with Leon and Luis standing in a room with a dead Ganado (though it’s interesting to me that Leon still has his jacket in this clip, despite not having it at this point in the original. I believe he might get to keep his jacket for a little longer in the remake and will also lose it a different way). The clip where Leon runs into Chief Mendez looks like it could take place in a basement or cellar, so I personally think Leon will encounter him while going through one of the village houses. Since Leon also has his jacket in this clip, and there isn’t really a scene in the original that matches this one in particular, I believe their encounter in the remake is going to be almost completely new. It could possibly happen earlier in the story as well. I do believe that the scene showing Saddler and the new “jester” enemy will be the scene where he takes Ashley, but like I said, I don’t think the following scene with Leon is a part of it. It only appears that way because the scenes are back to back. That’s all I can think of as of right now! I’ve had a lot of time to analyze the trailers, so I’m eager to finally discuss it with someone. How about you? Do you have any predictions yourself based off of the trailer?

This reveal of RE4R and the game play really made me so excited for this remake. Everything feels familiar yet new at the same time. I also noticed that in the menu @ 9:30 in the bottom right you see case and charm perks that increase the drop of handgun ammo. Wonder if there will be other perks you can earn thru the game thru charms and changing your case or if it will be just a pre-order bonus thing?
8:54 Maybe it'll be a situation where the weapons you have in your quick select won't take up space in your inventory allowing you to carry more weapons and swap between them.

I'm still struggling with Ramon Salazar's new design. On the one hand, he hardly looks like the original design, but on the other, he actually looks creepier. He looks like my grandma, sure, but there's no doubt that this new design has written creepy all over it. I will miss the original design, but i will learn to love the new one eventually.

Love the Ada Leon dynamic. They definitely need to get a room. Ada's escape from Racoon was played out in one of the light gun games. Anyone else notice than one of the Boss types in 24 season 3 was one Ramon Salazar...
A lot of fans know Ada’s Escape in Umbrella Chronicles, but newer fans aren’t familiar with that history, and it’s also outdated. Thus why we’re asking for more perspective on that night. No, not a short playable segment, but at least an introduction or opening scenario where Ada narrates how she got from there to working directly under Wesker. RE2R never delves into how Ada survives her fall, how she gets her hookshot inbetween 2 and 4, or who her employer was in 1998. If we can get Leon’s perspective and his narrative on the past 6 years of bioterrorism and Umbrella’s fallout, Ada can give more explanation as to what she’s really up to instead of just detailing her current mission like she does in the original.

That’s why I adore Ada, because she brings espionage elements to a horror-noire story. I'm stoked about using the Bolt Thrower, especially since they based it off of the real life Steambow AR-6 Stinger. I hope you can upgrade it so it transforms to be more like the Stinger 2 which has a built in stock as the cocking handle and allows the ability to use 5 bolt speed loaders. (The built in internal magazine can hold 6.) Not to mention the possibility of using both broadhead and bodkin bolts, the latter capable of piercing bone easier and the former for easier flesh penetration.
Cant overstate how hyped I am for this game. I had the gamecube bundle with the gray labeled console, and now its like being back in 2005, getting hyped over clips of Salvatore and the village level prior to release
This looks really great! I know, I am going to be playing the absolute crap out of this game! Multiple play throughs are to be expected! All the different things you can do! And how smart the Ganados are going to be. I can't wait! All I can hope for, is that any upgrades you get on your weapons. Will be present on your actual weapon, and if you holster or sling a weapon. It will appear on your person. I can't wait to play this!
One of my favorite things about re4 is the gun reloads they are satisfying and crunchy. It is honestly a delight every time I reload, in recent years I feel survival horror and similar genre devs haven’t really payed attention to this too much and it honestly takes away the feel of these weapons, making them feel more like toys. I really hope the remake can give the same feel for weapons like in the original.
That "bill me for the repairs" was 100% included in this teaser to put fans at ease and show that he will still have a personality more than just serious.

The Salvadore redesign was actually the most striking thing to me, seeing how inhuman his face seemed under the sack, with the eyes clearly way apart, like you said, looking like his head partially exploded. It actually seems like they made him more tankier than he was originally too, like he might not be able to be blasted away as easily by a shotgun like he was in OG RE4.

It's also so much more consistent. RE2 to RE4 is admittedly jarring in terms of world building an execution when it comes to realism after the Raccoon City incident. This feels like the right way to do it. Leon still feels and acts like classic Leon.

I theorize that we'll actually be playing as Ashely for the beginning of the game as a tutorial level. I was hesitant at first, thinking its more than likely just an opening cutscene. But the camera angle panning downward only to have her on the left side makes me more confident about my claim. And if I'm correct, they'll probably use her gameplay to introduce us to the new stealth mechanic, along with inventory and healing before moving on to Leon's gun and parry mechanics.
Right, so she's probably trying to escape by her self, hiding (or get caught), and meet Leon in the process.
Although i'm not really sure whether we are gonna play as Leon first or Ashley first (not that it matters) when the game starts. But yes, Ashley probably controllable on that scene. I hope so.
As for why i am not sure, is because - what if they PoV-swap Leon with Ashley, as for who was approaching at this scene : 18:29. Is that Leon's PoV or Ashley's ? Perhaps we were playing as Ashley, then get surprised by Leon instead.
This is not a prediction and seems unlikely, but i just think it would be cool if they actually swapped the PoV, so cut scenes can be a bit unpredictable, yet still using the same plot.
It would be really cool if we went directly into a tutorial level with Ashley trying to escape from a mysterious assailant right before getting kidnapped (aka Krauser), it would be a nice way to explain how it happened in the first place

No cutscenes, no introduction, no nothing, until she gets captured either by the ganados or a shadowy figure which would be krauser. Right after that we will get a "a few days ago" type flashback of her getting kidnapped and the president asking leon's help, which would then transition into leon's classic narration about umbrella's fall and raccoon city.
Of course this is all speculation and how i hope it will happen, but this is my idea as to how it could work.

I totally agree with Ada’s survival, this is the story that sees her become more cold and calculated working under Wesker. We already see this with her redesign looking more stealthy and spy-like rather than the charming and mystique she was originally.
She actually looks like she’s been working under Wesker. Which portrays those themes of industrial espionage, and moral deceit she’s hiding. Which is right for the character, as she’s an undercover spy that has to act like she’s evil in order to fulfill her agenda and betray Wesker by end game.
I think it’s only fair if we see Leon’s aftermath of Raccoon City, Capcom NEEDS to give us some answers on Ada, if not how she survived her fall and got her hookshot, at least some insight as to who she’s really working for and why it leads her to betray Wesker by the end.
Like maybe some Trent files or a warm intro like Ethan or Jill’s where we see Ada receive her assignment like Leon gets a briefing.
She intended to betray Wesker since the very beginning of this mission for the Organization, I want to know who she’s really been turning these strands over to.
Because I still think Ada Wong is just a pseudonym, and since Raccoon City, I think Ada has only been using this red clad persona as an undercover spy.
I thoroughly believe she’s just a double agent undercover to uncover bioweapons within high echelons of bioterrorism industry, using her false identity to get close, only to betray them by the end.
I just detest how Ada is used for some of the most pivotal themes and archs but we NEVER get any real insight to the character’s motives, where she comes from, or who she’s really working for. Which serves the story, but never gives the character any real justice behind her motives.
We know she’s playing a manipulative and dangerous game with Krauser, Wesker, and Saddler, but why?
Who put her up to this master scheme?
When did Ada begin to conspire against Wesker?
How long has Ada been playing this game, since Raccoon, before?
Ada’s story is imperative it’s fully told, as she narrates the industrial themes that are parallel to Leon’s story. Without her perspective, we don’t see Umbrella’s fallout, which leads these shadow organizations, vagrants, and terrorists all after one doomsday cult Umbrella could uncover.
We know Saddler wants Ashley.
Krauser wants full power like Wesker.
Wesker wants the sample for doomsday.
But why and what the hell did Ada want that Sample for? Who did it go to? Where would she keep the most highly sought after strain?
Has it been up her ass all this time?
I need answers so I can sleep at night.

Look at Damnation in 2011, even though Wesker is dead, here’s Ada still recovering data on Los Plagas, who put her onto that if Wesker is dead?
Is she just supposed to be all knowing and has information on every government even though she’s a rogue, or does she have some sort of knowledge or access to high value information?
Ada is still absolutely an interesting and compelling history for her choice of morality, decision making, and cunning wit. You can absolutely give the character more background this time around without making her inevitably ambiguous, but still mysterious.
I’m willing to bet, with Ada’s new voice actor being the actor from Welcome to Raccoon City, Lily Gao, Ada being the post credit scene, as well as confirmed for season two of the live action before its cancellation that Capcom intend to bring Ada’s story further into the mainstream.

I thoroughly enjoy the red clad spy, and her mischievous antics, I think she offers more insight into the world than most characters have. As she’s been used carefully over the last 25 years, fans have a right to wanting to understand more about the character understandably.
@Exodus N That’s the issue, Leon talks about Umbrella’s downfall that sets the tone of bioterrorism as the main deterrent for RE4 and RE5 but we never see any hints or themes of Umbrella in his story.
The cult is Leon’s story due to Ashley. The “fallout” is in Ada’s story. Wesker, the Organization, and Krauser who all want Los Plagas, what Umbrella could never obtain. Thus creating this power struggle, or a vacuum of power left in Umbrella’s wake for these organizations to exploit once the Sample has been discovered.
The story is bottom line about creating a new deterrence, rather getting Ashley back to the White House without infection, or keeping Los Plagas off the black market, both our heroines, Leon and Ada are fighting to prevent a new form of biological war.

Simmons, National Security Advisor, who was the head of an criminal organization called "the Family". Simmons is one of the main villains in RE 6 and in that game it is revealed that Ada has been working for Simmons many times before

I’m excited for the castle section even more especially how insanely good the village already looks and there is obviously so much more to see
The castle is definitely the area that we instantly imagine how awesome it has the potential of being, especially with it being the high point in the original. I'm also excited for a few areas that weren't really all that interesting in the original, but have tons of potential and could end up being vastly improved. Novistadors in the dungeon, the mine cart, the tower climb to the Salazar fight, the krauser fight, the best boss battle in RE4, and the shipyard near the end of separate ways. Please do Ada well, separate ways was such a great addition. I spent as much time in Mercenaries as I did playing the main campaign, and I can't wait to see what changes were made. If they changed the locations used in Mercenaries I'd be totally fine with that, with one exception. The docks containing double chain saw behemoth absolutely has to remain in the game. Hearing the grunt and chainsaw being swung wildly coming at you full bore when all you have is handgun ammo and you are backed into a corner with 90 seconds left and a kill streak of 85 blinking in the corner is giving me anxiety even now.

A small, little detail at 2:29. As you can see in the map, it seems that the name of the village is Valdelobos. Valde- is a common prefix used in the name of many different Spanish villages and towns, it means "Valle" (Valley), and -lobos means wolves = Valley of Wolves.

Came here to say that the "punisher" is definitely an FN five-seven in that sweet-sweet tactical peanut butter (or flat dark earth) color scheme.
One thing I noticed is the Genado that attacks Leon after breaking down the door is the same exact animation with the same weapon as the Genado in the original by the fireplace. The main difference is instead of Leon rolling into drawing his firearm, Leon this time rolls and jumps out the window with the same flip he does in the original. Could be a stretch but I just recently played RE4 and that animation caught my eye. Cant wait for this game!
I just hope the game keeps a bit of its original campy charm. It’s fine to crank up the horror because it had plenty of spots that did that well but I don’t want it to be at the price of losing lines like “Your right hand comes off?”.

Leon's Silver Ghost Handgun also now has a compensator on it. its great to see the knife has more utility use in this game than in the original and leon can follow up a knife parry with a melee attack allowing him to do a forward roundhouse and a reverse roundhouse as well. hopefully he can still do that amazing reverse spin kick on enemies who are on their knees. i know it wont be a thing but id love to see the Ditman glitch return :)
I was actually thinking about this as Suzi mentioned the Striker and had a really cool idea:
Capcom have been referencing a lot of memes and popular things the community has curated in their most recent games through achievement titles, dialogue, or just straight up references, and the Dittman Glitch could be a genius one to implement in the game, just not as a glitch.
My concept, is, guns have their exclusive upgrades still hopefully, and if they do, the Striker could have its exclusive upgrade have the unique attribute of increasing Leon's movement speed when he's holding the gun, as well as giving it a "quickdraw" buff and swapping to another weapon or swapping back to the striker will also be faster. Finally, the fire rate would get a sizeable buff too.
It's not THE Dittman Glitch, but rather, a clever reference to it, whilst giving it a unique gameplay function.
Honestly, I'd love to see them give EVERY gun a creative Exclusive upgrade this time, not just give them some boring "big damage" style buffs. If the gun gets increased damage, it should get an extra quirk too. Like, make the Red9 slightly weaker for its exclusive, with the trade-off of being able to pierce enemies like the Punisher. The semi-auto rifle can still get its fire rate buff, but they could do other minor things too, like reducing the weapon sway, and perhaps putting up the critical hit chance, rather than making it a guaranteed head explosion.
The TMP could gain tighter spread too and increased strafe speed whilst aiming, to feel more tactical and the list goes on.
Heck, if they add The Mercenaries back? Character variants of weapons can be unique. Give HUNK's TMP unique functionality that makes it objectively superior to the normal one in game, and make Ada's Punisher hit harder, or have a critical hit modifier etc etc.
Suzi, you are correct in regards to the first ganado. Andy from outsidexbox had his mitts on a demo version and the ganado gets kicked into a wall and his head snaps like that. Unless I'm misremembering. Point is that is indeed the 2nd meeting.

Everytime I watch something related to this game I become more and more excited. But I just want to say that the kick Leon did to the lady ganado was a spinning hook kick,not a roundhouse 😅

salvador redesign is so good i use contacts and im super sensitive about eyestuff so seeing his eyes like that physically hurts me in a good horror way

I really like Ada's new voice, it really shows how older and mature they are instead of the same young voice from re2 , and seeing Ashley parasite getting stronger along with leon's would be a good reminder to us how serious this infection really is. Plus this could be trailer magic but I'm hoping that Leon have some type of confrontation with Ashley as she fighting back the parasite giving the player that ominous feel that we may take her out if need be I think it be a good new feel for new players who never touched re4 in their life and a interesting story plot for us veterans

The original re 4 was monumental in how it redefined how third person shooting should be along with a tight sense of pacing in the story but that game still had many issues such as the island section for example.
I just hope they redo some of the things to make those sections not as big of a slog as last time.
That moment where I hear "RE4 Re," and immediately think it as, "Referee." 😆
I'm genuinely so excited for this game. Original RE4 was never quite my cup of tea, but the new more horror-focused approach, and this gameplay, have elevated my hype beyond what I expected. Also, the fact that it will be coming to PS4 and I will be able to play it is so cool!! Gosh, I always love Resident Evil hype, it's a unique awesome feeling

I'm kind of thrilled to see if the leaks are true about Salvador mutating to look like the super Salvador from the mercenaries. his attack animation reminds me of it to a tee.
Perhaps during nightfall, in Chapter 2, any Dr. Salvador you encounter could have this happen to them. That'd be really cool, and terrifying, especially in low light visibility with the fog and everything.
The reason I'm looking forward to stealth is the implications it has for if separate ways gets included, like now you can be the ultimate spy in the background!

I think I've put my finger on why I watch your videos. I'm not a huge fan of the RE series, but you really are. That level of enthusiasm is difficult to find from anyone for anything. The fact that your voice is so silky helps, especially when you're excited, and you are very easy on the eyes when you choose to treat us with a clip of yourself, but the fact that you love this series so much is what I come for. Don't lose that in future videos. Keep the personality in the videos and keep the joy for the series.
Been getting really into the resident evil series (looking to to the story and characters and all) ever since I’ve seen people play the seventh one and the remakes and have got and beaten RE2 remake and am hype for RE4 remake. Love your vids, glad RE series made me find this channel. ❤

I'm calling it now. The new knife / parry mechanics + the stealth mechanics is going to turn the Krauser fight at the ruins into the most intense game of cat & mouse.
Right now the only worry I have is that I hope that every weapon is great to use due to the special upgrades, unlike in RE8, in which every new weapon you find is a direct upgrade to the previous one, the Silver Ghost is my favorite RE4 handgun and I want it to use it throughout the entire game without feeling like I'm gimping myself.
re 4 org was like that so the remake should be the same based on how faithful it is by these trailers

I am so excited for this game, as someone who played the original RE4 and struggled mightily because of the mechanics I am so thankful to the game makers for these remakes and the modern mechanics that go into them. Leon looks more gorgeous in this game than he did in resident evil 2 remake and I am beyond happy that Nick is back to voice him. To say that I am crazy excited for this game would be a complete understatement...... But I am crazy excited .
A few things I hope to see in RE4 remake are some believable backstories and motives for the characters, some character development for Ashley, real disturbing body horror as a result of the plagas, more cult horror, and a possible conversation between Leon and Ashley about Raccoon City.

24:50 I've heard people say this before and I originally thought the same thing, but upon closer inspection I think that this is actually the scene after the Del Lago fight when Leon wakes up after passing out. There is also blood on the ground, which could be from him coughing it up.
I think you’re right. There’s also two breakable boxes behind him. In the original there were two barrels in that same location.
@@TheShadow_Wolves Exactly! The breakable boxes and also the fact that Leon is laying on a wooden floor (the scene where Saddler takes Ashley has a stone floor) leads me to believe it's the scene after the Del Lago fight. I think it just makes more sense.

@@TheShadow_Wolves I’m not as sure about the others, but I do have some predictions on what some of the scenes are and where they might take place. Some are obvious, such as the clip in the trailer with Leon and Luis standing in a room with a dead Ganado (though it’s interesting to me that Leon still has his jacket in this clip, despite not having it at this point in the original. I believe he might get to keep his jacket for a little longer in the remake and will also lose it a different way). The clip where Leon runs into Chief Mendez looks like it could take place in a basement or cellar, so I personally think Leon will encounter him while going through one of the village houses. Since Leon also has his jacket in this clip, and there isn’t really a scene in the original that matches this one in particular, I believe their encounter in the remake is going to be almost completely new. It could possibly happen earlier in the story as well. I do believe that the scene showing Saddler and the new “jester” enemy will be the scene where he takes Ashley, but like I said, I don’t think the following scene with Leon is a part of it. It only appears that way because the scenes are back to back.

This reveal of RE4R and the game play really made me so excited for this remake. Everything feels familiar yet new at the same time. I also noticed that in the menu @ 9:30 in the bottom right you see case and charm perks that increase the drop of handgun ammo. Wonder if there will be other perks you can earn thru the game thru charms and changing your case or if it will be just a pre-order bonus thing?
8:54 Maybe it'll be a situation where the weapons you have in your quick select won't take up space in your inventory allowing you to carry more weapons and swap between them.

The RE Engine really is beautiful. Never seen a franchise revive itself the way RE has.
I'm still struggling with Ramon Salazar's new design. On the one hand, he hardly looks like the original design, but on the other, he actually looks creepier. He looks like my grandma, sure, but there's no doubt that this new design has written creepy all over it. I will miss the original design, but i will learn to love the new one eventually.
I see your point. In the original, he felt more mysterious and sinister. But in the remake, he actually looks like a deranged monster. Personally I’m super hyped for the new design, but I can understand the appeal to the og as well

Love the Ada Leon dynamic. They definitely need to get a room. Ada's escape from Racoon was played out in one of the light gun games.
Anyone else notice than one of the Boss types in 24 season 3 was one Ramon Salazar...
A lot of fans know Ada’s Escape in Umbrella Chronicles, but newer fans aren’t familiar with that history, and it’s also outdated.
Thus why we’re asking for more perspective on that night. No, not a short playable segment, but at least an introduction or opening scenario where Ada narrates how she got from there to working directly under Wesker.
RE2R never delves into how Ada survives her fall, how she gets her hookshot inbetween 2 and 4, or who her employer was in 1998.
If we can get Leon’s perspective and his narrative on the past 6 years of bioterrorism and Umbrella’s fallout, Ada can give more explanation as to what she’s really up to instead of just detailing her current mission like she does in the original.

@@loudtaste1046 If you plan on using the Oculus for both PC games and in-headset games I'd say it's worth it to buy it. I love being able to play games on Steam but also being able to just throw on the headset and go.

I'm stoked about using the Bolt Thrower, especially since they based it off of the real life Steambow AR-6 Stinger.
I hope you can upgrade it so it transforms to be more like the Stinger 2 which has a built in stock as the cocking handle and allows the ability to use 5 bolt speed loaders.
(The built in internal magazine can hold 6.)
Not to mention the possibility of using both broadhead and bodkin bolts, the latter capable of piercing bone easier and the former for easier flesh penetration.

Cant overstate how hyped I am for this game. I had the gamecube bundle with the gray labeled console, and now its like being back in 2005, getting hyped over clips of Salvatore and the village level prior to release

This looks really great! I know, I am going to be playing the absolute crap out of this game! Multiple play throughs are to be expected! All the different things you can do! And how smart the Ganados are going to be. I can't wait! All I can hope for, is that any upgrades you get on your weapons. Will be present on your actual weapon, and if you holster or sling a weapon. It will appear on your person. I can't wait to play this!

One of my favorite things about re4 is the gun reloads they are satisfying and crunchy. It is honestly a delight every time I reload, in recent years I feel survival horror and similar genre devs haven’t really payed attention to this too much and it honestly takes away the feel of these weapons, making them feel more like toys. I really hope the remake can give the same feel for weapons like in the original.
