    i think one thing to keep in mind is that this is somewhat early game syndrome wrt to what the enemies and your characters do. Like compare the stages of chapter 0 and 1 in Arknights where 20 yellow slugs come to you over one lane versus like Stultifera Navis or something. Or early op skill descriptions versus what new ops do now. I reckon complexity is going to increase beyond these lvl 14 trash mob fights.
    I am not terribly worried gameplay wise though, i am sure theyll figure something out. My rimary biggest worry is if they can keep up the level of plot intricacy and world building in a 3d gacha environment. While its not everyones cup of tea, the visual novel and longwinded style of Arknights allows for complex plots and more shifting point of views and characters than any of the 3d gacha I know of. Compare how the plot and setting go down in Genshin or Star Rail and how you just keep walking between characters, talk to them in a quite clunky dialogue interface whily everyone stands around and it feels more like just a checklist of talking to people. You dont really get something like Lonetrail, Guide Ahead, Babel, Roaring Flare, Near Light and so on out of that. The story takes much more of a backseat. My point being I hope that Endfield doesn't lose those kind of big stories from Arknights. I want them to square the circle of giving me fun direct control over a character in the world but still deliver complex multi pov-narratives like that.

      AK's story is not even voiced because if HG tried to give at least some flair to their static png dialogues they'd go bankrupt.
      And from all the beta tests over the last couple years people said endfield's story is pretty dogwater outside of funny AK references like character names on graves or Angelina being there for whatever reason, which is very expected. Endfield pretty much feels like an empty candywrap, all glitter no substance.

      You would be correct if it wasn't for the identity crisis that Endfield is currently going through. Plenty of people, myself included, view this game as an action game, however a slower paced one at that... Not to mention there are many aspects of combat that need work or haven't yet been implemented
      Will the Ai improve?
      Can you make the elemental aspect of combat less RNG reliant?
      Will there be dodge or other methods of parry? If yes, how often can we dodge? Is there a cool down? Is it limited to a select few operators?
      Can we expect a more intricate and interactive base system that will not just die after a few weeks of building?
      As much as I love Arknights and its world and characters. If it cannot provide a solid answer to these questions, they risk their IP reputation

      If you familiar with Arknights then why the comment?
      They don't aim to be the best in the world the aim to be the best in "THEIR OWN CATEGORY"
      Take a look Arknights, the only game i can think to directly compete with it in the category is Path to Nowhere, and naturally since Arknights is the one that innovates the genre despite there will be a potential competitor, people obviously will mention Arknights name comparing it, which in itself is free publicity.
      Since it's different than the rest, the game will have it's own playerbase with the same mind, just like Arknights, the hive mind. Arknights itself got plenty of actual game modes while other gacha you see they only make mini games? Instead of actual content, it's so uninspiring, it's dull. They just create more chores.
      The character design alone is screaming Arknights with the mysterious belts/strap on the character body or some mysterious transparent material and a bit of spotlight for cultured spot like armpits instead of the obvious full blown fan service.
      And fyi the only thing new from this endfield video from TGS is the language and voice is in JP, everything else is same as tech test.
      And we only get 1 test, and no way there will be no more test after they received feedback from technical test.
      Chill, they probably wait for Babel and Chapter 14 in Arknights to release on Global. Just like last year with Lone Trail.

      It's not an arpg thats why theres no dodge,it's more like og ak where position and team comp matters.and it reminds me of ff12 or xenoblade fights.
      While i love arknights worlbuilding and aproach of game design i would say endfield is really niche and will have a rough time,ppl just loves shallow games

    5:30 at this point you should have 4 characters and this is the 4th boss in the game.
    This gameplay looks the same but cut very short.
    Yes that was overworld map farming (cept certain mats).
    No thats not relic grinding that crafted pieces you can only craft 'relics' you dont farm them not to mention they have fixed stats.
    There is also elemental orbs that spawn to make reactions and break bars and do aoe dmg. Its more complicated then you think.
    There is so much that you miss from watching this short clip.

    you should look up actual english review who played the full stuff like kyostinv, etc, keep in mind its still in a very early state of alpha 0.1.14, tho the relic system are craftable while the grinding seem more for EXP and stuff
    also yeah GFL2 looks like XCOM but playing it its very not XCOM lol it has their own stuff and its more casual and kinda easy

      The grind is what keeps these games entertaining

      I’ll get bored in the long run
      I wouldn't stay on a game just to farm gacha currency for the next waifu
      But maybe some people don't mind doing that and don't really care about the gameplay

      ​@reyxo4657 Grind is the literal reason I always get tired playing games like these over time.
      The reason I play games is for story, characters and gameplay. Not to grind. And before you say grinding is gameplay, I don't consider repeating the same mindless task over and over again in the exact same way, gameplay. Gameplay is where your skill is tested, where you do something new or something that is inherently fun regardless of the "reward" you get for completion.
      If I can grind purely just to pull more characters, that's literally the ideal gacha game
      The draw of a live service game is new content and an ever expanding world. Most of the gacha games I've stuck with more than 6 months have minimal grinding. Otherwise I always burn out and I know it's not something I will play for long

      A bit of grind is nescessary to have something to do while waiting for big updates
      Something that is more than just grinding gacha currency for the next waifu
      I don't mind repeating the same dungeon 5 times a day for 2 or 3 weeks if the gameplay is fun
      I used to play mmo, so I won't even call that "grind" if I listened to myself
      idk, I just like to play videogames
      And to me, videogames are more than just: log in, collect gacha currency, then log out
      *This* would burn me out

      @reyxo4657 But that last part is exactly the issue. Log in, collect currency, logout is exactly the issue. Grinding is the exact same but the process for collecting currency is longer and more excruciating. I still feel like I'm just going through the motions. That's the exact thing that causes burn out. Burn out doesn't happen from not doing something enough, it happens from doing something too much and not getting enough enjoyment from the process.
      I personally don't see the issue with waiting for next update. This is a game, not a full time job. I don't need something to do in game every day. It's fine to have off days. I have other games to play, books to read, shows to watch, work to do and study to finish. Quality is what I'm looking for not quantity. There's is so much entertainment at our fingertips with the internet. That I don't need this one game to stretch itself out for maximum playtime while sacrificing the quality of playtime.
      You're right I also don't mind grinding if the gameplay is good. But how many gacha games ever bother to make the process fun or interesting? The focus is more on making it as long as possible. If the process itself was fun it's not grinding anymore. I mean in 99% of grinds do you actually do anything different every round? Or just repeat the same inputs over and over again with slight variations.
      For the gameplay to be good during grinding it must be challenging, switch things up every round or feel satisfying to play. Meaning something you would want to do even if there was no reward.
      I mean people play competitive games, roguelikes and other things all the time and that's always doing the same thing over and over. But the difference is those don't need rewards for other people to consider doing them because the process itself is fun.

    There is a lot of footage from Alpha test in better quality, and this particular video didn't showed anything really new as far as I can see.
    Also don't be so fast in judging how equipment would work, as the guys that participated in playtest said it can be craftable. We don't actually know how grindy it will be, but probably less tedious than in Genshin.
    Base building will a be a major part of the game and in this part you right -
    this type of gameplay is interesting when you trying it yourself, rather than watch somebody else playing it.
    There is also will be a full EN localisation - playtest had a proper text and actually good English voice actors.

    9:20 the relics as I remember is craftable and the substat and main stat is actually fixed, so the relics here won't be a problem (and I hope it stay on the open beta too)

    1:40 Personally feel like this is one of its greatest strengths, as I think having to control EVERYONE in a party (in the same sense as Genshin/WuWa/etc) is starting get stale, and kinda defeats the purpose of what a party is supposed to be. I do agree with you that, on this front, it doesn't seem to do anything different with it. Maybe if you can order the agents around in real time might be nice.

      It's way more immersive & fun to see the whole party
      Especially when the AI is doing shenanigans during exploration (like when they try to reach you by jumping non-stop)
      And to me it makes even more sense in a gacha game when you're supposed to pull multiple characters, it's cooler to see more of them at the same time

    I love the colors, it fits arknights perfectly. Only gameplay needs to be fun and i think that will be the deciding factor. The multiple people concept is nice but how do you make it fun is what they need to figure out

    As far as i heard the "relic" system has predetermined stats, the only rng there is with it is how high the stats will roll , which id say is at least not the cancer of genshin,star rail,wuva farming over and over again for the specific stats

    Some aspect similar to gameplay like Rogue Galaxy where the team can interact in battle even though they are an AI, like they request for meds, skill, etc. Edit: Ayyo the factory thing looks similar gameplay in Rogue Galaxy but real time in building 🔥

    Endfield doesn't have slash/dodge or parry system, the only way you can dodge a bullet is run or jump :))

    Team of 3, you can switch between them at any moment ? I swa this game mechanic from other platforms. From mobile there some game like Ather Gazer. I don't like this mechanic because sometime you have save the one who's about to be killed. More like a single parent taking of 3 childs 😓

    The base building looks intimidating and confusing. The combat seems like a 3rd priority of the game. Graphics are great. I don't know what to look forward besides Character designs and Story as a AK player.

      Yeah, seeing a fully build base just like that is very overwhelming.
      But, playing it yourself will actually be different, as you would start from scratch and basics. Building it by your own hands from zero will be much more interesting.

    The Ui and world are looking very clean, but it looks really slow, I believe they are trying to go for a more "tactical action" game, but it doesn't look that fun yet, maybe its because of the starting characters and the effects being kinda muted.

      I am excited for Endfield bro. Although I feel like there is so much they have to work on, I can't shake the feeling that they are holding back so many features that could make this game shine
      That being said I can't wait to explore the world of Arknights when this game comes out

      I'm not sure. Right now I'm mixed on it.
      On one hand I did enjoy Arknights for a time and slowly grew out of it so I'm a bit interested in how this game will do its world building, story and character designs.
      BUT on the other hand this looks like it's more inspired by MiHoYo style of games which I greatly dislike. I prefer other ARPG games like ones from Fromsoft, Nier Automata, Monster Hunter, Witcher. Being a gacha and having FOMO also makes me more hesitant to try it out.
      Arknights' base featues are still in BETA many years later so I'm also worried about the building aspects of Endsfield.

    gameplay is a more like dragon age 2 or dragon age inquisition. U cant really compare this and genshin or wuwa because genshin and wuwa have real-time combat and dodge, endfield has a more tactical side of things and not just blatant dodge and brute force the shit out of all the enemies. Still for a game under development i still have high hopes and of course some improvements to the game.

    i personally love the combat, its very similar to Dragon Age & FF16 as long as could set commands for the other characters in the party like in Dragon Age.... I'm getting tired of these stereo type action gacha nowadays like Genshin, zzz and wuthering ( i play them except zzz).. so im really looking forward to this..

    in my opinion the gameplay needs to be more "dynamic", like they gota put some parry or dodge mechanic and make the combat more difficult but at the same time letting you make more damage, cause if you don't brake their defense you do very little damage and the gameplay is just you hitting the enemy while it just stands there, like you pointed out on the video; so i believe that making the combat more harder/dynamic and in exchange let you do more damage, I think that would make you feel more rewarded for your effort. I really liked that nier like mechanic and the factory management tho.
    I remember that in the CBT they asked about a dodge mechanic so i hope they implement it.
    i also heard that they won the Japan Game Awards (Future Division) at TGS and that the game was very popular and crowded that it was difficult for people to walk so that's good news XD.
    But overall i hope the game ends up being good.

      I think dodge, and parry mechanic should be added for specific classes such as specialist, some of them will have mobility skill or crowd control while defender will have parry or taunt skill, also as you said character must do more dmg but instead buff them HG can just make the enemy weak to specific dmg type like art or physic dmg and add more dmg type like in arknight

    I do not like the direction they went with the combat. Arknights should have continued as a strategy game. Making it an action game just removes the unique class based type of the original Arknight. This game will also removed the need of a Support, Tank and CC because you only have 3 characters on field and dealing damage will be much more important than tanking or healing. Just like every Action games like Genshin or Wuwa, it's all about getting the big numbers and never what unique shit the character offers to the fight.
    How are you gonna implement a Enmity/Juggernaut in this game? How are you gonna implement a Pusher/Puller? How about Flagbearer? How about Fast-Redeploy/Executor? How about Trapmasters? How about CC/Slow? How are you gonna differentiate a Deadeye, Spreadshooter, Artillery, and Besieger to a regular Marksman?
    This type of gameplay will remove Arknights cool archetype and just gives us a 3-in-1 DPS characters that are loaded with healings or buffs because a character will be deem shit if it doesn't have a skillset with the likes of a modern yu-gi-oh card. This combat will completely remove the entire thing that made Arknights good, it being a strategy focus game. People will just be doing elemental reaction, spamming skills and dealing tons of damage.
    This game just screams to me "Modern Gacha Audience"

    As a Genshin and Wuwa player, I don't like the combat. Having AI run around doing stupid things (and you know they will) is annoying. Pausing combat every few seconds to cast a skill takes the "action" out of action combat. If I wanted to play a turn-based combat game with gacha waifus, I'd probably play GFL2.
    And base building? Genshin's teapot nearly killed me. Thank goodness we don't have anything like that in Wuwa. It's not my cup of tea.
    I like the art style, the environment, and the character designs. Beyond that, I don't have any reason to play this game. Sadly, I don't think it will do well.
    The reason it's taken years for them to release is because the combat isn't fun. Turn-based players don't want to play an action game. Action game players don't want to play turn-based. This is an awkward mix of both.

      1) It's not an action game. It's marketed as a tactical/Strategic rpg. Very different audience.
      2) The demo version is still the same as the alpha tech test from a year ago, It will be a different beast by the first CBT, just think about how wuwa looked in tech alpha and difference between CBTs. This game is already more polished than wuwa alpha build.
      And if rumors are then Next test will be a Open beta test so you will have the chance to see the changes for yourself.

    The environments... 😅 It's just dirt, dirt-colored grass, and rocks. Color palette = "dirt." There's a way to do muted palettes. Armored core & Elden Ring had muted palettes too. Endfield just doesn't know how to do it right.
    Also, there's nothing of visual interest in the scenery. All there is to look at are rocks, grass, and dirt (all the same color too).
    Why make an open-world if the world is literally just dirt, rocks, and grass (again, all of the same color).
    And the architectural stuff just looks like junk.
    The UI and character models carry this game extremely hard. It will definitely have its fanbase. But I don't see this game competing with WuWa, NTE, etc. when the world is so boring to look at.
    It doesn't need to be colorful. Manga comics are monochrome (black and white). But there are gradients, contrast, and interesting things to actually look at.
    There's not enough interesting things to look at in Endfield. It's just, dirt, grass, and rocks (all of the same color). 🫣

      It's not even a beta build of the game.
      Have you looked at how wuwa looked in its alpha test? It was the same but changed it in CBT.
      This game doesn't need to do what wuwa did, It should Stay with the dark and mature theme of OG with this kind of atmosphere but It will definitely improve the environment for sure.
