    When Cathi Bedy said the case was 'complex' because 'typically patients don't have private attorneys', that means, normally, people are too poor to fight us back.

    As a retired case manager working on behalf of Vulverable People, I feel appalled at this woman's total lack of compassion, competence and needed experience in relation to the needs of Maya and her family. What is evident is her deluded behaviour due to her own sense of self entitlement to rule over other people's lives. Makes me cry.

    Cathi Bedy is an example why kids and adults alike are apprehensive to go to or trust a counselor or therapist. She changed this family’s life and caused emotional trauma by seemingly making medical decisions based off her own personal bias.

      Im sorry unfortunately this hospital would rather spend a trillion $ putting the blame on the family then to ever admit that they made any mistakes. No accountabilitys whatsoever. = No changes this happens more than anyone could ever imagine. God bless all those involved directly or indirectly doesn't matter because they are all guilty and certainly no the difference between right and wrong. They will get Justice at the end of it all when all is said and done were all going to answer to God someday an no one is going to get away with anything. God is not going to care about all the excuses anyone tries to conjure up. This could have been avoided by a simple supervised visitation the hospital doctors dcf all failed miserably this family. Yes its that simple. Supervised visitations why wasn't she allowed to see Maya ? It's called Is patient profiling the end. God bless.

    Today we learned the hospital’s 4th or 5th story for not transferring Maya, and that they took such great care of her that she fell out of her wheelchair and laid on the floor for hours until someone found her.

    • @ce4812
      @ce4812 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I’m not sure, but it was during Bedy’s testimony. She said the lawyer wasn’t allowed to meet in private with Maya because risk management at the hospital said the door had to remain open with view on her at all times because she previously fell out of her wheelchair and remained on the floor for hours before she was found.

      @ce4812 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@spalanki352Bedy said it twice. First she said there was ‘an episode’ where Maya fell out of bed and was on the floor for hours. Then came the hypotheticals regarding if the theory was that the attorney wouldn’t help her. Then, Bedy said all she knew is that after ‘the incident’ risk management had ordered for her door to be kept open at all times so the nurses could see her at all times. My impression was that ‘the incident’ of Maya falling on the floor happened, but ‘the episode’ of Maya telling someone about it was the issue. First she says an episode where Maya said she fell on the floor and was there for hours led to the order, then she says the incident of her falling on the floor led to the order.

    If I was on the jury, I would find for the plaintiffs partly because of Miss Bede, the social worker. Miss Bede came across as inappropriate and unprofessional. Miss Bede,might cost the hospital a lot of money. Why would Miss Bede feel the need to come in on her day off to monitor Maya's phone calls? It just seems weird and creepy. The lead attorney for the plaintiff seems disorganized at times, but likeable and caring toward his clients. The hospital attorneys seem slick, cold, and uncaring about what this little girl was subject to in their institution. I think the judge has been more equitable in his rulings recently. Initially, the judge seemed to strictly favor John Hopkins Hospital attorneys.

Even if they did attempt to delegate any of the courts directives, the Hospital knows, or should have known better, and trained their staff as such. Not sure why this judge doesn't understand this. I think that Maya's attorney got the jury's attention based on their questions. That has been my favorite feature of this trial, the jury input. This is a smart jury. From the questions, there is someone with legal or LE knowledge and medical knowledge.

    WRT recording, Bety had no expectation of privacy. And for calls that no notice given, the hospital has video and audio recording in the facility, and Bety can't benefit by bypassing the Hospital telephone system which specifies calls may be recorded.

    Mr Beaty needs to think twice before taking children away from parents. Where is innocent until PROVEN guilty?

      Apparently that basic right doesn't apply when you're in a hospital. They have very scary authority when it comes to children and families.

    I can't stand the judge sarcasm and little smiles with the defense, disgusting group really. The judge appears frustrated, keeps I guess looking at the clock. What a shame plus, he needs to look more presentable, cleaner, his appearance regrettable. They needed a judge like the Judge Jennifer Dorow from the Darrell Brooks Case.
    Hope Maya and his family get Justice they deserved. That Cathi Bedy should have never been allowed to continue practicing after her arrest in 2007.
    Prayers for Maya and her family.

    All the Defense needs to do is, get the email or what ever documents they have that they gave Chathi the authority to sit in on conversation with Beata.
    It needs to be in a document not just someone stating it then state i for the date we gave her authority.

    “Let him figure it out himself” the judge said to the Dad about him confirming his recollection of specific dates by allowing him access to his journal - well let’s just set the Dad up to fail !!!! How long is that journal - he’ll be under pressure to find the answer. The judge is out of order !!!!! I’m disgusted the judge is publicly humiliating the Dad !!!!!
