Nice! I currently have 3 wranglers and been thinking of gladiator for long time perfect truck/jeep but than the size just the space to accommodate everyone as my kids are now older too. And I just got my 24 pw a month ago and so glad we did wow it’s comfortable.
Great minds think alike! So comfortable and quiet to take phone calls, unlike my Gladiator on 37s, lol. The PW is very upgradable too... I will be posting on them once I get through my Hammers series!
I did the same thing - went from a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon (Had a 21 Willys before the 23 I got) and needed something with more towing capacity/payload - not quite as much as a typical 2500 - so I got a 24 Power Wagon with Ramboxes (not sure what/if any topper options I have with that) - LVL2 equipment group was cool to see it came from the factory with a warn zeon 12s winch and all the rubicon jeep stuff (disconnecting sway bar/lockers front and rear).
Nice! I’ve ordered a 2024 PW. I’m not sure how I’m going to rig it up yet. I want to take my two grandsons gold panning in BC. Some natural hot springs and some fishing and hiking. RTT or just a tent on the ground.
That sounds like all the things I love doing and have made videos on! I am NOT a big fan of RTT, but I do like my Habitat to be able to stand in my tent. IF I didn't have it I would be sticking with ground tents like my Shiftpods.
2022 Power Wagon level 2 in olive green. Working on my build still. Keeping mine low.key with a RTT mounted below the roofline. Just 2 of us so smaller tent. Raceline wheels plus 19 offset 35 inch duratracs. Same side step setup as yours. Looking forward to following your build.
My fav color. You'll definitely get better mpg than me with the 35s vs 37s and the below roofline rtt. In another few weeks, I should have an update on my build!
Congratulations to your new rig! My wife and I have outgrown our JLUR and I had my eyes set on a JTRD for better range and payload. After checking out a PW recently and we felt in love with the space it offers. What kind of mpg / range do you get with your current set up?
Thanks! The space is amazing the range and mpg is awful 😖 bigger tires and a Topper don't help but right now, 9mpg in the city and 13mpg highway. If you want range/mpgs, check out the half ton diesels like the Chevy trailboss.
@@BackcountryPassportthinking of trading my Gladiator in for the exact reason. Any thoughts or regrets now that you’ve had the PW for a while? Would you do it again? Miss the gladiator?
@GYMGUYFE the gladiator is a more capable offroader than the PW due to the sheer size of an HD truck. However, if you need the size for family overlanding, the PW is a no-brainer! Other bonuses of the PW is a quieter interior and a full size pick up bed to do pickup things. Hope that helps!
Compared to my gladiator on MTs it's like limo quiet 😆 I haven't noticed much when I added the Topper, but again coming from a Jeep I might be skewed a lil
@@BackcountryPassport how has it been off-roading? Has size or length become an issue? Is there places you haven’t been able to get to that you would with the PW?
@ivanvujosevic289 it's great on easy to moderate trails. Size does matter for offroading. So depending on your use case mid size vs full size can make a difference. I needed the space and so that was a compromise I was willing to take. My gladiator can and take on almost everything... except for camping gear and a family of 5 with a dog!
One thing that concerned me about a Habitat or Canopy that retains the tailgate is the dust ingestion in the bed area. Do you have a lot of trail dust build up?
Correct dust will be an issue. I did add a felt barrier to the tailgate and that did help. I have a blower and after I stop I can blow the dust out easily. Also consider the holes and gaps to let water drain thats in every truck bed. What solutions are you looking at that could do better with keeping dust out?
@@BackcountryPassport All that you said is a great start, I've seen where people add some type of barrier at the tailgate hinge as well. For me I'm considering an Ali-Cab where the gate is replaced with a vertical door.
@TheUnorthodoxx the alu-cab is a great system. Doesn't it have a negative pressure vent to help with dust? I needed more space for the fam so the alu-cab, GFC, etc wasn't going to happen for my setup.
Awesome!! What color and specs did you order?? I got the method 315s with a +25 offset from CJC offroad. With the Ko2s at full lock theres no rubbing since they're a Lil smaller than your standard 37. Most any other tire will likely have a Lil rub.
Olive green 2024 without the big badge decal. 3-5 days until it arrives likely. It is Benicia now. Super stoked. Ordered in June. Thank you for the info. I dig your videos.

Welcome to the PW family!
Thanks!

Awesome 👌 I don't know if you can do a topper but there might be rack options for you!
I've got a 2022 power wagon and I am placing an order for the Habitat soon! Nice build
Mines green too.
That's awesome. You'll love it. What options are you going with on your habitat?? Green/Patriot blue are my fav colors.
Welcome Aboard, cant replace the space you get. The truck far more capable than the General Public is aware of.
Thanks and you are definitely proof of that capability! Long time sub of your channel!
Trademan with power wagon package. Seats 6 and around 50 gs on sale if you watch. Gets you into a piwer wagon cheaper. Then modify.
Love the tradesman. It's great they still have that option!
I love my PW. Nice set up you have!
Awesome. Stay tuned for more buildout vids that are coming!

I have a ‘21 PW and just ordered a GFC for it and my family, I can’t wait! Nice to see videos of PW overland set ups.

Lmao the clips with the kids. I can relate lol

@terryg2543 nice! If I ordered, I would've gotten the same green or that patriot blue.
Best thing he did was get rid of that piece of shit Jeep😂😂😂😂❤
Lol, that Jeep can probably take me farther than whatever you got 🤣
